    Ive worked on the water now for 8 years and i deal with Petroleum Barges and Ships. I have never seen a ship leave a port without an assist Tug.🤔 This shit is way too suspicious

      @@YakmonSaysItLikeItIs you cant tell you are heading towards a pillar until you get closer. The tugboats spun them around and got them going. They were many many blocks away from the bridge when the power went out the first time. There was plenty of time to correct if the power hadn't gone out. This video only shows the second time they lost power after they had already been heading towards the bridge for 30 minutes

    At the point it first lost power. I would have said drop portside anchor and then hit a full-on move from the battleship movie to turn the ship and got it out into open ocean and then I would have made sure the bridge was safe

    i live here and literally everyone in maryland was freaking out, i feel so bad. i’m so happy the Baltimore Orioles owner paid money to get the bridge fixed, but rest in peace for the workers who didn’t make it.

    This incident is frighteningly similar to the Sunshine skyway bridge collapse, back in 1980 in Florida. Both were caused by cargo ships that crashed into bridges after an incident, causing a partial or complete collapse of the bridge. Both sadly had deaths associated with them.

      I am no expert, but it seems to have been on the incorrect course. It appears it was not oriented on the channel correctly early on. It should have dropped anchor at 1:15 AM.

    Our sister lives just 10 minutes from the key bridge,she travels the key bridge to and from work everyday! We are praying for the families of those loved ones who died so tragically.😢😢😢

      Fully loaded container ship striking the support -- there's a crapload of inertia there (I saw math from somebody but I was smoking dope during physics class so I can't decipher it). Some years ago, during a civic celebration for a 100-year-old bridge that I drive over every day, we got a crowd of @5,000 people jumping up and down and the engineers made us shut down the party because the bridge was starting to get all Galloping Gertie on us. Apparently they build these things for very specific stresses and dancing isn't one of them.

      @@clintkaster6269distractions like these always have more to the story. This doesn’t just happen. Especially when our president quickly decides he wants tax payers to fund its rebuild. This was to crash the economy because multiple nations use this passage. The captain was Ukrainian, the flag on the ship was some other country, and we still have to pay for it from our pocket, even when both parties have insurance and are responsible. It’s definitely got some meat to the story

      Some thing like this incident certainly brings out the tinfoils, the xenophobes and the ignorant.
      For a start the ship is owned by Singapore-based Grace Ocean Private Ltd and leased by Mearsk a huge Danish shipping company.
      Secondly, If you knew anything about international maritime shipping you would know all ships of this size must meet international safety and maintenance standards. They are independently certified so it doesn’t matter where the crew are from dispute your xenophobic stereotyping.

    There should have been a tug boat always when there is bridge on the way out to outer sea. Bcos the propeller will have load strain when manovering. Cost saving by the port or incompetent port authority

    I heard the ship lights went out and kinda lost it's brakes so it kinda went too fast and The news said the pilots was an Indian and Mexican who was driving it

      Nope . Crew was Indian heading for india, pilots guiding them were US locals, people killed were Latino workers filling potholes on the Interstate .

      Why they followed normal protocol and procedures.
      Even if they had what could they do once under away at 8 knots a tug boat could do next to nothing to a ship of that tonnage.

      Just a road crew . 2 found drowned in their pickup, 4 missing . All other traffic cleared by cops .

      These are messed up and sad times, first of all, this ship knew where it was going, it was a planned attack. Second, so many weird things have happened in this year, shootings, invasions, more earthquakes, and wildfires, this earth is getting messed up..

    Why they don't stop imidiatly the engines after the first light problem?
    That was no normal incident!
    This is the reason why many countries have their own trained captains to steer ships SAFELY out of their home ports!
    Now see what happens when you rely on strangers!
    Luckily this accident happened at night!
    Otherwise there would have been many deaths!

      Honestly are really that thick that you can’t tell the difference between the sparks from an electrical short from a snapping high tension wire and an explosion?
      Only in Hollywood to explosives give off sparks.
      As for an explosion on the ship. All messages to land did not mention a thing and there is no visible evidence now.
      Time to loosen the tin foil hat me thinks.

      it turned left, to go out to sea, are you blind?, after that it lost power, sent out a mayday and the flow of the water/ currents caused it to collide with the supports of a bridge? yall are so dumb how can this be staged, the captain wouldnt agree to it-

      It lost power which means they lost steering and had no control over the ship and there was so tug boats around to help correct the shops path as it wouldn't have enough time to turn cause the 2 power outages

      @@playsrl3626 that would make sense if the ship didn’t weigh a few hundred tons. There’s no way that thing is turning sharp anyway without steering let alone with steering. In fact, Those tug boats are probably what helped make that sharp turn
