Bernie, I am an African American 88 year old great grandmother and this gives me hope. I have four greats, three boys, one girl, under the age of 15. I grew up under Jim Crow. My dad, an attorney, was an early civil rights activist. I share this because I never thought America would come to this. It's hurting to imagine what life would be like for my grands. My heart breaks for them. But I believe you and hope your vision for America's future will be reality for the sake of my grands. The Dream of God is Justice.

As a non American, every time I watch and listen to Bernie Sanders' speeches, I can't help but think he is the greatest President you could've had, but somehow chose not to.
It's because the Democratic Party chose Hillary over him, even when Burnie had more support from the people. They knew she was a risky choice, but went with her anyway because Bernie was "too far left" for them. This single decision ended up fracturing the Dem Vote into 3 categories. 1: people who always vote D and people who like Hillary, 2: people who were going to vote for Bernie, but felt ripped off so they voted either third party or for Trump as a protest, and 3: People who usually vote D, but chose not to because they either don't like or didn't trust Hillary so they didn't vote at all. Bernie had a far better chance to win against Trump than Hillary ever did, but the US government likes to play politics rather than do what's best for our country and its people.

A view from Australia …… there is so much to admire about Bernie Sander’s political perspective which aligns strongly with the left of centre policies that our Labor and Greens parties have here and in Europe. Thank you for your persistence in espousing common sense Bernie. America wastes so much money in supporting the BAU status quo resulting in erratic health provision and educational opportunities. The best is brilliant but many US citizens are left without adequate care and learning opportunities. I am not sure about the depth of understanding that far right American voters have about the term ‘socialist’. It’s perceived as being dangerous and derogatory. Anyone who has travelled to Scandinavian where social equity policies have been in place for decades can see the benefits of high taxation and the redistribution of money towards high class and affordable schools, hospitals, public transport systems, and innovative city design etc etc for everyone to enjoy. As you clearly highlight Bernie, the entrenched US political system only benefits the rich, as well as political lobbyists and companies that are resistant to change.

I got to meet Bernie as a volunteer at one of his campaign stops in late 2019 and was struck by his humility. Most politicians are slick and egotistic, but Bernie really stressed to us that the work that needs to be done would not be accomplished by just getting the right man in office, but would require consistent effort from millions of caring people with shared goals. The more I think about our predicament now, the more I believe what he said then. Congress is corrupt, the U.S. empire is corrupt, but the human spirit persists. Regular people can and must make their voices heard and collaborate to devise independent ways of caring for and safeguarding the rights of those most vulnerable in our sick society
I agree... But the presidential stage can serve as a morale booster with the right person in there who isn't attached to one party or focused on pointing the finger at the other party. Moreover, if we had a president that spoke to the people regularly with encouraging and unifying words, it would improve the capacity for everyday Americans to work together. These kids get to vote for the first time in November! Many kids don’t think it will even matter. There is a lot riding on their young shoulders. My gift to my grandson is HOPE and ACTION! Love how so many give the military such a bad rap. I joined after high school, it was right after 911. Know why? Didn't want to start my life in debt like your kid said. There are a lot of options for him other than active duty. You can always go reserves or guard. But you have to do some active duty time to qualify for the GI Bill to be considered a veteran. The whole time I been in service we been in a war. How is that any different in USA history? Have you really looked to see how long the US to know peace in all its history? It's damn near in the single digits! Look into your options and choose what works best for you and your family.

They knew she was a risky choice, but went with her anyway because Bernie was "too far left" for them. This single decision ended up fracturing the Dem Vote into 3 categories. 1: people who always vote D and people who like Hillary, 2: people who were going to vote for Bernie, but felt ripped off so they voted either third party or for Trump as a protest, and 3: People who usually vote D, but chose not to because they either don't like or didn't trust Hillary so they didn't vote at all.

A view from Australia …… there is so much to admire about Bernie Sander’s political perspective which aligns strongly with the left of centre policies that our Labor and Greens parties have here and in Europe. Thank you for your persistence in espousing common sense Bernie. America wastes so much money in supporting the BAU status quo resulting in erratic health provision and educational opportunities. The best is brilliant but many US citizens are left without adequate care and learning opportunities. I am not sure about the depth of understanding that far right American voters have about the term ‘socialist’. It’s perceived as being dangerous and derogatory. Anyone who has travelled to Scandinavian where social equity policies have been in place for decades can see the benefits of high taxation and the redistribution of money towards high class and affordable schools, hospitals, public transport systems, and innovative city design etc etc for everyone to enjoy. As you clearly highlight Bernie, the entrenched US political system only benefits the rich, as well as political lobbyists and companies that are resistant to change.

I got to meet Bernie as a volunteer at one of his campaign stops in late 2019 and was struck by his humility. Most politicians are slick and egotistic, but Bernie really stressed to us that the work that needs to be done would not be accomplished by just getting the right man in office, but would require consistent effort from millions of caring people with shared goals. The more I think about our predicament now, the more I believe what he said then. Congress is corrupt, the U.S. empire is corrupt, but the human spirit persists. Regular people can and must make their voices heard and collaborate to devise independent ways of caring for and safeguarding the rights of those most vulnerable in our sick society
I agree... But the presidential stage can serve as a morale booster with the right person in there who isn't attached to one party or focused on pointing the finger at the other party. Moreover, if we had a president that spoke to the people regularly with encouraging and unifying words, it would improve the capacity for everyday Americans to work together. In my opinion, RFK is the man for the job. He is an independent that has grace, humility, and integrity, and he is wise enough not to insult his opposition because the insults only creates more division among the working class. The president is supposed to represent Americans. Biden won't even debate his opponents. I'm not interested in the two-pay system anymore.

My grandson will graduate from High School in May. Growing up, he always wanted to be in the military like his dad and uncle, now he doesn’t. He doesn’t want to acquire a large debt to go to college. His generation has known no peacetime, they are numb to the constant fear of school shootings, they are disillusioned by the insanity behind the Anti-science rhetoric being spewed from their phones! These kids get to vote for the first time in November! Many kids don’t think it will even matter.
There is a lot riding on their young shoulders.
My gift to my grandson is HOPE and ACTION! He knows what civil Responsibility means as an adult in this country. Bless all those moving forward who will be fighting the good fight to save our democracy.
Tell him to leave the USA and make a life in a civilized country.
Love how so many give the military such a bad rap. I joined after high school, it was right after 911. Know why? Didn't want to start my life in debt like your kid said. There are a lot of options for him other than active duty. You can always go reserves or guard. But you have to do some active duty time to qualify for the GI Bill to be considered a veteran. The whole time I been in service we been in a war. How is that any different in USA history? Have you really looked to see how long the US to know peace in all its history? It's damn near in the single digits! Look into your options and choose what works best for you and your family.
save our democracy, PLEASE, I have heard that enough. Try something different, like Ukraine.

Bernie is a decent mensch, but very politically naïve to believe that this country can be fundamentally reformed by peaceful and democratic means. His party if ever faced with demands for taming the rich would rather throw in their lot with fascists than tax their donors.
