Honestly this is a combo of terrifying and just depressing. And the worst part is in order to even achieve this ending you need to go out of your way to push the cat of your nightstand every night... So in the end you probably did this purely to see what happened... And the game ultimately makes you feel like a piece of crap because in a sense... ...you (the player) are responsible for turning a child's dead mother into her worst nightmare...
The lines, “You can’t possibly have any nightmares… if you can’t sleep. No nightmares… other than me.” are so cold. It makes the player regret pushing the little cat off the nightstand, knowing they doomed the protagonist to a nightmare she can’t ever wake from.
