    I found you thru Linda's channel. Enjoyed your story. I also have always felt a draw to New England and then found out after starting searching on Ancestry that I have many many ancestors that were first settlers in a lot of areas of New England. I have visited there more times then I count and still visit. I will look forward to more episodes from you.

      I too have many ancestors from New England, especially Wethersfield, CN. Both my maternal and paternal sides settled there and then many surrounding areas. I also found that my husband's ancestors had lived in Wethersfield! I often joke that a few of my ancestors that didn't make it to America until the 1700s were latecomers!! LOL !! Seriously, most of my lines go back to the early 1600s, from the pilgrims onward. Sadly, one of my 10th Great Grandmothers, Susanna North Martin was hung in 1692 during the Salem "Witch" hysteria. I believe that Linda Smith Davis mentioned that one 3your ancestors was Rebecca Nurse.

    I am 28 and my husband is 29 and we have been married for just 9 years....but we lived in Arizona our whole lives. We had lived other places short term because my husband was in the army. Last year we looked at each other and decided that we were tired of Arizonas horrible weather. It is 80 degrees in the winter and upper 100s in the summer. We had always loved New England and always talked about living here. In January we picked up our life in Arizona and moved all the way to Massachusetts. When we got here there was snow and it was freezing but we FELL IN LOVE. Since being here for 5 months we have never looked back. New England is our home and we are so excited to raise our family here. God bless and I am so happy you love New England, too. It is a special part of our country and one of the most beautiful parts. 🥰💝

      I couldn't agree more Bethany. My Husband and I have talked about how we wish we would have moved sooner, been able to raise our family here, but for whatever reason it was not meant to be. We did have most of our extended family in Michigan and are happy we could raise our daughters with family close by. We are so happy to be living here now and pinch ourselves constantly because we can't believe our life here! Have a beautiful week Bethany and Welcome to New England!!!! ☺☺☺

    New here and love your story. Last spring my husband and I started looking for homes and property in New Hampshire. It appears everyone else is looking to buy and move to New Hampshire too 🤔 we lost out on so many homes. It's so difficult to figure out which town, they're all so beautiful, to live in. Many areas too rural and didn't have high speed internet. Bedford very expensive so we haven't found our forever home. Stuck in NY till next spring. Another school year too.

    • @mynewenglandstory
      @mynewenglandstory  2 года назад +1

      It was hard to find the perfect Town because, I agree, there are a lot to choose from. When we were looking we knew we wanted an old house and at the time there weren't a lot for sale. The house is what brought us to our Town and because my Husband is still working, we had to narrow down our locations. Best of luck to you, it's fun looking for a new house but oh so stressful! Have a beautiful week!

My ancestors originated from Brookline, Mass - then they settled in Michigan in the 1800's. I have always had a heart and love of New England. I also found you through Linda's channel. I enjoyed learning about your journey to New England and about your learning that you have many New England ancestors. Your comment that you felt pulled towards New England after visiting struck a cord with me. I grew up in Florida where several generations of my ancestors had also been born after migrating from southern states. I thought my heritage was from the Deep South and Florida until I moved to New England as an adult and instantly felt a connection to this part of the country. It wasn't until years later that I learned the reason for that connection was that I had many New England ancestors and that the very towns and villages to which I was most attracted were those where my ancestors had settled. It was Karma, and I was meant to come home. Love what I've seen of your home so far!

    What a wonderful story! I live in Minnesota. My 1st trip to New England was in 1984. I didn’t make it back until 1994. My son was 4 years old. I went to Cape Cod with my parents, sister and my son Matt. Very long story short…my son also loved New England and decided to enroll at UMass Amherst. After graduation he decided to stay. He married a college friend who grew up on the Cape 2 years ago and they bought a house in Lakeville, MA. My husband and I are both retired and are planning to relocate in 1-2 years 🤞🏻. I usually make it out 2-3 times a years and will be visiting Matt and Sarah in July. I’m very excited to follow your story!

    My family and I lived in Minnesota for 11-12 years then we moved to Michigan where I presently reside. While I like living in Michigan, I would love to move to a warmer climate. My daughter-in-law has expressed a desire to take a road trip to see all of the New England states. I am going to recommend your channel to her so you can take her along on your travels!

The States are much smaller than we're used to in the Midwest but each is so different. I hope I can introduce some areas you may be interested in seeing. I also have a lot more postings on my Instagram if you're interested. Have a beautiful week!

    Hi Carla. I'm born and raised in CT and will be moving to NH in the near future. I have one daughter that lives there now and my other daughter is currently looking to buy a house in NH. Looking forward to more of your stories and if you have any tips and info on the house hunting experience. My ride is about 3 or 4 hrs depending on where we're going so not too bad. Thanks for sharing.

      How exciting (and stressful 😊) for you with your Move. Since you already have a Daughter here and are from CT, I assume you are much more familiar with NH than I was. My biggest recommendation is to really explore the Towns you are looking at houses in to see if it’s a good fit for you. I did things like go in the local grocery stores, eat at the local restaurants/coffee shops etc. Towns can look different in person than online. If you have any questions on certain areas, I would be happy to help. I have explored a lot, but also have so much more to see. 😀. I will say that I absolutely love NH. I have access to the Ocean, Mountains, Boston, Maine & VT all within an hour! I also find the people to be very nice!! Best of luck to you and your Daughter!

We also travelled around NE and I have to say that I fell in love with the area and never wanted to leave! My son and his family live in Boston. Going now to look at your other videos!

The States are smaller out here than I'm used to and am amazed that even though I live in NH I am only ! hour to: Boston, The White Mtns, The Ocean, Southern Maine, VT...you get the idea. So your options are many to living closer to your family. Good Luck, hopefully I will introduce you to some new areas. The hunt is fun!!! Have a great day!

      Thank you for subscribing Molly. You're meeting Luke?!!! I'm so jealous! Give him a hug from me.....lol. Yes, we definitely saw the connection. We never found "Stars Hollow" but if you research it, it lists the Towns Amy Sherman Palladino based it on. A couple that come to mind are Washington CT, New London CT and Essex Ct, I believe. I may be wrong. I can see how she came up with it though because there are so many Quintessential New England towns out here. Have a great week!
