I listen to this wonderful song frequently, always when winter here on the East Coast drags on and the daffodils have yet to show. A beautifully melancholy feeling.
Thank you so much for this post. I had the good fortune to have seen them in person back in October of 66. What I remember most is when I was walking from the concert hall and got a few blocks away. I was crossing on a green light. The car behind the red light, a limo, had the Mamas and Papas in there. I crossed the street right in front of the limo and saw them inside there. I remember that more than I remember the concert. Ironically within a couple of weeks I left California and went to the east coast, but in two months I returned to California.
That is awesome!! Do you remember anything about how they sounded? I’ve heard that they sounded just like the recordings. It’s a shame there are only videos of TV shows available on here where they’re lip syncing.

Cool, I saw them in Baltimore October 66. I was 13 and my first concert.
