  • An infant carrier car seat is outgrown when the child reaches the weight, height, or head space limit (must have at least 1in of space between the top of the head and the end of the shell). That head space requirement ensures that the child’s head is protected by the shell during a crash. Many babies reach the head space limit before they reach the weight or height limit!
