That VRAM usage at 8K Ultra + RT + DLSS +FG was hitting like 19-20Gigs....DAMN 💀 Thats the highest vram usage I've ever seen
Minecraft with shaders and texture packs can use upwards of 20gb vram pretty easily lol
warzone was eating full VRAM if it had more VRAM like Quadro 48GB it would've using much more than 24GB

Did you see? The frame rate drops when he was using 8K DLSS around 18:55 happened because he was using all 24GB of VRAM. Crazy!
someone needs to show that to Nvidia so their 4080 has more VRAM than 12 GBs
That's what video memory is for in games! the same thing happened to the 3060 with 12gb when activating rt+dlss, it consumed the 12gb to give it better performance. people never understood why you need so much memory, now they know!

For those saying he's set the traffic density to medium: There Is currently no CPU that can handle the 4090, so setting down CPU settings to medium helps minimizing the bottlenecks as the GPU Is so powerful It bottlenecks even higher resolutions, and even then, There Is still space to squeeze some more out of the 4090 when the new CPUs come out, especially with the 4090 TI version...
At the cost of added latency and weird issues with v-sync or freesync, still cool tech but need some time to mature. Will be pointless for the lower models since you'll get less latency at lower frame rates than with frame gen on at higher frame rates, weird stuff indeed.
@@5izzy557 Yeah, and add the Total lack of DSP 2.0 and gaming with the 4090 at 120+ FPS at 4k Is rendered totally useless, and even if It could, It would still only apply to modern gen as It lacks PCI gen 5 so Will not be able to use the full Power of next gen monitors and bottleneck Memory bandwidth(all features which we Will not be getting on the 4090TI either as Jensen added that he feels like "gamers don't Need It" at this point in time, implying we won't be getting them anytime soon)implying It won't be getting the performance Spike it's getting now in the future games, so basically playing at 4K 120 won't feel any different than playing 1440p above 120 on a 1080TI, which Is hilarious at best.
This card has an awesome generational Uplift in terms of performance, but It's like a Bull chasing a flag: it's litterally all It has, Numbers and that's It, Just to show Nvidia's RAW muscle strength and nothing more.
In terms of all the other feature It totally lacks 100%, overall not worth the hussle for $1600 dollars, and it's not even nitpicking really, beacuse we're asking for Nvidia to give/optimize very basic features that should be a standard for all the GPUs by 2022, and nothing else.

I guess the optical flow has a fixed cost at up to 4k and then the cost is increased significantly above 4K which makes sense based on how optical flow works in video editing softwares like Davinci Resolve.

I love these videos benchmarking tech, I think its just lacking a picky detail from my part, but I like to see it: limited fps, for example, I'd like to see how much smoother the frame times could be when this GPU was limitted to 120 fps at 4k "Ultra". Rivatuner when used to limit performance for some reason usually stabilizes the frame timmings.
But with this out of the way, Great video, we got to see DLSS 3.0 and what to expect from this massive toaster :D .

I think Crysis Remastered only has DLSS 2.0 but I am more interested in pure Rasterizing performance.
Actually, DanteGTX already did a test with that game, in his latest video i think, it's in spanish but that doesn't matter that much

I've never seen anyone benchmark it on 4k with DLAA. Everyone does it with dlss and would request you to do a DLAA test as well and compare the image quality with both ♥️
Power drops by a good amount with ray tracing and frame generation. Might be worth it just for that for a few rare artifacts and minor input lag added.
This card is just mind-blowing. Especially when he used DLSS, FG, and Ray tracing. I mean 150+ fps on 4k ultra with ray tracing is just unfathomable

RTX4090 is the First 8k and 4K HFR capable gaming GPU. Also a rendering/ AI compute beast (that difference is no joke even greater than games)

i play this game at 4k ultra dlss quality rt on my 3090 and its crazy seeing just how much of an uplift the 4090 is in performance

Wow, surprisingly u got rly good PC set up for a tech blogger :) usually its crappy DDR4 and shity case, but ur build it kinda ok. 5800XD so hot tho, 72 degree when the GPU on 8k with RT only 60-65, such an impressive cooling they got in this gen even on founders cards, just sick.
Can't believe that even 9k cant load up this GPU on 99% permanently.
Thnx for the video, just rly information ppl needs to know, altho the info about the power limits of the card would be great also, i heard that 450w is pretty enough, u dont get any permeance even on 600, so u can undervolt the card easily and it will work just like on full stock just way cooler.

The most important and impressive segment is the native 8K , you should do more videos on that, Native 8K without DLSS or Frame Generation, and without Anti-Aliasing too please.
I think most people would be okay playing at 30fps if it means NATIVE , REAL 8K.
Interesting to see how turning off frame generation saves you 4GB of VRAM when on 8K, without a big performance hit. On lower resolutions turning it off might be more efficient on cards with only 12 or 16gb of memory.

Rumor is that the 3080 and up are going to get a driver tweak to enable dlss 3 and some other performance goodies to appease the angry owners who dropped a couple of grand on them. The latest driver upped dx12 performance on 30xx gpu by up to 30% for the higher binned models and around 10~15% for the mid to low end.

18:14 high refresh rate 8k monitors won’t be around for at least another generation or two considering the max HDMI 2.1 can do is 60hz, and 85hz is the max on DP 2.0 (which was omitted on the 4090)

You should honestly always set to minimum clouds quality setting (i forgot how its called). Its just do nothing but eat a lot of frames for some reason.
The RTX 4090 is a beast of a GPU.
I think you should try this videogame on one of the MONSTERS of Nvidia's Quadro RTX A-series GPUs. (like the Nvidia Quadro RTX A6000)

This frame generation tech is very nice, i hope consoles get it too bcos consoles need it considering their hardware is static unlike pc. It can eliminate cpu bottlenecks if any consoles.
Consoles dont need this. 20 fps is much more than enough 😂
