Presented like a Master that you are mate. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us little people. Our horizon is as wide as our arsenal. Cheers from Australia.
Great video! Would never think to use a crankbait of that size in the manner you fished. Excellent footage of you demonstrating the methods/techniques you were talking about.
Hell of a vid because I was of the school of thought with 6, 8 & 10XDs to bomb...along with the Big M7.5. Never gave it a second thought to make short pitches into steep banks, pockets, etc... What a vid dude!
Great video, thank you for doing it. It would have been nice to see you catch a fish on the shorter, less traditional deep cranking technique though. Feels like a very niche technique that may make sense at a very pressured lake like Biwa but not sure it makes my list as a weekend warrior. Sometimes these videos feel like a whole sales pitch to get us to buy more stuff (I guess that's the whole point) and it's not clear that it will actually catch us more fish.
Nice Ryugi! Those WCZxDRT handles are so amazing when cranking. Need to try one of these in my pond as it’s only 10’ at the max. But like worming it from the bank. Thanks Ben
When the day comes that I can make it out to Arizona to visit you guys it would be cool to go fishing some deep cranks mostly everything around me is shallow fishing unless you go saltwater fishing but I would love to experience some deep cranking for bass 👊🏼
This breaks conventional ideas, but using straight braid (I prefer 20# Daiwa Samurai) will actually get the bait deeper than fluoro even though it doesn’t float. Because it has a thinner diameter creating less resistance. Also when using fluoro you’d actually don’t get the full effect of fluoro sinking because the line is constantly being reeled. Which means the line doesn’t have the time to sink and create that downward belly between the bait and reel. The only to get that is to let the bait sit for a minute or so before reeling in, but at around the first third or so of reeling the bait in, that belly part has been reeled up and is no longer helping depth. Another thing, unless the water really clear the fish aren’t able to see the line. Most determine visibility by dropping a bait in the water and seeing how deep it goes before it disappears. That actually isn’t visibility per se, it is light penetration. So, for example, if from the surface to the bait disappearing is 3’, that doesn’t mean that at 20’ deep there is 3’ of visibility. If the light penetration is as deep as you’re fishing the line will then be visible, but if it isn’t the line is invisible. Also braid will give the bait more freedom of movement allowing it to hunt and have more of an exaggerated action. However, to make up for the lack of stretch in the line stouter trebles and split rings need to be used. As well as, a more parabolic rod. I personally use the Orochi Launcher and love them. If you’re not bringing it through much cover, use the drag a little more than normal to help. The other benefit is that you don’t have to change your line after a long day of deep cranking. Fluoro has stretch and after a long day of cranking, the line has been worn out from the resistance of the bait. Braid will last a year a more. I’m not a huge braid guy for most stuff but the few things I use them for is for reasons like this. Also put a big ass handle on your cranking reel, like a 110-130mm handle. Just make sure the reel has a strong enough gear to support the braid and torque of the handle. I like the zillion hd 7:1 with a 130mm livre handle. The bigger handle has more torque and allows me to use a high speed reel and it still be easy to reel all day.
So the question I have as a co angler would be, what’s stopping me from attempting to do this with the Megabass deep divers? Is it just due to how the bait is made? What is your thought process behind throwing it on 18# line? What ratio are you throwing this on?
Heavier line in fine because I’m not trying to get max depth out of it, so I’d rather have the strength. You could certainly try this with Megabass cranks as well. For the shallow stuff I like a bait that’s super buoyant and dives almost vertical so it’s easy to manipulate around cover.
@@thehookuptackle_usa in stead of me stripping the line off my reel, would a steez a hlc be acceptable to use in place? 7 ratio so it’s a little fast, but how would it perform on day the madbull?
When your a Co-angler trying your best to work angles, hope like heck you don’t hang up your beautiful $29.99 deep diving crankbait. I have rarely met a Pro Boater who will turn back around and help you free you crankbait.
If you fish crankbaits, you’re going to lose some. But if you get used to it’s feel and what it’s doing / you can work it through shallow water incredibly well without snagging 👍
Any news on the Karen? Seems like it won't ever get here. First at the end of August. Fall/late fall. Here we come to December/winter and nothing yet... I'm sad...

Love the launcher for big crankbaits! Love the new colors
👊🍻
I have the old gen 1 Launcher, so I’m happy to see I can use this with the Mark 56. I might have to get that perch pattern after all.

Try it and see what happens! Hopefully not a snag 🤣
Thanks for the vid guys! Btw is there a way to create a wish list on the website?
lookin at that wcz varial like yeeeea i could probably use another one 😂 never thought to throw it on a crankin rod i bet it’s perfect for deep divers

Thanks.
Can you tell me, please, what will be the difference between Lucky Craft Pointer 65/78 and Duo Realis 85/Rozante 63?
Calico bass killers 🤫
Irony… maybe the madbull factory lure use recommendation of a deeper crank was spot on accurate… use for this exact style… who knows lol
Ordered my 5pk to Marana throw a Orion in there 🙂
Haha! I so wish I could 🍻👊. Thank you for your business!

less than 6ft on the norm for me. we only have one lake around me where it gets deep
What reel is he using on the Launcher rod? It a round reel.
Ryoga.

Invest in a really good plug knocker I did. Has saved me many $$$
It’s part of the game. Imagine a being a Co where custom swims is a standard part of your lineup lol
@The_Bass_Stunters what one did you get
@@tylerhaynes7222 I hope it has a long rope. Those Pro’s keep moving the boat forward. They don’t go backwards.

We're all sad. I hate waiting on baits too! But I want the bait to be right so I'm ok waiting.
Don’t think Floridian bank anglers can use this one.
You could definitely fish these off a pier or jetty 😆
Not with that attitude you can’t 😜👊🍻
