  • Hey guys,
Thanks so much for watching this video! This has been kind of on the informative side of the videos I've made, but I think it's good either way to talk about this condition and maybe even help bring it under attention a little bit more.
I know that probably the majority of you have clicked on this video because you've either been diagnosed with it yourself and are trying to find more information about it, or you might have some sort of pain that is similar to this, and you've stumbled upon this.
So for those of you, I've put the link to Wikipedia's page about Tietze Syndrome and Costochondritis down below so you can read at little more about it.
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tietze_...
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Costoch...
Like I've said in this video, there's just not that much information about this, and besides what you read on Google, there are a few more videos like this one on RUclips, so make sure you see those as well because everyone's experience is different.
Thanks again for watching, please subscribe and give this video a thumbs up and click the notification button, to get notified when I upload a new video.
I'll see you guys in the next one! x

I have tietze syndrome, got injured while doing inc bench press, the weight was quite heavy. Ego Lifting, big mistake. Never do that !
It’s been 2 years I’ve been experiencing the pain,in winters it grows,in the morning it’s the most severe.
There’s inflammation in the chest as well, shortness of breath leads to anxiety sometimes because your mind thinks ‘what is it?’ ‘What’s happening to me’ ‘am I still healthy’
(Tietze is diagnosed after you get your MRI etc done,so that it’s clear that the pain and inflammation isn’t because of anything else ,so get that checked first)
Not to worry,I have some solutions for this syndrome.
Sharing my experience for others to make this pain bearable :
    1. Do not lift heavy or medium weights on your chest while working out. It’ll screw it up more & will lead to inflammation. If you want to train your chest, pick up those light weights & maintain controlled form.
    2. Heat pads help, for some people, initially it may feel like it’s not working but it does. Try doing it everyday for atleast 10-15 mins.
    3. Stretching helps but again,be very careful with the form.
    4. Medications can only reduce your pain & inflammation temporarily, better not to use them till the pain is unbearable.
    5. Put your palm/hand on your chest, while coughing, sneezing, changing positions while you sleep or lye down on bed, your hand will act as a support to your chest/ribs,which will eventually make you feel less irritated there.
    6. Do not shout loudly, trust me I’ve faced this problem. Might sound funny but sometimes speaking loudly triggers the pain.
I still have the pain & inflammation after 2 years but I still hope that it’ll be fine one day.
Do not worry, More power to y’all & god bless y’all 🙏🏻
    This too shall pass.
    God bless you

      Yeah Man thank you.
I have it for 8 months now, I did trainings in gym and mma. It gives so much anxiety because of it’s unpredictability, I was thinking that I have heart problems but the pain came even out of nowhere that gave me a signal because heart pain doesn’t come out of nowhere. I went to doctors, doctor did my heart test, everything’s fine, but I cant go to doctor again because they are taking too long or not answering. I have swollen place on the left side of the left ribcage part and when I touch it gives me a uncomfortable feeling and a bit of pain, also the pain goes to my back and different areas along the left ribcage side. My huge mistake was that I did weight lifting and mma since I had this pain.
      Be strong everyone out here💪🏼🙏🏼

Gheroin 59 same with me but it’s on my right side, one of the upper ribs on my right side is swollen and when I feel on the bone it’s definitely bigger compared to the other side of my chest, and there’s a bruise too. Didn’t know if it was normal or not but I’ve had it for a couple of weeks

Hey mate, I had tietze syndrome two years ago but I did not know and I’m pretty sure I also got it from lifting and bad posture. By any chance do you have any swelling on your middle line of chest and looking like a lump and uneven. And just wondering as my chiropractor told me It will heal up if i rest. How are you and has your tietze syndrome gone by any chance. I am having anxiety everyday just wanted to know if it will ever gonna heal.

    Hi
Had a bout of this last Summer. I wouldn't call it 'random' as I knew the factors that led up to my episode. I was already dealing with back pain so waking one morning with this scared the hell out of me. Within a day of researching, I found Steve August and his Backpod. Using it for 3mins, once a day, for about a week, my ribs were freed up. Did it daily to the point where I only use it once a wk for maintenance. Pain is all but gone but the backpod works well for any upper back aches you may have.
Hope you were able to get one!

Kayleigh - great video! I have had this for months - stretching really helps but what is a savior for me is Tylenol - muscle and joint - when the achy pain is getting really bad and feels yes - like a heart atack - this really helps for me and takes the achy pain away. I have had my heart checked out and it all checks out there incidentally - not quite sure how I got it but have been a drummer for years and working out (weight training for years) - but I also went through a lot of stress in my life the last two years or so - so I'm thinking stress is a big factor too.

Backpod combined with chiropractic to release the ribs from the back (because the ribs being jammed are the main cause of this condition. It can happen for various reasons such as an injury to the ribcage, rib separation from an injury, having multiple mini traumas over a period of time to the chest, having spinal issues or postural issues, lifting too heavy, and even coughing or laughing too hard.) and trigger point therapy to break up scar tissue that is being created by the constant injury to the muscles and joints which causes more immobility in the rib joints. It's as if they are stuck in a web if this condition ends up going on for months and years.
I've had Tietze's syndrome for over 15 years and it has never fully healed but regular maintenance with these methods once a month or every couple of months makes it manageable to live with.

ive been using the backpod i got off amazon. been using it for two weeks now twice a day for 10 minutes each time. i am now mostly pain free and improving each day. If you watch Bob and Brad here on youtube you will find that Costo is due to where the ribs meet the spine. where they connect to the spine the joint is froze in place and all movement is transferred to the sternum area. I got Costo 11 years ago after working out 3 1/2 hours a day 4x a week, using too heavy weights etc. Usually it only lasts a week or so for me, but I've had a bout of it for a few months now after getting a bacterial respiratory infection, definitely not fun.
I just ordered the back pod, so I'm going to try that, but a hot water bottle definitely helps along with any natural supplements you can take to keep inflammation down in your body, look up n-acetyl l cysteine and take that on an empty stomach every day. Also stick to non-inflammatory foods and adding in a good daily collagen will help support the joints and ligaments.
Hope you're feeling better since this was a while back.

I was diagnosed with this 6 years ago, I've had it for 8 years. I currently have had the pain for the past 2 months continuously. This is not a good feeling, do you notice when sleeping on your back it triggers the pain?

    • @sushmanath1173
      @sushmanath1173 3 года назад

I can’t believe you’ve lived with this pain for 8 years. I’ve had it a month, it came on after a blow to the ribcage. I also can’t lie on my back as it hurts (so how on earth would I use a back pod?!). I can only sleep on my left side.

    • @Skate_48
      @Skate_48 2 года назад

Watch Steve Augusts video about the back pod do it gradually even lying on the bed is a good place to start rather than on the floor.
It's a mechanical issue of the ribs being tight in the back so the front dosnt work well with these back ribs locked up.
Do some research, pills and steroids won t fix this.
The man Steve who invented the back pod had costo also and is a spine and back specialist for thirty years in New Zealand.

I have no pain unless I press on my ribs, high or low. I was putting vicks on my chest around my breats, I have very large breasts and have always felt some weight pain. So I did not pay attention for a while. Iasked my former doctor about it and she didn't check and just said it is normal.
Recently I have been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver, beginning symptoms, Red splochy palms, yellowey skin or eyes. go for an ultra sound. Could save your life. My first scan didn't hurt, it showed the scar tissue from sugar and fat. You don't have to drink to get it. 40"/" of americans including teenagers have it but only maybe half of these know it. Don't wait until you need a liver transplant. I am 72 I don't think I am eligible.
I am not sorry about the rabbit trail. It was when I went for the deeper colaberating ultra scan I felt the horrindous rib pain. Mostly right chest but also down my sternum. I have no pain unless I press. Whyis mine so different?
I must have an ultrasound scan every 6 months. I am terrified of that pain again. I am disabled so a lot of the exercises are very difficult. Thanks.

Same . Go for the back pod .
I’ve been shouting and claiming heart for the Last 3 years .
It’s controlled me every day and changed me - bad tempered because I saw no way out .
Hospitals kept turning me away saying no heart attacks in the past . Blood pressure fine - ecg fine .
      Told muscular skeletal.
Sometimes if I’m lucky I can go a few months without pain , but it always returns and every time for me it’s what the beginning of the dying process feels like .
So. I bought the back pod this week and have had it two days .
Google steve - New Zealand - back pod , he is the guy that developed it and The techniques for recovery .
Keep going to the doctors or hospital and keep requesting answers .
