I keep saying this, but: North is a generally violent character, so it makes sense to be with her in the violent endings. On the other hand, Simon is a more peaceful character, so it makes a lot more sense if he’s the one Markus chooses when it comes to peaceful endings. The fact that Markus gets with North either way is irritating.
Did some quick researching since I've been wondering about this too. Apparently you can jump two people with a tandem parachute, but the ones they had in the game was likely single parachutes. Still, it is possible to share one if neither person weights too much. There is a possibility that androids are way heavier than an average human, but let's say they're not. Still, you would have double the weight of one person, and would decend much faster, resulting in a rough landing and possible broken bones. This would obviously be preferrable to dying, but in this case, two androids who might be hurt enough to not run away would not be good. But, there is of course also a small chance of just minor damage and possible escape.

He shows genuine concern for him but also just respects and believes in the choices that Markus makes, which I find is really lacking with North if you go pacifist route. No hate on North, I just couldn’t understand why a romance path was forced if she was constantly disagreeing with you. I wish they incorporated Simon confessing his feelings and just giving the player the option to return them or just stay friends.
Oh, agreed. That scene shattered me when I first watch it, because he’s so much more _genuine_ than North and Josh who don’t seem to care about Markus as deeply and only seem to use his moral teetering compass as leverage for the liberty of their people.

That is exactly my thought. Markus simply had more chemistry and support with Simon. Even that scene with Lucy seemed to have more chemistry between the characters than that one of North's past. North could have been a good character, but the forced romance reduced her to "the girl who ends up with the protagonist".
I'll be honest, I actually thought Simon was a love interest for Markus. During my first playthrough, my dumbass got him killed when Connor checks the roof. So when I played through it again, I had Simon live and I was very disappointed that he wasn't a possible love interest. Especially after that hug.

Simon is by far one of my favourite characters. He shows so much empathy and emotions that even i forget that he’s actually and android. i understand that they cut out the option due to time, just wish it was included in some DLC. Guys i played Detroit become human and i saved simon from the revolution and the the blue arrow went up and simon was a syntrofos which in greek means boyfriend or girlfriend but a mistake could have happened at the translation so i will play it again it english and we shall see EDIT: in English it said companion
When i first saw him he looked creepy with his big soulful eyes but there was also a warm presence resonating from him it was only after progressing and completing the game 4 the first time that my view of him changed dramatically i SO and i mean SO wished markus got with him instead of north
What I don't understand is why, when Simon was shot at the TV tower, Marcus was so idiotic as to try to make him walk on his own, while slowing everyone down and increasing the risk of more victims. What was the problem with just picking up Simon or throwing him on your back and carrying him to the roof? Much less time would have been spent. I doubt that Simon is very heavy, and the load capacity of the android, even if it is not reinforced, like Luther, is still higher than that of a human.

I love Simon, thank you for compiling. Although every time someone shoots him I feel emotionally battered, wish someone had made video without the bad bits - maybe there is just too little of him for that. He is such a loyal, simple, unproblematic character who isn't pasicifist at cost of his friends but also doesn't have one ounce of actual bloodthirst. And with simple I don't mean stupid, it's just that he doesn't overcomplicate what he says or ever cause problems with what he does and is always on point and very much needed where he speaks. Very opposite of all Indiana Jonesy types people who were born 90s grew up with because he is humble, gentle, supportive and someone you can basically count to have your back that is simultaneously semi-invisible and also absolutely necessary.

Imo these two could go either direction, romantically or platonically. Simon looks up on Markus, for sure. But that alone doesn’t indicate he’s got romantic feelings about him. Before Markus showed up Simon was practically the leader/spokesperson of Jericho. Watching what Markus achieving so much for Jericho than the freedom he initially envisioned could give him great inspiration and motivation to follow and support him however he can with great enthusiasm. Now add a little personal feeling into that and it can turn into a romantic thing. The thing is whether to or not to. Personally I don’t see the harm of not to. And they do make a cute couple. But I’m fine with the comradely thing as well. Lovelife isn’t everything, you know. Especially in the game where they’re at the turning point of a AI revolution.

What I don't understand is why, when Simon was shot at the TV tower, Marcus was so idiotic as to try to make him walk on his own, while slowing everyone down and increasing the risk of more victims. What was the problem with just picking up Simon or throwing him on your back and carrying him to the roof? Much less time would have been spent. I doubt that Simon is very heavy, and the load capacity of the android, even if it is not reinforced, like Luther, is still higher than that of a human.

I love Simon, thank you for compiling. Although every time someone shoots him I feel emotionally battered, wish someone had made video without the bad bits - maybe there is just too little of him for that. He is such a loyal, simple, unproblematic character who isn't pasicifist at cost of his friends but also doesn't have one ounce of actual bloodthirst. And with simple I don't mean stupid, it's just that he doesn't overcomplicate what he says or ever cause problems with what he does and is always on point and very much needed where he speaks. Very opposite of all Indiana Jonesy types people who were born 90s grew up with because he is humble, gentle, supportive and someone you can basically count to have your back that is simultaneously semi-invisible and also absolutely necessary.

Imo these two could go either direction, romantically or platonically. Simon looks up on Markus, for sure. But that alone doesn’t indicate he’s got romantic feelings about him. Before Markus showed up Simon was practically the leader/spokesperson of Jericho. Watching what Markus achieving so much for Jericho than the freedom he initially envisioned could give him great inspiration and motivation to follow and support him however he can with great enthusiasm. Now add a little personal feeling into that and it can turn into a romantic thing. The thing is whether to or not to. Personally I don’t see the harm of not to. And they do make a cute couple. But I’m fine with the comradely thing as well. Lovelife isn’t everything, you know. Especially in the game where they’re at the turning point of a AI revolution.
