Finally! An in focus video for this great bag. By the way the loops at the bottom and sides are for the backpack configuration. I know this because this is my go-to work bag with my Brompton.
@@acey850 Ah, thanks for this ... there's noting on the instructions about the magic loop buckles! Whilst I have your attention, do you have any tips for stopping the metal bukles and straps from banging against the handlebar stem as you ride?
@@darrencoates I just inserted the bag handle to that metal clip to keep it up. Mostly it works and prevents the irritating clanking sound. I was meaning to wrap the handlebar stem next to that metal with something to keep it from clanking, but never really got around to do it. 😅
I bought one last summer as a work bag - as you say it’s fine as such. With mine however the round carabiner rings were prone to turn unnoticed in their mounting loop to a position where they open. One managed to come out of its loop then bafflingly fly off the strap gone forever. Brompton kindly offered to replace it but instead I fitted a couple of small stainless D-shackles that feel totally secure. I’d also say if bag is full the front pocket will just about fit a mask and nothing else. Wonderfully informative videos - you make life with my Brompton so much easier - thank you!
Been using the bag for 3 months now. Fantastic add. really useful as a go to work bag and waterproof. Carried at least 1.5 litres of water and basic essentials with additional space.
I have this bag too, but I find the metal clip on the rear annoying as it keeps banging against the handlebar stem as I cycle along unless I clip it awkwardly out of the way and onto the handle. Could be designed better there, unless there's an obvious solution I've missed.
Always a gentle, interesting and fun review for you, and the nappy is inspired use of an otherwise necessary but mundane item, thanks for taking the time to do these videos, so wonderfully! 😀👏👏👏👏👏😊🙏
I do own the Borough Bag Small. A very good glove box for the small things you need when on tour. What's annoying me badly is that the snap hook always hit against the handlebar post. I hate this «ding, ding, ding» jingle sound. But I have a solution: just take a 16 inch inner tube that you don't need anymore. Cut off a piece in the length of the snap hook. Wipe away the talcum powder from the inner side and slip it over the snap hook. Simple and cheap!
Great bag. Nappy test was brilliant! I wonder how that was discovered? I'd like to see a similar O-bag solution for the Brompton Electric but will settle for a rain cover until then...
Thank goodness. What about the Large Navy Blue version of the Borough Waterproof Bag and of course unusual bags such as the Frietag Coltrane and some Demano bags
The little loops at the bottom of the bag are for attaching the webbing strap onto. I've been looking for a water resistant or waterproof bag for my B75, something to carry at least my laptop and sandwiches and some extra gubbins, but I haven't found anything that takes my fancy either in style or colour so I've designed and began making my own. Perhaps I'll pop by one day and show it off.
@@brilliantbikes It has been a learning experience in many ways, working with new materials, understanding the engineering that actually goes into something like this. The bag is now complete and undergoing on bike durability testing, so far so good. The carbon fibre support plate keeps it rigid and steady on the mount, it barely moves when I'm riding. I may have to make a wee video to show it off.
Hello, excellent video I was wondering if it’s possible to service the folding pedal on my really old Brompton as it’s starting to feel gritty/loose and how difficult it is to do?any help would be appreciated ,Neil.
Thank you so much for watching and for the question. It is a lovely waterproof jacket and not hot to ride in. It has hand covers that cover the back of your hands and stop that horrible water running down into your gloves!
Helpful review (as always) of the Borough waterproof bag! Thank you. May I ask who makes the rain jacket you're wearing during the video? It looks ideal for cycling in the rain.
So sorry I got all muddled up! We did get a 16 inch MacBook Pro - but that was a very tight fit and not so easy to get back put, a 13 inch would fit fine.
Love your videos. As others have said, the lower side loops are for the backpack configuration. You move the strap from the upper loops and reattach to the bottom side loops. My only concern is that you intentionally left the bike outside in the rain. Isn't that some sort of criminal bike abuse??? 😢😢😢
So sorry 😢 we took notice on our next waterproof test and: 1 - left the bags out alone 2 - joined the bags and the Brompton for the test (a bit wet!) 3 - cleaned the wet Brompton Thank you for pointing out the Brompton abuse! Hopefully this time it was OK.
You can use the loops at the bottom as an alternative way of closing the bag - instead of rolling the top, fold it over and the loops can be used. Not sure if it is designed that way, but it works.
The front pocket is useless in the rain, especially when cycling as it lets in a lot of water. The water pools inside the pocket and stays there. A pocket on the back would’ve been a better design.
@@brilliantbikes Yes it was :) At the beginning had water only in the pocket compartment but now I can find water at the bottom of the main compartment... Congratulations on your videos. Great work!

Thank you!!! That makes sense!!
Hi. I’ve just got this bag but I don’t understand how the loops work for the back pack set up. Any chance you could share some tips?!
@@darrencoates it’s just like at 03:47 except the two end rings connect to the loops at either bottom side loops. The rings open up like a carabiner

Late to the party but the little loops on the side are for the yet to be released Brompton earrings
😂🤣! Thank you for watching and making me smile!

So glad 🙂 you are finding it useful! We also think it’s a great sized bag

The little loops on the sides are for the straps in the backpack mode as shown in the official video: ruclips.net/video/eHwPRtI_ZKk/видео.html
Good to see another video from you, thank you. PS still waiting to see who is hiding behind the Camera. Take care.
Ah he hides… and Thank you for watching.
sorry to hear mini O bag discontinued. Must now take better care of mine. The Borough looks useful fitting somewhere between my other bags.
Many thanks for watching, I know it’s a shame the O-Bag was discontinued.

You’re not alone in wanting an electric bag! We all have our fingers crossed
Thanks for the video! Do you think it would fit a 14 inch laptop?
Thanks for watching! Sorry for the delay, we had to try it and yes it fits perfectly!

Great video as always.
Thank you 😊
My pocket let in water too, so I used reflective tape to seal it up; main bag is very good, stays dry in the worst of weather aka British summer!
We were really surprised that the little pocket failed in heavy rain. Great idea with the tape.
great vids but how does it fit onto the bike? Thank you and cheers.
Thank your for watching and for the question. No it will not fit the electric as the front ferried block is different.
Thank you for this great review (as usual) 👍👍👍 cheers
Thank you 🙏 😀

We normally recommend upgrading to a new one, sorry it’s easier
@@brilliantbikes no bother cheers for the reply 👀
Great video, thanks! Do you know if an A4 book would fit into this?
Maybe hook the straps on the little hook on the sides to make it a better rack sack?
It sounds like that’s what they are for - we need to have a try.
Can u do all the other waterproof bags for Brompton..
Many thanks for the idea 💡
Aww, we didn't see you snap the bag into the luggage block. How does it look on the bike?
Oh so sorry! We will try to cover it in the next bag video
Well done product introduction. I liked your jacket, does it include rain mittens?

Many thanks for watching and the question. It’s a cycling jacket from Norrona, really great.
Can you attach it to the bike when the bike is folded up?
Yes, it can just pop back on when folded
Is the new bag as good as the Ortleib bag?
We have not done a head to head comparison, but the new bag does seem waterproof, and convenient to carry

Too bad it's only in navy. Doesn't quite go with my racing green. I'd buy a black one right now if I could.
That’s a shame! They do a larger one in black, which is lovely

😂 LOL we did give him an umbrella hat…
