That's the most disturbing statement "we ask them if they are willing to serve their sentence in their country of origin"? First and foremost they are in a country illegally, secondly they have committed a crime now you give them an option? There is something wrong there with our legal system. We have our own people who are law abiding citizens, they are never given any options. They are left to fend for themselves. If being a part of AU is causing us to be bullied then we need to reconsider our membership. We cannot be giving illegal immigrants who are also criminals any options. That's disgusting.
@vjchabane9795 unfortunately you are not willing to face the hard truth. Correction centers are not doing much if we look at the statistics of reoffenders and the subsequent offenses they commit. Prison and the justice system is a joke in SA which is why the crime issues in Mzansi will not be dealt with any time soon
@@lebogangnyatlo1334 But my guy where did you develop the thought that crime has a capability of ever being dealt with? Crime is a human phenomenon that will exist for eternity, we found it here and will leave it here. You’re asking for the impossible. Commit crime, go to jail, reoffend, go back to jail… simple. Those who wanna charge will change, Those who do not will not change. You wanna blame the prison and justice for adult choices…
its so disheartening to see how the South African system can be counterintuitive. A prisoner can earn a degree while incarcerated, while a diligent student struggles to secure funding. This raises questions about the education systems priorities and whether it adequately rewards hard work.
@@joymofokeng5440explain joy.....the problem with this rehabilitation system is that the leniency forms a precedent that life in prison is not so bad.....that's why so many don't feel afraid to go back in
Ntate Nxumalo sounds like someone who knows his work a lot wow as a person who once loved working at the DCS I am aware of a lot happening and he said a lot that left me believing that he knows and understands his department...thank you David
Great show, cant help but be left with more questions in my head than answers. Feels a lot like the bigger battle is aligning the government entities that operate the institutions. Not just the prisons but the involvement of DHA, Dep Health etc.
55:41 It doesn't make sense that they have to ask a foreign inmate if they want to serve time in their country or here. If you are found in the streets you are deported, no questions asked but once you commit a crime you can negotiate, WOW
Thank you for bringing us uZwide Mr David always admire the man's etiquette when conducting interviews, says a lot about his character and personality. God bless brothers 🙏
South africa has the most nicest and more lenient prisons in Africa and in the world, where a foreign prisoner is even afforded an opportunity to choose where to go and serve what to eat ,at whose tax payers income, Viva anc and eff for illegal foreigners
37:02 He just doesn't want to accept GNU is exposing these issues, can he tell us when and how many times did they do that in the previous 5 years before the GNU
Chief you are actually incorrect about not being able to pickup a phone and call whoever you want.... My brother use to call me daily when he was behind bar's! We chatted on socials etc. Now I know this isn't news to you because you are aware of this so please don't undermine US chief!
Correctional Services is a waste of taxpayers money. Why are these foreigners in SA prisons? Why are are these people being educated on the expense of SA taxpayers? This is a joke…….
David should have question him about the GPS tracker bracelet for parolees, because some of these guys keep on reoffending brazenly not even scared of consequences.
The issue of inmates case being thrown out and he claims they just dissappear while some have underlying issues. Kganthe what is the job of the prison escort, are they not supposed to have the info regarding all prisoners attending court on the day?
They are all corrupt (And I have an uncle working there) either by Commission or Omission. There needs to be a more strict standard. We treat crime like a joke
I disagree with some of the stuff Mr Nxumalo is defending but I realize that he is also guided by the constitution. These human rights need to be evaluated and adapted to the issues that we are facing. Someone who takes someone's last right which is life, is still eligible to rights and rights that are better than someone who is obedient and abides to the laws of the country. I guess we need to change this human rights as a society because they are no longer serving the purpose of which they were initially intended,
Beautiful interview but I have to disagree with you do attend to reported cases specially when it comes to domestic violence, I was living in Kroonstad when I was dating a guy called Thabang Molokoane I opened so many cases for that guy, but nothing was done the police never had vans available and then eventually when the a white lady helped doctors where not willing to fill in the injury form(can't even remember what the name of the form was) I think IR88 or something and some police would actually take R50 bribes from this guy, I still remember the faces of those police offices and the CIDS also did nothing, so how and where are we supposed to report these cases we live the rest of our lives with the trauma of being abused and police not been of any help, I'm married now with a loving husband and two beautiful boys but I still live with the trauma of being abused and this guy was never persecuted for what he did, I hope the correctional and police services will do better, because in the prisons aswel we have too many corrupt service providers
We are very lenient with prisoners 🤞🏾,offenders must work for their meals, they should assist the municipality's with cleaning the streets

aaaaai thugs has more rights than law abiding citizens.
That last part was very important!!! It is very disgusting indeed
it clearly seems like they are being funded by something to keep them within SA
The passion and knowledge from this leader is amazing
, all the best to him 🙏🏾🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤
He trully is a communicator, clear simple english straight to the point. Love the linguistic inteference❤.
uMnguni, what a great spin doctor. Well trained civil servant on how to say nothing and seem to BE saying something. He spoke theory all the way.
No he did not. `Why are you lying

I was wondering how women used to meet inmates on facebook, exit, bbm and recently WhatsApp.
We're in trouble as a nation
They're even on dating apps. Imagine.
I love this guy, he is a good communicator. I just dislike his poor life choices regarding diet and health...
Eh eh eh😳

Agreef. I believe some prefers prison. They lost everything and so prison is better than outside.
only a few of them who are corrupt but 34000 phones ?🤣🤣🤣🤣south africa is full of jokes

The topic of kids in jail is very sad
No manpower at all in most prison
54:00 such an explanation of not sending foreigners back to their country when they have been proven guilty is so funny
