It's weird how much the original lyrics for the song fit so well with FAITH's storyline, it's almost uncanny. The regret and guilt in the lyrics fits so well with John Ward's story, especially his abandonment of Amy in the face of fear back in the Martin household all those years ago and eventually his conflict with the NORMAL HUMAN BEING behind the slaughter (and I do mean _Slaughter._ There's a surprisingly high number of deaths in this series. And I'm not talking about the sacrificed cultists either). The "sanity of your mother" line somehow rings true aswell because Ms. Martin was actually convinced the twins were still alive (so much so she made an entire bedroom for the imaginary children) which in turn, made John believe they were still alive and captured by Gary somehow. Which in turn, in turn, led Father Garcia into a wild goose chase searching for the Martin twins that died in childbirth and as such never existed in any official government records. I now wonder if there's a significantly probable alternate universe where TLT made this as a FAITH song instead of a FNAF one.
It makes more sense if you consider that some priests are commonly referred to as "father", so him saying "son" is kind of fitting even if not from blood relation but rather his position.

This song kinda just explains John Wards life. His son become a monster and wishes he was there to help him. He even set himself in a paradox in chapter 2, In order to beat chapter 2, you have to fight Mother Bell, AKA the mother of demons. However, John wakes up realizing it was a dream. And I guess you could say Lisa or Amy was Micheal's mom. And when John says "It won't be long until I become a puppet" if you remember in chapter 2, when he meets his childhood friend, Lisa, if you get hit hit by the demon, you get controlled and have to fight it off. John also slowly loses his faith. Going from a bright yellow cruxifix, to a wood one in chapter 2 (or 3 idk), this also fits the part of the song "I wish I lived in the present of my past mistakes" This could also reference in chapter 1, Amy quote on quote "dies" and ever since that moment he has been losing his faith. In chapter 2, You get to see Father Graica exorcise Micheal. And he realies it was a mistake. When this part of the song plays "With all this anger, guilt and sadness coming to haunt me forever" This can also explain why demons are trying to get John Ward. When John says "Those fuzzy memories mess with my temper" can also add evidence to how John Ward fights the demons control off.
