Just discovered the C Cat 38 and I really like it. I'm also a fan of the helm location. You spend less than 10% of your time at the helm when cruising.
Hey Steve. You make a very good point which is why I always wondered what the big emphasis is in a sheltered helm vs a fun helm. Seems to me that if you are only there 10% of the time you would want to make it as fun and engaging as possible. Am I missing something?
The helm in this location makes docking on either side easier. A boat of this size will be single handed a lot and being able to step from the helm directly onto a dock would be nice. Engine access is through the berth which is unavoidable in a boat this size. I'm impressed with the performance numbers you have put together. @@navalgazingatcampdavid
I liked the video. I don't think I picked up a mention of the centre version. Also I would like to see a layout like Bali catsmart. One decent seating area is all you really need.
This would be my boat if I could afford it. It is also too new to have any on the use market. Great selection of comparable boats. Thanks for the video.
My wife and I really enjoy your videos and find them so very informative. We are planning for a 2-3 year adventure living on our boat and are just over 10 years away. This is the first indepth C Cat 37 review we've seen. We notice that you compare to the Nautitech 40 Open, which is on our shortlist as well as the Aventura 37 and Excess 11. Will you be doing a video on the Nautitech 40 Open? We'd really enjoy and value your thoughts on it as well. Keep making these incredibly videos, and yes, on every decision, I think "what would Carmen...my wife" think!
Hi Ike. Thanks to you and Carmen for watching and commenting! Yes. The Nautitech 40 is definitely in the schedule. Also watch for reviews of the 4 circumnavigation rallies that are available now. Lots of fun coming your way!! Thanks again for watching!!
@@mattinacan Thanks Matt, much appreciated. My wife and I are starting to look now although our plans are about 8 years away. We went to Rome before we had kids and now looks like a good time to think about a return! Please do share your contact, thank you again!
Nice review. However your performance numbers are very sensitive to a correct and comparable deplacment. Comar itself lists the empty displacement at 5.5 tons, at its website, not 5.0.
Hi Orbi Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Thanks for noticing that. There are a lot of great changes happening at C-Cat and some of these numbers are moving about a bit. I will make the change in the charts. Thanks again.

Are you considering reviewing the Maine Cat 40? I think it would be an interesting comparison to the C-Cat 37.
Thanks Steve! I had not heard of this make. I’ll dig in and have a look.
I would love to see the Excess 11 in the comparative analysis. Maybe next time !
Thank you for the video
Hi Felix. Thanks for the note. I believe I have the Excess 11 coming up. I’ll double check. Happy New Year!!
@@navalgazingatcampdavid +1 for the review of the Excess 11, and while you're at it, how about the Bali Catsmart? :) Wonderful video, Subscribed!

I don’t have that info but I just sent over the contract info for their Sales Manager. I’m sure he can help. Thanks for watching!
Nice starter cat. Hopefully it has good performance.
Based on the numbers it looks to be very good. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I like the Aventura 37 much more.
Hey Lila. Honestly, I agree....but don't let the purists hear us say that! LOL!
