  • Fancy joining us for the first ever in person Armchair Adventure Festival?
The Armchair Adventure Festival was born in April 2020 during the first lockdown as the first ever completely live virtual adventure festival. Since then, we’ve gone on to do many virtual Armchair Adventure events and now as it appears the world is beginning to escape the grips of the pandemic, we’ll be doing the first ever in person Armchair Adventure Festival!
If you're not too sure if it's for you, check out the below list for just a taster of what to expect. You can...

The festival will take place at the Mount Edgcumbe Country Park from the 24th-26th September 2021. It will feature talks, workshops and presentations from some of the world’s leading adventure and outdoor experts.
At previous events, we’ve been joined by some of the world's leading adventurers including Sean Conway, Karl Bushby, Elspeth Beard, Jamie Ramsay, Charley Boorman and Lisa & Simon Thomas of 2 Ride the World. This time, not only will we be asking some of these amazing adventurers to join us for the in-person event but we’ll also be looking to bring a whole new crop of adventure speakers to the Armchair Adventure stage.
Along with talks from a whole range of adventure speakers, there will also be the opportunity to try your hand at all kinds of adventurous activities including mountain biking, postie riding (if you’re a motorcyclist), various survival workshops with the team at Survival Wisdom and much, much more.
There will also be the opportunity to explore the beautiful surroundings. With a beach set within the estate, festival goers will be able to swap their armchairs for paddleboards and kayaks in order to explore the hidden smuggler’s coves which line the park. For those wanting to have an adventure on dry land, there’s the opportunity to make use of the ground’s many set walking and cycling trails, take a potter through the award winning gardens, play some frisbee golf or even hire out a Segway! Should you ever need a break from the activities you’ll be more than welcome to head to our festival pub ‘The Three Wheels’ and try out some local beer and come the evening, we’ll all be able to relax and enjoy some awesome live music.
A little about the venue: The beautiful Mount Edgcumbe Country Park is one of the UK’s leading event spaces. Set in the incredible Cornish countryside, and with access to 7km of pristine coastline, there is no better place for an adventure festival. The estate is so historic that the Edgcumbe family would have watched the Mayflower Ship set sail across the water in Plymouth as they sat sipping tea on their veranda in 1620! 401 years later those present at Mount Edgcumbe will sit back, sip some tea (or perhaps some Cornish ale) and watch adventures unfold again!
You can learn more and grab your early bird tickets via our website now. If you can't make the event, you can also watch the virtual version for free. Grab your free front row seat on the website too.
We hope to see you in September!
