Congrats on the 25 Grand. As for the comments, that looked good. Your hair is fine. Trolls are under the bridge. And, another good video. Bring them on! (the videos that is, not the Trolls, and the hair is long enough).
How about a COSTCO episode? I know, I know, Costco is geared to bulk items, like a box of 20 Skippy creamy peanut butter wafer bars for $10.99. But when you divy it all out into MANY MREs, the price is super cheap. The only downside is if something isn't quite a great find, you gotta deal with a lot of it.
Congratulations on the 25 thousand!! I want to see your pantry with all the boxes of you drink mixes! You always get a new box of drink mix when you only use one or two packets in each MRE. Should be interesting!!
Great video! Congrats on 25k subscribers!! I am a huge fan of the Fillo brand (which I discovered from your videos!) but they have an impressive array of pouches of lentils, or beans, and different sofritos, several which are available at Whole Foods. They've added some new tamales, as well. That chili, tamale and sauce combo looked awesome! Keep up the good work!
Congratulations on 25K! I’m not surprised at all, you’ve got a great channel and I know i enjoy watching! I hope you continue to have fun and keep producing great content!
Whole Paycheck! What I do like is that a Whole Paycheck smells like a grocery store from the 70s. Bread, spices, fruits, vegetables, and maybe a few things "off".
Congrats on 25K!! Currently sitting here with no power from the storms so it's time to fire up my grill. Fun video! I wish i had some of the stores you mention near me. Cant wait to see your lively wife again. Oh, YES on the charcuterie!!!
DBA videos on sunday morning are always a treat! Congrats on hitting 25k!. Price is always a concern but they need to be enjoyable at the same time. Thanks for the video.
Congratulations on hitting 25k. I always look forward to your videos. The trolls are people unhappy with their lives. So, they try to make everyone miserable. I just laugh at them. Again, I get great ideas, of how to build my own homemade mres from you. Thank you, for saving me from eating Sub sandwiches and pizza, every night I work. Plus, the other food and stuff we sell at the gas station / convenience store, is hella expensive. So, it saves me a lot of money. I hope you get even more subscribers. I send good thoughts and blessings to you and yours. Have a great week.
Congratulations on 25k! About your hair… Confession. The first time I saw you, the first thought that hit me was Wolfman Jack. About the MRE, I think that adding rice would put the MRE into either a young man meal or a meal for two for (cough) people of our level of sophistication and grey hair 😊 Keep going strong 🎉
Hi DBA. Well you made it to 25,000, congratulations. I can not wait to see you and your lovely wife Dielle, I hope I spelled it correctly. Much love and respect as always, from me, here in the South East of England, to you, your wife, and the children.. xxxx
Congratulations on 25K subscribers, looking forward to 50K! Charcuterie... Can't even spell it without autocorrect. When I go out on the boat I bring what I call a snackel box, a plano tackle box filled with cured meats, cheese, crackers, and nuts. Charcuterie on the go. Those Fillo walking tamales are good! I can't always find them. Thank you for the video, I look forward to the next one.
Looking forward to the long awaited charcuteriMRE. And we get to see Mrs DBA again too. I found the La Costena tamales to be slightly less expensive, and just as good, if not better (flavor diffs)
When I have bitter instant coffee my favorite go to for addition is a Reese’s peanut butter cup even if it doesn’t often melt well and I try.. to keep some on hand for this. I have been wanting to try and replace with some cocoa PB2 powder and have run out of my plain and need to replace, maybe cashew also if I see. A good lower fat, high protein addition as well
I have tried every brand of chili on the market that I have seen, and they all have that canned taste so I can my own. That corn tamale sounds yummy. I don't have a whole foods around me, but if I see one in my travels, I'm going to stop and get a few of those. Man watching these videos before breakfast makes me hungry. Think I'll serve hubs breakfast in bed because I'm heading to the kitchen. Have a great and safe week.
Always enjoy your videos. We camp a lot this helps with our prep. We also use the Lunch box, ours is the mre one. So please show again how you use yours
Congrats on over 25k! We camped this last weekend and had to stop at an IGA grocery store for coffee creamer and crackers. In the process I saw some things to make MREs with and had to grab them! my wife rolled her eyes at me! I said, Hey DBA would be proud! lol! keep up the great videos!
Any chance you could try and make a fully gluten free MRE? My partner and I are making a bug-out bag, and your channel is really helpful! I have a wheat allergy though, so I’d be really interested in what you’d do. I’ll probably get my supplies at dollar tree or Walmart, but I’m mostly just curious what you’d do for allergies. Also, we got some caffeine gum to put in our kit. Might be a fun thing to keep in mind for yours 😊
I have been asked about that a lot but I deliberately avoid doing meals based around dietary restrictions. The reason being that I don’t know enough about it and would likely get it wrong and create problems for myself and others. We had a friend with celiac and, although she had been dealing with it for years, she still struggled with the subtleties of the diet. I’m not sure I would be the best to advise on that.
Kroger (or maybe walmart)in this part of Virginia have Bean Vivo brand three bean chili in a 10oz pouch. Its also vegan and surprisingly tasty. Kroger also has refried beans in a pouch by Isadora. Here is your chance to make a bean buritto MRE. Going back to the episode with the pasta in a pouch, Barilla now has some, made in the USA.
Good one! I am excited to see the charcuterie. I found some packs of Columbus brand salami some months back. The packs are flat, clear plastic and the salami is sliced and arranged in two rows. The best part is it said 'refrigerate after opening' on the pack so refrigeration not required when unopened. You mentioned watching salt intake, etc. and it reminded me that I have been meaning to mention something I came across at an Ingles which I have not seen, before. It was Dinty Moore Beef Stew, packaged the same as the Compleats just like I often see but this one had a label that said "25% less sodium". It was with the other Compleats, including the regular Dinty Moore Beef Stew. I tried one and honestly didn't notice much, if any, difference in the taste. Sometimes less sodium versions can taste a little 'flat' but this was just fine. I'm not sure if all Ingles locations stock it or not and have never noticed it anywhere besides Ingles but surely some, other stores stock it. Funny: the autocorrect on my tablet 'corrected' Dinty Moore to Dingy Moore. I was tempted to leave it.
Good morning Brother. We would love to see a Charcuterie type MRE. when camping we always incorporate Charcuterie type meals in the evening, mostly of Mediterranean style meats, olives, cheese, hard breads, with pickled carrots. We also prep a few meals prior to the camp, and flash freeze & vac-pack. I buy the Filo products from Amazon, and they are included in our prep storage. Those things are addicting, Thanks Brother for all of your hard work to entertain, and instruct. I have for several years now, found certain condiments that are hard to find in small quantities, therfore I buy the smallest quantities available and trade them to other campers. We keep a plastic box loaded with a selection of condiments in our chuckbox. Keep on keeping on my Friend. See you on the trail.
Love your home made MREs. Would you do one for the holidays? There are so many things available at this time of year that aren't around during the rest of the year. Think about it please.
Espresso is bitter. Between the dark roast, fine grind and amount of grounds used to brew it, it will be bitter. That is why so many people do not drink espresso by itself but have it as an ingredient in other drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, etc.
I'm so glad to see your channel continuing to grow! Have you done a Natural Grocers? Not sure if you have one there or not. We don't have Whole Foods, just Natural Grocers and I've seen some interesting things there.
25.1K subscribers when I saw the video about an hour after it posted! Great job! I'm looking forward to seeing the "shark coochie" MRE because no one knows how to spell charcuterie!
We had to get busy on that because we just had a huge jump in subs. We are running behind as you can see by the fact we hit 25 over the weekend but we will have that shark coochie video coming right up.
I love Whole Foods, I just wish they had more carnivore options. That being said, one of my favorites is Chili over Rice, would do wonders to thicken up a more soup like chili. I am also going to be buying a dehydrator soon, something that I think I might do is dehydrate some peppers to add bulk to foods, throw them in after they are warmed up, let them soak up some juice in a soup or chili and away we go. 🍻 (EDIT: Ohh, CONGRATS on the 25K!)
I’m not sure if you can do a charcuterie MRE but I would like to see you try. Personally, I don’t think you can do a charcuterie board without cheese so it’ll be intriguing to see your take on it.
Dad you make great videos keep them up Got an idea for a video what if you did a video about nothing but snacks So you make MRES For the meals What if we have 1 that was just a snack video designed for the kids Interesting concept Again keep up the great videos This is Hamm from Washington state
The packaging of the chili would be fantastic if we could find soups, stews seafood dishes and yes, great chili that was packed this way. Other than imported milk in a carton, we have seen no products like this in the Philippines. I guess it will do no harm to ask at the customer service counter next market trip.
Charcuterie? yes, please. They'd have been more honest if they called that main "bean soup". That's just fine, but it is NOT chili. That corn bar is fascinating. I can see piling BBQ beef, real chili, chicken chunks, or even tuna on top of that for a great meal.
• Prior to this current economy, we referred to Whole Foods as Whole Paycheck. Now, every grocery store is Whole Paycheck! Shutting up now 😂 • Congratulations on the 25K milestone • Would you buy the espresso again?
You have a valid point there. Yes, the espresso is good enough to buy again. I think I’m going to try making some whipped espresso with it and see how it turns out.
That's funny 😂 "Even troll comments help the algorithm"😅 Some how I can't picture this channel attracting a "troll" element. Not really your demographic. But... I'll try: HOW STUPID!! OF COURSE IT'S WATERY! IT'S SUPPOSED TO COOK DOWN A LITTLE IN A SAUCE PAN TO CONSOLIDATE THE FLAVORS! SO STUPID! (ah... hope that helps 🤥)
Well done! Spoken like a true troll! On the other hand, the nature of content doesn’t matter as much as the troll’s need for attention. The sad reality of RUclips success.
@dadbudgetadventures Well, like I said, your audience isn't likely to littered with troll types. Maybe you could slip in some bigoted, political type wording in your meal commentary... Frankly, if you keep doing as you are, you may never achieve the goal of a troll. Sorry 😞 tried to help. 😩
Looks like you hit 25k already!!
It snuck up on me. Things had slowed down a bit but suddenly started taking off again so I wasn’t ready.
Hooray there's a charcuterie board coming our way soon.
Yep!
Congratulations on 25 K . Cheers to the next 25 K.
Thank you!
Ooh! That chili and tamale!! Gotta try it. Thanks. And congratulations
Man, that chili and tamale combo looks great! I've gotta try that.
Other than being a bit watery it was fantastic!
Congrats on the 25 Grand. As for the comments, that looked good. Your hair is fine. Trolls are under the bridge. And, another good video. Bring them on! (the videos that is, not the Trolls, and the hair is long enough).
Thank you!
If he does go to Costco, I hope he'll try the Tasty Bites - Madras Lentils and Red Beans pouches. So good and very filling.
Congratulations on the 25 thousand!! I want to see your pantry with all the boxes of you drink mixes! You always get a new box of drink mix when you only use one or two packets in each MRE. Should be interesting!!
I give them to my oldest kid and take them to work and leave them for my coworkers to use. They disappear pretty fast.
Congratulations on 25k! 🎉🎉 looking foreward to the charcuterie video, yay! Hope I can find some of the items in Canada.
It’s gonna be fun and maybe a little over the top
I like the hair! Love the two toned beard too!
Another great MRE! I also store condiment packets.
Thanks!
Yeah, I've been doing that for years. They come in handy for lunches and camping trips.
While I may not make homemade MREs or buy MREs I do appreciate the ideas for camping slash hiking meals . I love watching your videos 👍
Thanks! Camping is a great use for these meals. Makes things much easier for your trip planning.
Congratulations on 25K! I’m not surprised at all, you’ve got a great channel and I know i enjoy watching! I hope you continue to have fun and keep producing great content!
Thank you so much!

Thanks! We are hard at work on getting the video ready. The numbers jumped up so fast we weren’t ready!
@dadbudgetadventures Don't you love surprises?!!
Very nice. I was surprised at the amount of protein given that the entrée was vegan. Congratulations on 25K!
Thank you. This one did come in pretty high for a vegan product.
My latest epiphany - average price of a food cart meal is 15$ - 9$ for that mre - worth it!
Especially if it’s good food!
DBA videos on sunday morning are always a treat! Congrats on hitting 25k!. Price is always a concern but they need to be enjoyable at the same time. Thanks for the video.
Absolutely! Thanks for your help getting here to 25!

Freaking bowling shirts. Love that style. Some laugh but then say that's actually kinda nice.
Thank you. I love the style for a variety of reasons but overall they are just comfortable.
Congratulations on hitting 25K 😊
Thank you!
Just a dash of Baking Soda will remove the bitter. If you taste the Soda you used too much! A dash per cup, 1/4 tsp per pot.👍☕️
A couple dashes of salt in the ground does the same thing. I learned to do that working in a diner.
Congratulations on 25k!
About your hair…
Confession. The first time I saw you, the first thought that hit me was Wolfman Jack.
About the MRE, I think that adding rice would put the MRE into either a young man meal or a meal for two for (cough) people of our level of sophistication and grey hair 😊

Wow, 25k subs. I was here for the 1500.
Now I have to go and purchase for lunch!! Love your content!!
Thank you!
Congratulations, I enjoy your videos. And adventures. Can’t wait for the next one. 🍻
Thank you so much!
Hi DBA. Well you made it to 25,000, congratulations. I can not wait to see you and your lovely wife Dielle, I hope I spelled it correctly.
Much love and respect as always, from me, here in the South East of England, to you, your wife, and the children.. xxxx
Thank you so much! This is exciting. It’s actually D’elle, but that was a worthy attempt. Not an everyday name.
Taco Bell's fire sauce is SO GOOD!
It’s the best!
Congrats on reaching 25k!!
Whisps, those cheese crisps, would be a great addition to that chili.
That would be perfect!
Outstanding video. Congtats on 25k subs! Wife and I love your work!
Thank you so much!
Congratulations on hitting your mile stone. I'm excited to see what you and the wife have in-store for us.
Thank you. This continues to amaze me with its growth.
Another great video, thanks for sharing it with us.

Thank you so much!
Good stuff… 👍
I love it. Sunday morning BAYYYYYBAYYYYY 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you! Now you gotta wait around for the next one 🫤
Congrat's on 25K. Fairly new to your channel. I enjoy following along as you breakdown these MRE's. Good Stuff!!
Thank you so much. I’m glad you found the channel!
Thanks
You made me hungry, love corn tamales and chili.
This was such a good combo!
I have tried every brand of chili on the market that I have seen, and they all have that canned taste so I can my own. That corn tamale sounds yummy. I liked this one!
Me too!
@dadbudgetadventures keep em coming Sir.
25k. Congratulations 🍾.
Thank you so much!
Yes. Do it!!
😎
Thought rice would be the side dish. It would be an addition to the corn elote
Absolutely. Some rice would go really well with this.
Even Trolls .......... LOVE IT !
Yep! 😎
WOW DBA U TORE UP THAT CHILI COMBO MIX U DID, ALL LOOKED GOOD. CONGRATS ON 25.1K SUBS NOW. CONGRATS DBA....Z...

You are past 25K...congratulations 🎉. Looking forward to seeing your beautiful wife. Love seeing your daughters also.
That happened so fast we weren’t ready for it. Thought we’d have a little more time. But the video is coming soon!
I love when I can make someone’s wife roll her eyes at them 😂
🎉🎉🎉 Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 25K
Thank you!
No whole foods here. I keep a lot of the hot Chinese mustard and soy sauce packets around. Congrats on reaching 25k.
Thank you so much!
Congrats on 25 thousand!!! Great MRE
Thank you so much!
Whole paycheck!
Not this time! 😎

I had that Bean Vivo chili in a prior video and it was shockingly good. I would do that again for sure.
Enjoyed the video😊
Fed the algorithm 😋
The algorithm thanks you too 😎
The chili looks Nasty.... neat about the latte! where do you find the latte creamer packs? TIA.
The creamer is from Amazon
Congratulations
Thank you!
You got me wanting to try that chili 🌶️
Get some! It really is good for packaged chili.
Time to drop that vid😂 Congratulations 🎉

Thank you so much. It’s been fun and I couldn’t do it without folks like you and your constant support.

It was definitely more of a “chili soup”

To me this packaging makes more sense environmentally. It’s much easier to get rid of than metal cans.
i am working on getting together a taco mre as a vr. got to get something ordered though to meet the rules
This one worked out well. Not tacos but if you find some tortillas to go with it that would certainly work
Charcuterie? yes, please. They'd have been more honest if they called that main "bean soup". That's just fine, but it is NOT chili. That corn bar is fascinating. I can see piling BBQ beef, real chili, chicken chunks, or even tuna on top of that for a great meal.

A comment is a comment. The algorithm doesn’t care if it’s mean. I’d much rather have the nice comments though.
