ThinkPad at this price will literally beat every other laptops unless someone's specifically looking for dedicated graphics card also.
Especially linux is so nice in it.

Most places they say typing is good in Lenovo Thinkpad. But personally I found ThinkBook and Yoga models have awesome keypads with less height keys.
It's just a matter or preferrences no big deal

For autocad I'll suggest you to go for laptop like HP Victus which comes with a graphic card. If you want lenovo you can also go for the Lenovo Loq laptop.

Depends on which series of elitebook or thinkpad you are talking aboutt for example the elitebook 840 series is better than the thinkpad e14 series.

Many part numbers of the ThinkPad E14 comes with prep-installed windows while many of them does not have windows pre installed so that you can install your favourite OS whether it is home or professional.
