- This is the journey of lifetime. I enjoyed this journey of North sikkim like anything. Had great traditional food in Lachen at Bhutia family home stay.
We traveled to Lachung and then to Zero point. It was so beautiful to see zero point, Height of 15700 feet..
This is the best place to visit in Sikkim. If you travel to Sikkim you should not miss Zero point, Lachen & Lachung.
We travelled from Lachen to Lachung then from Lachung to Yumthang valley as part of this travel episode.
In the whole of sikkim series you will notice North East India food and North East India tourism places.

Day 5
RC Homestay Lachen, Sikkim - 737120
Food & Lodging - ₹1800 Per Person. They give rooms on rent to families not to individual travellers.
If someone wants to go Gurudongmar Lake, then people take halt at Lachen and then go to the lake…
I mentioned about Gurudongmar lake in EP 4...

2. Yumthang - There are 12 to 15 Shops where you can get Woolens, Jackets, Shoes at a very Reasonable Price. I got the Jacket and a pair of shoes for myself ₹100 each. If you are going Further to Zero Point, you will need them, as it is quite Cold. I went there in June.
You will not find any traditional food in yumthang, Maggie and Tea is the only option.
3. Zero Point Yumthang Valley - Travelling to Zero Point, one should start very early Morning, like I did. You should aim to reach Zero point by max 10 am…
Since its high altitude 15700 feet...oxygen is low, so be careful , you may carry some medicine as well if needed..Weather is cold carry woolens as well..
4. Summit Alpine Resort, Lachung: This is a good resort in Lachung, we stayed here plus had out dinner here…
Dinner that we had in the Restaurant, some of the Vegetables were provided by us, They had charged us for the cooking charges including the food that was ordered fresh from them... ₹750 for Food.

Can you even imagine that we visited these places in Winter. I experienced snowfall at Yumthang and it was extremely cold. Sikkim is one of the most beautiful place in India

Even we also exprienced snowfall at lachung... But sadly we coudnt go further due to heavy snowfall no permit has been given to us by the army officials..😔 but lachung is love🥰

We visited too around three years ago North Sikkim,and also gurudongmor Lake which is one of the highest lakes of the world and very beautiful.Really it is Heaven on earth.

Kalaunji are the seeds of onion. They are used in Tadka in making certain vegetables. The green leaves he has purchased is Marsoo in Garwali language and Chaulai in Hindi. It is available in Delhi vegetable weekly markets and Chaulai is good for those who are suffering from stomach infection.

The river flowing through Yumthang Valley is called Lachung Chu which meets Lachen Chu(flowing from Lachen) at Chungthang then it derives the name Teesta.

Sir, we went to North Sikkim last week, and I viewed your videos again just to relive those moments. It is difficult to describe the beauty of the place in words. When we went there, we could see a number of flowers in the valley. We also stopped in Yumthang Valley, where several yaks were grazing grass, and we sat beside the beautiful Teesta river. It was amazing. Thank you for capturing the place in such detail.

It depends on your budget...For two ppl from mumbai by flight it cost us 70 thousand all inclusive
Although I had visited Sikkim in 2016 and had been to Gangtok, Namchi, Kalimpong etc., but watching you visit North Sikkim has made me visit Sikkim again, sometimes, after COVID-19 pandemic ends. Wow, watching you eat all those Sikkim delicacies, tempted me to enjoy those organic delicacies visiting Sikkim.
Believe me you are living the life everybody dream of but only few cherish it...... exploring new places .... tasting new dishes.... heavenly pleasure...I can just feel it right from ur videos.....ur are lucky man.....damn lucky 👍😁✌🙏...I also had a tour of Sikkim..the experience was average...but the way you are presenting it ....sikkim seems like heaven now.....may be replanning a tour in future yet again..
