Avondale Aquatic Center Design Concept

A community priority, the Avondale Aquatic Center will provide a competition pool for local schools and swim leagues, and a recreational pool for families complete with a lazy river and large slide features. The new facility will be located on the Civic Center campus.
Recreation Pool Features:
Zero depth entry at kiddie play pool
Kid play structure with (2) slides, water spray features and tumble bucket
Water volleyball and basketball courts
350’ long lazy river
Water walk course
(3) slides with 26’ vertical drop: Enclosed, winding tube
Competition Pool Features:
10-lane, 25-yard, competition swim course
Diving nook with (2) 1-meter diving boards
Learn-to-swim nook
Buildings & Deck Areas:
Bathhouse with Women’s and Men’s Locker/Shower Areas, Multi-purpose Rooms, Storage Rooms, and Administrative Areas (Lifeguard Room, Pool Manager & First Aide)
Outdoor shade canopies comprising 13,600 square feet of area with outdoor seating below
Deck and turf areas surrounding the Pools
(2) food truck bays
(2) snack areas with outdoor seating
Pump/Filter Building for water treatment/distribution
