God, the comeback Raiden made is unbelievable to me. He went from a dude everyone hated to a badass, white-haired Katana wielding icon with amazing theme songs
… it is saddening how people hated him to high heaven in MGS2 though, I like him, he’s a fitting and well written character, especially in the environment he’s in (newbie who only went through VR training, fights against basically magician veterans and having 90% of his existences stripped down and invalidated) It took him his body, right eye, his jaw, his remaining innocences, humanity and sanity for everyone to start liking him which is… _kinda unfair now that you think about it,_ I like his MGS4 and rising appearances as well but… I don’t like the implications of his instant favoritism by everyone else

I love how even before MGR Raiden was casually ignoring the laws of physics. Like what is his body made of to have enough mass to stop a giant ass ship in motion like that? If a whole ass pier wasn't doing it what's an extra cyborg worth of mass going to do to stop a battleship? It's plowing through the ground he's standing on so it should just move him with it.
Also, during the first fight, he managed to shrug off several .50 BMG rounds from the Gekkos. Considering how those rounds can easily blow up a regular person and punch through unarmored/light armored vehicles, he somehow managed to not fall flat on his ass or bleed to death in seconds, which is honestly pretty impressive to say the least. I didn't know about MGS at all until back in 2012. Back in 2012, my brother bought MGS4 and I didn't care about it at all. I didn't know what the metal gear franchise even was. I just saw it as just another gun shooting game and shit. My brother had no knowledge of mgs and neither did I. He played the game and I just left the room because I had no interest. About 6 months later, I saw the cutscene he was playing of this scene of Raiden fighting the Gecko and it was at that moment that I got interested and wondered who this Raiden guy was. Then in 2013, I saw there was a MGRR demo and played that if it meant I can lay as RAiden. I had no interest in solid snake and found Raiden to be superior. It wasn't until I found old games of MGS and discovered MGS1 and saw that the MGS games were something special and cool and started to play them. If it wasn't for Raiden, I never would've found this awesome franchise.
Thats how I got into MGS, my uncle played them but I never found them interesting until he played MGS2 for me, thats when I really was introduced to Raiden, though in MGS2 he's not as loved as he was in 4, when you fight Solidus with a Katana, I thought he was a badass. Then playing MGS4, Raiden was taken to a whole new level and god damn did I love it.

I got into mgs from mgsv tpp and have been a slow grind on playing and watching and understanding mgs. It’s very fun and entertaining. The gameplay in mgsv tpp (which I still play today) is probably one of most favorite of games to play and dissect. I wish I got into mgs sooner lmao. I’m 16 btw, so there are still kids out there who play and enjoy these games lol

Yes, this is one of the best piece of entertainment there is to consume. But not only that, learn from it. Kojima has achieved his dream of being one of the greatest storyteller in human history.
It's kind of sad that Raiden lost most of his humanity. I wonder how that affected him psychologically? That his brain and eyeballs are the only human parts of him that are left. That must've been hard to come to terms with. I wish we got to see more fully human Raiden. Maybe in a prequel game that would have showed us what happened to him before MGS4. MGS2 Raiden is my favorite, but I might be biased because of how attractive he was. His "human" body still looks good at the end of MGS4, but it's just not the same knowing that it's artificial. I wish Platinum gave us his MGS2 outfit as a costume in Revengeance.

Raiden's best action choreographies are from this game. They're even cheesier than MGR but everything Raiden does is extremely creative and amusing to see.
I would always watch my older brother play this game, i loved watching him play. He’s the only reason I knew about this amazing game & the mgs series all together. It’s a memory I’ll always cherish until I die

I got into mgs from mgsv tpp and have been a slow grind on playing and watching and understanding mgs. It’s very fun and entertaining. The gameplay in mgsv tpp (which I still play today) is probably one of most favorite of games to play and dissect. I wish I got into mgs sooner lmao. I’m 16 btw, so there are still kids out there who play and enjoy these games lol

Yes, this is one of the best piece of entertainment there is to consume. But not only that, learn from it. Kojima has achieved his dream of being one of the greatest storyteller in human history.
It's kind of sad that Raiden lost most of his humanity. I wonder how that affected him psychologically? That his brain and eyeballs are the only human parts of him that are left. That must've been hard to come to terms with. I wish we got to see more fully human Raiden. Maybe in a prequel game that would have showed us what happened to him before MGS4. MGS2 Raiden is my favorite, but I might be biased because of how attractive he was. His "human" body still looks good at the end of MGS4, but it's just not the same knowing that it's artificial. I wish Platinum gave us his MGS2 outfit as a costume in Revengeance.
