Anyone can rave (and many have) about the look and build quality of these Replicades, but your expertise and background really stand out.

Hi Shane. New Wave Toys contacted me at the end of 2020 to help with Space Ace. I do not have my copy yet but was was glad to see my name in the manual in your video. The LDV-1000 laserdisc player that is included was based on the pictures of my player I sent them. I am glad you are enjoying it. Finishing Space Ace on the Space Ace difficulty is still a challenge. That roller skating scene energized is tough.

Yeah I was going to show the little laser disc player but I showed that on Dragon's Lair so I figured it was kind of wasted air time. I know what you mean about the roller skating maze. I remember when it was real money on the line I would always skip energizing. Now for me? The maze is part of the game LOL. Were you a technical consultant?

Yes. I helped with the first Dragon’s Lair cabinet they did and then they asked if I had the Space Ace conversion kit. I did, which includes the marquee, control panel, and the annunciator board which powered the lights on the level select volcano buttons. I was also a part of the Dragon’s Lair Advisory Board for the United Coders Nintendo DS game that you also worked on. It is a shame that never got released.

@@alanpinion760 thought your name looked a little familiar. That makes a lot of sense. Damn shame about the UC port. Did a lot of blood sweating and tears on that one. I can't even find my last build which really pisses me off. I thought I had it on one of my old flash cards but alas I seem to have lost it. Damn shame. Fine work on both cabinets my friend. Now I just need Dragon's Lair 2 and the trilogy is complete. :)

Awesome! Hey Shane, you should definitely review the GRS Build-a-Cade if you can get one. It's an amazing Raspberry Pi multicade and fits in perfectly with the 1/6 scale arcade units from Replicade!

Outside from the RUclips video from tntentertainment I’ve never seen any cabinet with pink molding around it. Also the arcade version had you go through most of the scenes twice. Each scene went in the opposite directions.

As my memory serves, the red t-molding was part of early DL->SA conversion kits. I'm guessing most arcade operators never bothered to replace the black molding of DL with it. Any kits you may still find for sale do not have the molding, so either my memory fails or perhaps they stopped shipping the molding to the arcade operators as part of the kit.
Space Ace is largely linear - especially in CADET mode. Dragon's Lair did play almost every scene twice (sometimes 3 or 4 times - aka the falling platforms) as well as a couple of random scenes not guaranteed to appear (knight on the horse for example). Ace was always the same game through every time - which was honestly kinda nice. The reverse scenes in Ace show up when playing on harder difficulties and as I recall, the reversals ARE random (at least on ACE level). On Cadet though, always the same game - no reversals.
