Having a rough night then I stumble on this, a super chill Kevin doing show and tell with some of the most beautiful snakes I’ve ever seen. Nerves settled, calm is had, and my snake ate his dinner. All is well with the world. Thanks Kevin! ❤
What I love about the Arboreals and Semi-Arboreals is their Prehensile tails which is a fantastic body mechanism and feature. My big 11 foot male Coastal was outdoors with me and bringing him back in through my front door I forgot I left my fan on high and when I passed through the door the air hit Chewy in the face and he whipped his tail around and whacked me against my left jaw which stunned me and after he smacked me he locked his tail onto my door casing which pulled my feet out from under me and I went down on the floor and it was harmless and he was fine and I wanted to share this story with you because I was laughing so hard I was in tears and I still laugh every time I think back on that experience. Valuable lesson learned big constrictors don't care for the art of surprise LOL
Love coastal carpet pythons and irian jaya carpet pythons. Great 2 species for keeping in captivity!!
I love the fact that you are super CALM and that you keep your tone of voice calm too and I imagine that all your snakes are very much relaxed thanks to this. In comparison to many others on YT you really have got it, the ideal calm in tone and movement, which is brilliant for your snakes and inspirational for us

Love the informative videos, I have learned most everything I know to date about snakes from you! I started owning snakes as pets sense the spider ball python came on the market back in about 1998 I started to notice them and just fell in love man. I would still say today that the spider web ball python is my favorite single gene morph out there!!! Thanks for all y’all’s hard work!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🐍🐍🐍
Must be a real OG if you refer to spider ball pythons as the spider web gene. Not a lot of people even know they used to be called that.

My Amazon tree boa baby is honestly the sweetest baby snake I've ever dealt with. They're so inquisitive and adventurous snakes.
Breaks my heart to hear we’re losing these species and my main concern when it comes to keeping is being a part of preservation (certainly wasn’t always ) , They look like little flying angels on the Amazons back , I’d name her Slayer for all the Angels on her back A.O.D. , I was just looking at some Aussie water pythons this morning , I’m falling in love

Awesome seeing a few different species of arboreal snakes. Amazon Basins are just gorgeous. I hadn't heard about the Madagascar species, definitely one I want to do some research on.

Sanzinia!!! I adore the boas of Madagascar. That’s a dream snake for me right there... I have a Dumeril’s boa and my goal is to have a MGB and a Sanzinia as well.
There isn’t much care information out there for them though, would you be able to make recommendations or talk about care for Sanzinia and include a segment for them in the next video??

I love all your vids. You are so passionate and informative about these animals. I go to others pages to just look at beautiful animals, but here I not only get to see beautiful and healthy animals, I also get to learn something. Absolutely one of my favorite topics Kevin as I've always loved the Arboreals :) Absolutely gorgeous animals and as beautiful as they are they deserve to have some attitude and more work with them should be on anyone's agenda that plans to keep any !! I love my semi-arboreals as well but have found they prefer to thrive more like the Arboreals do up off the ground. Excellent advice !! That Madagascar Tree Boa is one stunning snake in many ways reminds me of the Dumeril's with stocky body, colors and similar patterns :) I have an amazing 8 foot male Dumeril's that I cherish :) That beautiful Amazon Basin looks like she should be named Krystl because of the bright white star appearance patterns :)

You should name the emerald tree boa Cōātl, which is the Aztec word for snake. I thought that the markings reminded me of Aztec architecture and they also used to worship snakes.

One of my favorite animal species on planet earth
I had an emerald tree boa that was a 3rd + hand snake, very little history on him. His name was Green Bitey Thing and I loved him with all my heart. The lady I adopted him from (a breeder of pythons) believed he was wild-caught and also told me up front that he might not survive. He had to live his live in a quarantine room where nothing of his ever came near my snakes. I'm sure you guys know the whole procedure where crypto is involved. Anyway - long story short - GBT thrived for a good 3 years, longer than his last owner thought he would, before crashing and passing before I could get him up the road to our vet.
Why am I going into my arboreal snake history? I am ready to take on another arboreal and really enjoyed this video that gave some of the differences in temperament.
BTW - if you didn't get a name for the female with the crosses pattern - how about Joan (for Joan of Arc) or Dorothy from Wizard of Oz (green, emerald, Emerald City). ;) LOL.
Excellent video. I don't have a name suggestion, but I would request more video on boiga divergens as those are certainly my bucket list species. I would love to know your husbandry technique and how they should be kept.
I came to your channel because my best friend made me watch. My grandmother was terrified of snakes and so was my mom. I'm a huge animal lover and I don't know what took me so long but I'm loving them, still a little scary to me but actually seeing how beautiful they are. Thank you for that. You guys are awesome.

For a name how about Lunate? Her back reminds me Lunate crosses. Also I don’t comment very often but I just wanted to let you know I love your videos. I look forward to seeing how you set up their habits. At the present moment I do not own any snakes but hope to in the future after I do more research on what type of snake I would like. But having you visually show me the set up and walking through the set up is actually better then reading about it. Also I know you like reading your dm’s but if people are being a little to freaky, you might want to have someone else read them first and filter them out for you. It's covered in crosses so King Diamond Maybe. Amazon tree boas by far my favorite. the patterns are awesome and the attitude is half the fun. I also really like their eyes. Do you work with dumerils boas at all? I'd really like some better information videos on them I don't really see much.

Arboreal snakes have really become my primary interest. I live up in Canada, so a lot of these species are less commonly available.
We just got our first northern emerald tree boa last week. We were told captive bred but some people say its suspect cuz there were no photos of the parents and that we'd have trouble feeding him, etc. He was apparently on a hunger strike for a month and a half and had only been fed live rats from his previous owner. We offered him his first meal with us, a frozen thawed hopper rat (he's about 2.5 years old) and he took it first try! Very solid, fast, hard strike that actually startled me. He's also exceptionally tame. Has not once struck out at us.
I wish there was an amazin basin breeder up here. Like you said, it's a dream snake for us, too.

Hayden CB thank you. I think the head shy thing comes with trust and baby snakes are often very reactive as babies but learn to think better as they grow and that may result in less head shyness. I like to rub them under their chins and desensitize them too.
Name her bela who h means beautiful in Portuguese. Seeing how she is from the Amazon and the language is primarily portugese its perfect.
Everything and it's pet dog are named Bella (one spelling or another).
Name the basin emerald tree boa "Dani California" like that song by The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The idea comes from the lyrics "She's my priestess, I'm her priest". Since the marks on her back look like crosses, typical of Christian religion, and priests are one of the holy men associated with the religion. By throwing the concept of the crosses on her back to the epic song by the Chilli Peppers. I'd totally suggest her name be no other than: Dani California.

I'm not religious but the markings on her remind me of the symbols in and around the wee Scotish chapel.
