I live in an apartment in Spain. Having a stand is perfect for me. Works great. Only issue I have it's a pain turning the board round but saw someone put a wooden board on theirs and fastened the board to that like you would mount on a wall. Going to try that this weekend
Bought a unicorn stand but it’s almost exactly the same only difference is the bracket. Mission bracket looks a lot sturdier. Made the legs wider and used white permanent marker or tippex to mark exact height so it cuts down set up time especially if you are traveling and need to practice!! Had no issues with mine and the corona or the mission travel light sits nicely on the board.
Yeah its handy to have the marks on but I still would re-check in a different area in case the floor is out :)
Absolutely. When you get used to it doesn’t take too much time to set up.
Thanks 4 another good review Darren 👍
No problem :)
You can probably cut down on the wobble by having the legs at full height rather than the main pole, it'll give a wider base. Another way would be to hang a weight from the bit at the bottom where the arms from the legs join the main pole.
All tips from photography tripod use
Good idea! :)
Awesome review Darren! I think this stand would serve the purpose. Better than no dart board at all 🎯
Thanks mate 😊 yeah if you can't put one on a wall it certainly works well enough for a game of darts and I know a few people who use them a lot so needs must I guess 😊
@@DartsReviewChannel Exactly!! Could always stuff a pillow behind it and slide it against wall. Some people misinterpret the purpose of some of these products you test I think.
@@9_nein_9 I know 😊
I don't find stands to be that portable, especially if you're flying. But as a stand to use in a home where you can't mount your board on the wall I think it's great. I used a home made stand in my first appartment for two years. I'm sure this would work well with the Torus 100 light.
LOL will no you may not be able to take them flying, I dont know though, unless you pay extra for storage. I have a home made wooden one in my loft but I cant take it down as its all screwed together so its not really portable but I could not mount a board on the walls in that area.
Yeah I really wouldn't mind getting One myself Too cause I'm renting My place and I can set it up in my garage when I'm feeling like a dart game myself!😉
Should be just right for you then :)
I'm not sure if its just me but every time i use this kind of stand even measuring out the proper distances. I feel that i have to put more effort in to throwing the darts as the oche feels too long.
LOL I think I have the opposite problem, must be something to do with the way our eyes work but with me when I have it set to right length I keep thinking its too close, not sure why but I get the same feeling on my home made one in the loft area, always feels close even though I have measured it many times and its the right distance. A bit weird lol
@@DartsReviewChannel I definitely get that feeling when I play at other locations for league, there is something to be said about familiarity with environments you play often - for me, walls close to each side of the board I feel like it is further away, if there is only one wall (left or right side of the board) that is close I feel more comfortable with the distance for some reason. If there is no walls on each side but just open space, I feel like the board is further away as well. That being said, it is still a great feeling every time you crush it at a new location where your first thoughts were "this feels weird" but after a few throws it's like riding a bike :P
@@LetterToVoltaire yeah I know what you mean :)
Mine arrived today parcel was open think the screws and thumbscrew fell out
I use something similar and if you have the legs wider it makes it more stable. What I would like to have seem was the rotate element. Is it easier to rotate the board on a regular basis? Good round up of the stand though. 🎯👍🏽
Well I am not sure if I am stupid or missing something but the only way I see to rotate it is to loosen the screw that I showed and turn it? Cheers! :)
I bought a similar stand from Amazon and I don’t use it because of the wobble. I am quite a fast player so when I’m throwing I still see some wobble. Slower players will get on better with stands. I wish someone made one that is easy to rotate the board.
If you throw fast then yes it will be more of an annoyance
Justin Pipe claims the wobble is not a problem to him 🤣🤣🤣
@@9_nein_9 LOL😅
The top bit of my bracket doesn’t sit on the board? I’m using the wee screw that came with my board? I didn’t receive this big screw you have that goes right through into the board?
thanks for showing this product
I also bought a dart stand from another brand
but I actually want to buy another dart stand once they are back in stock I will buy one of those WINMAU XTREME DARTBOARD STANDARD 2
I have 2 but a spare never hurts
thanks for the good review
also think that such a stand is very good for an apartment or loft
on the wobble you can find something e that you no longer have a wobble there are solutions for that
Thanks mate. You get used to the wobble but not so good if you throw fast :)
I don't like the wobble but my b6 is sooo loud on the wall i wish ya could buy something to put behind a board I'm surprised they don't
Go to any hardware store and you can buy stick on felt feet ,put them on your 3 adjusters and it should be quieter
@@deanjames2476 yea iv tried somthing similar I've put underlay behind it and it's mounted on a solid exterior wall but the bang up here and quite a loud thud in the flat below and had a complaint it must be the wall
My b5 was deffo less noisy
If you are using the rota lock then yes they have a loud sound, do as Dean suggests. Wobble on the stands is less obvious facing it from the oche but some people will notice it more than others :)
I never even got that 3rd screw in the middle that goes into the dart board haha
Nice review Darren.
Wondering if this set up would allow for adjusting height and distance to the oche for children. I have two grand sons 6 &4 under 4' tall that took to throwing darts like fish to water but the height and distance was a challenge
Thanks! Its easy to adjust up and down, but a bit of a pain to get set to right height, probably easier if you have two pair of hands though :)
Just got this stand today, has pre cut holes but none are the right height for regulations which is strange, the screw that came with my board didn’t fit the hole in the stand, found one same length but a little smaller head which fits perfect, can easily lift the board on and off instead of unscrewing it every time !
you have to adjust the pole to the right height, they cant really have a set hole to make the right height as you might spread the legs out further or the floor may be uneven etc
@@DartsReviewChannel just found if you spread the legs as far apart as they can go and tighten the screw one of the holes will be pretty much prefect
@@jamessouter-phillips9853 is it stable enough when you spread them fully?
Do you reckon this stand can hold the torus light aswell ?
@@DartsReviewChannelI'd buy one of these but you can't rotate the boards on them
Hello mate
Great channel
Iv just recently got this stand and my board is slightly leaning forward have you got any advice on how to correct it
Iv tightened everything up as much as possible
Was just wondering if its my one or have they all got a slight lean because the boards weighing the poll down
Cheers mate
Hi mate, thanks! Not too sure without seeing it, does the bracket look straight, dont think mine was leaning.
@@DartsReviewChannel I wouldn’t know how I could show you what I mean
It’s just slightly leaning
@@CJClarkeoOo Hmm, if you are on Facebook you could post a pic on the Darts Nutz group, or any of the groups really, I am sure plenty of people may be able to help which ever group you post it on :)
Ok mate thank you for your suggestion I appreciate it 👍
if someone would design a stand with a rotating bracket fixed to the back of the board then attach that to the top of the tripod and tighten. to rotate all you need to do is loosen it at the top turn and re tighten. a 4 legged tripod would make it more stable also. i think the winmau extreme 2 stand has 4 legs but not the rotating bracket.
Good idea, they should.
Thanks Darren nicely reviewed as always 👍🏽 muscle man lol 🤣😂 🎯 happy darting 🎯
LOL cheers Vic! :)
It was pretty stable so not a problem there.
It looks a bit better from the oche than seeing it from the side like I showed and I think for the majority of people the wobble that is there will be tolerable 😊
Very nice review, thank you!
Is there any information on the footprint of this stand, as in, how much space do the legs need when unfolded? The product photos give the impression as if it takes up less space compared to other stands I've found on the internet but can't find even ballpark information about what the actual number is.
Thanks 👍 I think it is variable depending on how much you open the legs. At a rough guess I would say about 2 feet square 🙂
Question, how to position the stand after, so the to fet the right angle?
not sure what you mean exactly, you can adjust the legs and height so just have to set it right height and you could use a level or gauge by eye?
@@DartsReviewChannelcan the board be rotated on this stand
What is the correct height on this? There is only 5 holes but the 4th one looks abit to low but the 5th one looks abit to high?😅
I know, you have to set it to the usual height, can't really go by the holes as the legs can move it out anyway.
How much is it mate
The Unicorn Portable Dartboard Kit is a much better option than a stand - in my opinion.
A whole lot easier to carry around, setup, and it's also a whole lot more stable with zero wobble (depending on the type of door)
Don't suppose you've done a review on that, have you mate?
No but someone on the forum did a few years ago: www.dartsnutz.net/forum/thread-3541.html
@@DartsReviewChannel - Ah, appreciate that, mate. Noticed there's next to no reviews on the product on RUclips, and I do wonder why.
Anyway - keep up the dedicated work you're doing for us on here. I've watched many of your vids and have based a lot of my purchases on what your opinions are.
Subbed, and just given you a follow on Twitter. Top man 👍
@@Its_A_London_Thing Cheers mate! :)
Using Winmau Xtreme lol , stand itself is good item but like with all stands issue is with rotation of the board .
Yeah they all have such quirks :)
@@DartsReviewChannel Rocky likes this product ? Or he ask more and more bisquits ? Lol 🦮
Got this about a year back, only just realised they didn’t give me the back support as soon as I got to putting it up, so I can’t send it back as it’s been a year since I got it 😂
maybe worth contacting them still though :)
不错呀,都卖到世界各地啦,呵呵呵,恭喜老板
Did you get given that screw that goes into the board?
No I think it was from the board
@@DartsReviewChannel okay I don’t have that I just have a really small one for the wall, do u think I could get one from B&Q?
@@kyleleslie4806 probably, its just a normal screw that comes with dartboards
@@DartsReviewChannel okay thanks, I tried some screws I had lying around but the head wasnt big enough for it
@@DartsReviewChannel no worries mate, any idea why my 4 legs that are meant to sit on the board only 3 of them are the top one isn’t touching the board?
Got this stand but never managed to get it back into the 'travel' bag to move it 🙃
LOL! :)
It wobbles a bit much for me, id say I'd prefer the Winmau vertex better as it's strong and doesnt wobble when it's against the wall
That's great if you have a wall to put it against.
Can you still rotate the board when using a different T20 segment
you need to unscrew it
I have similar stand in my mum's flat
Cool! :)
you're so funny... (muscles)
lol :P
I feel like if you threw Ryan searles darts at this it would go flying
lol
I hate this stand, height distance to throw...you Always do everytime...
I know what you mean but its like that with others I have used too, guess its just a part of the pain of using one, which is why it would be great if they could make a way to make it super easy but not really sure how as the legs would have to be set the same to make it right each time. Maybe a built in laser level that tells you when its the right height, but that would put the price up a fair bit.
@@DartsReviewChannel I did one myself, once you have open and find height you can score central tube with a white marker so everytime you open you are sure about height.
For distance is all another story, I tried to built a portable oche with holes for legs of my stand, but isn't so Easy.
Finally I give up because even if I'll try a system dartboard constantly move every darts you throw.
I really tried for months to find a solution for everyone have this issue, but for now the only way is with a built-in laser, but there are many problems too.
Sorry for my English if somebody want to now something can answer me in this post ;)
@@memento316 On the wall is the best no doubt about it but if you cant do it that way then a stand is a good alternative, they all have the same issues which you just have to live with if you have no other option :)
that wobble is a deal breaker for me. 180 is hard enough let alone on a moving target!
Yeah they all wobble but its less obvious from the oche, depends how hard and fast you throw though on how quickly it settles :)
No dart stand review ever goes over specifics on rotating your dart board. That’s a deal breaker for most and a very important fact to include in a review. No complete pros and cons list in this review.
There is no special way to rotate other than loosening the screw as I showed and mentioned at the end, I think some things are just common sense that I would have guessed most would grasp without having to explain everything in minute detail, in the case of this stand its fixed to the bracket so it stands to reason if you set it up that way you also need to loosen it to be able to rotate it. As for pros and cons I think I mentioned pretty much all of the relevant ones throughout the whole video.
@@DartsReviewChannel Great review Darren, what does Rocky think of the dartboard stand
@@rayphillips6060 Thanks! he is happy with it
