    Didn't think I'd find watching a light replacement interesting, but here we are :) Pretty interesting stuff and I can see this helping a lot of people. Interesting design choice of them to put the ariel right above the internal lights, but they didn't think that one through.

    Great video. I have an issue with my vw crafter 07, with the internal alarm going off randomly and draining the battery. I want to disable the alarm, either by pressing a button or disconnecting a cable as I'm sick of the battery being drained flat as the van is kept in storage. Any advice on how to achieve this would be great , thank you.....T.

    • @UrbanVanlife
      @UrbanVanlife  Год назад

      Really depends how long it’s in storage for mate . If it’s longer than a month then the only thing you could do is iscolate the battery TOTALY so the van has no power . Even clocks and other non used things will pull a draw on the battery and flatten it after a few weeks . You could fit a total kill swich that disconnects the battery and mount it under the bonnet . Obviously you would have to lock the van then kill the battery and close the bonnet and then re open it with the key , connect battery then open it with central locking . This would keep the battery in a longer state of charge . Also add as quite a good anti theft as well

      1 a van has lots of sensors

      3 dose it go off all the time
      4 by going off do you mean
      The alarm goes off
      The dash gets a light
      The can won’t start
      The engine cuts out
      The engine goes in to limp mode
      5 with out knowing all of the above only then can you figure out what to do

      @@UrbanVanlife an issue like that can cost a fortune and leave you stranded. Oh by the way it was a bit tongue in cheek as I used the word from your hand tattoo. Sorry lol.

    Sooty you sent money your going to spend again you need to remove your head liner put in sound proofing and insulation if you want to see why the next time you sleep in it with heating on take the head unit out and see how much condensation is in there also spray the unit with loads of wd40 will be putting a video up with this in in a couple of weeks

      putting sound insulation and actual insulation dose not stop the leak mate if there is one , also is the wet gets in to the insulation then your buggered , the front of the van get all the weather and is at some point going to let some water in m from the aerial or the window surround , if any thing i would not put any insulation there , i mean vw dont insulate any of there conversions and nor do the big conversion companys they just sound deaden , cos there needs to be air flow for when moisture gets in , its unavoidable

    I have the new shape sprinter and I’m having the same issue.. it’s brand new though so I don’t think it’ll be moisture related. If anyone knows of a solution please let me know. My neighbors want to kill me right now 😂😂

      man that sucks , and yer when ours was going off man next door was not happy cos it started at like 2am till about 3 , at first i umpluged the battery untill i figured it out , one thing it may be on yours if its not the unit its self is the micro swiches in your doors mate , i know they can ware in time and cause big problems

    Jesus christ block connectors on the wiring? Cowboy jobis that

    • @UrbanVanlife
      @UrbanVanlife  3 года назад

      there is nothing wrong with using block connectors as long as you use them properly , solder the cables that are going in to the block and dont tighten them to much , i mean every single 240v house socket uses a form of built in block connector on the them , so im guessing every one with a house is a cowboy
