That advice on doing ur best anyway and always aiming for the best is genius. I started praying lately and certainly it's not always a high. But i try to aim for it all the time - or as much as i really care about my prayer/craft really. You get what you aim for eventually.

Harry speaking real truth about performing to cold audiences. I put so much work into my solo show, reps, rehearsals and gigs, that if I get a bum crowd sure I don't like it, but it's not going to affect my performance one bit. I just fall back into my bag and play to appease myself if people aren't bringing the energy to meet me. At the same time, I can only push the energy up to the level the audience allows me to. And I'm prepared for that every single time. It mostly doesn't get to where I want it, but I'm always ready to rock the f out when I have a lit crowd in front of me.

RUclips is awesome for learning skills. I taught myself 3D modelling for the past 2 years, and recently my gf went back to uni to learn graphics design, and had some 3D classes, and I'm surprised everyday when checking out her lessons, how actually industry accurate my level is. All she's being taught, I learnt on my own. it took much more time, and much more energy (horrible to find yourself in those situation when you know the answer is somewhere on google, you just don't know what to google), but eventually, I managed to get myself to a very decent level in the field. Amazing for self growth, personal achievements, etc... You can literally learn ANYTHING online, mostly for free.

Applying my own thing to another person's ryhme and making it my own... eureka! That's how I used to do book reports in 2nd or 3rd grade! I have also just copied the back of a book for a book report once... SMH! THATS WHY MY RHYMES NOW HAVE WRINKLES IN THEM! ALSO WHY MY VOCABULARY SOUNDS AKIN TO GLOSSARY IN THE BACK OF AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEXTBOOK E.G. You are introverted bro, tbh it's very apparent (to someone else who is [might be bias and extroverts can't tell]).
But the sentiment of "not letting down the team" is a worry that gets you when you have that personality. The only thing is once you are a part of one, being the introvert is actually a big benefit as it makes you more aware of that fact (continually) so conscientious and pushes you to do your best (even better than what you think that'd be by doing for yourself alone). Keep doing you, I 💯 get how you are and what you do...but I'm quite sure a ton of people tell you that 😅. Anyways take care and stay up G.

Dr. Mckenzie! That's refreshing to hear you were into Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Mr Lif, etc because I always wondered -- figured you had to appreciate their lyricism given how they were such impactful pioneers. Regarding your opening segment here, I'd urge you to try to flip the fear by thinking of it the same way as that Nas' line you quoted. Instead of worrying about letting down your collaborators, think about how it could birth something amazing and trying is the required ingredient in order to at least try. No other way around it. Plus, the human body is amazing: as long as the passion is there to learn something, along with having accurate feedback, the human body will naturally get better with more and more experience. It kind of does it automatically if you're putting in the work. I know you know this, but I'm just saying that collaborating follows this, too, no different from your progression in freestyling and song writing.

I wonder if that is ingrained in you, via freestyling, that when you're in high stress situations like performing to large crowds, your path out and skill you can bank on is your rhythm and being completely in sync w/ beats.

I professionally competed in winter percussion (drumline). There is a lot of passion there but most states just don't have good drum programs. If you want to experience something different check out WGI Percussion Finals Open World Class in Dayton Ohio. It's a whole different level of music.
