I kinda miss when the zombies lore was more subtle in the older games. It had that more "what caused this?" or "I just need to survive" vibe. I love where zombies is now, don't get me wrong, but it's just weird to see how it went from "Survive nazi zombies" to "Save the universe from giant ancient aliens."

(At 0:24) Then the song gets intense. (At 0:45) Then it sounds kinda adventurous. When I hear this, it fills me with bravery and determination. (Btw, I wasn't trying to make an Undertale reference LOL). (At 1:09) Holy Shit!! Now this is epic!! (At 2:02) Then some weird ominous ghostly chanting or singing choir goes on. Then them violins tho. Then the chanting stuff comes back. (At 2:33) The song ends (At 3:37) And repeats (At 3:38) What a beautiful track of music. COD Zombies really has evolved. I still wish they would remake the DAMNED song for BO4 though. It would be nice to see how it would sound in this game. Like after this song plays in the menu, then ends, then the new DAMNED song will play. Then the default, and so it repeats. Does anyone agree?? I know what you're thinking. Only game i preorder, and i remember hearing this at 1AM on October 12 of 2018, me being so excited for the launch of the game. Probably only got like 3-5 hours of sleep that day. Zombies although wasn't as good as we all thought it would. At least blackout was amazing.
Am I the only one who likes this new theme immensely over the previous zombies themes? The theme reminds you the situation is getting more and more dire as the zombies are evolving to greater heights, on a massive scale as more and more boss zombies are emerging as well as special zombies. I have been playing COD since COD 2 Big Red One and every single one since then, as well as every zombies installment since WaW. This theme is my new favorite tbh (even tho the old theme will always have a place in my heart) and I have to say IX is becoming one of my all time favorite zombie maps as well regardless of it not having the OG classic crew. The layout of it is just perfect and the mechanics to the map as well, straightforward simple tasks and surviving an onslaught of bosses/zombies rushing at you in an arena.
Classified- five was kinda bad, this is a little bit better 6/10 Voyage of Despair- complex and hard, but some sections are fun... 6+/10 BotD- Classic map made better and worse at the same time... mixed opinions but overall I give it 9-/10 (mob was 9+ for me) IX- Simillar to Shadows of Evil in terms of layout which for me has the best map layout in the entire zombies. 9/10 (SoE was 9+)
Not gonna lie I personally thought this theme was better than the version of damned we have for this game… I also wish they would’ve added a setting where you could switch between the two

That old school, piano zombies theme, I still remember that first black ops sound of the screen changing when you select zombies and that theme slowly coming in.. I can still see that zombie in the back hitting the tempered glass haha
'Damned' will always stick to being the most iconic music for Black Ops Zombies and holds a good place in my heart. However, this new theme is something else. Personally I love intense, orchestral music so this really hit a soft spot. A breath of fresh air for menu music. I love it! I much prefer it to Damned

As awesome as Damned is, and it will always be one of the main themes of Treyarch Zombies, replacing it with this new theme was smart. Not only do we have an entirely new storyline to play with Chaos, but even the Aether story is beginning to break down. The Kronorium has called for the Primis Cycle to break, we *_finally_* have post _Moon_ Ultimis back. We *lose* someone in the Aether storyline (avoiding spoiling who for those still unaware), and even MPD!Samantha just wants this all to end underneath her hatred of Group 935. Everything is coming to a head, and the music is changing with that.

This gives me memories of how all the zombies after bo3 were quickly losing the things that made them fun and hard, no more remembering how many times you could shoot and knife a zombie depending on the round, trying your best to get as many points as possible within as little rounds as possible while kistening to guide and then doing everything from memory, all the good and dificult easter eggs and a story that still somewhat made sense, all gone
I know I’m gonna get hate for this. But I actually thought chaos had potential. I loved the mythological theme to it as well as the magic and the gods. It’s a shame the mechanics were not the best

I think it's great the way they did it. Black Ops 1 had damned to give that creepy, "why the hell are nazis now zombies?" vibe, Black Ops 2 was more of a "Holy shit. The earth is overrun and broken now. Fight to survive and fix this" track, Black Ops 3 had a "Come on. You're getting close to the end now. You will finish what you started, for the sake of the universe", and this one has a sinister "Things just got really out of hand. You're at a point of no return. Find your courage, fight. Fight to the end. You must succeed. End this hell" and I think it fits the path of the zombies storyline quite well.
