I may be wrong but I don't agree with that Einstein's quote. I don't know in what context he said that. I apologize in advance. But I think "Teaching" is an extension of "Understanding" , I think it goes in this manner , Knowing --> Understanding --> Teaching. I think you can be that person who knows and even understand the thing very well but don't have or never developed the skill to teach it. One example can be , Imagine professor and topper of same class. The topper knows it , understands it. But he can't teach like professor. I may be wrong but I don't agree with that Einstein's quote. I don't know in what context he said that. I apologize in advance.
But I think "Teaching" is an extension of "Understanding" , I think it goes in this manner , Knowing --> Understanding --> Teaching.
I think you can be that person who knows and even understand the thing very well but don't have or never developed the skill to teach it.
One example can be , Imagine professor and topper of same class. The topper knows it , understands it. But he can't teach like professor. On the other hand "If you introduce the professor to even a fresh concept , he will understand it and teach it better than topper".
So in my perspective if you see the logical mind as a machinery. Then there's a separate module that comes after [Knowing] , [Understanding] and this module first break down things understand it and then convert them in a way that It can be communicated in a simple or better form for "Others" , Which can be very different from the breaking down process "what you developed for your own understanding instead of others " .
ofc professor's quality of experience in teaching and their broader pedagogical knowledge, not just their understanding of the concept itself.

I feel teaching and understanding are two different concepts. You can only teach upto a certain level of basic. Advanced things always need to be done on an individual level.
I feel they are different anyways coz it's a different skill. One involves public speaking and being able to put your thoughts into words.
While understanding means simply sitting alone with a book and pen and paper. You need not be a public speaker over here.

@@godson200 Becoming a teacher or a well-established professor with decades of quality experience and research papers, no matter how seasoned or knowledgeable, one would be hard-pressed to deny the possibility of experiencing occasional bouts of anxiety. There is another level of training needed, even for teachers alone. and Successful teaching depends on various factors, including teaching style, adaptability, and passion for the subject, rather than just one's extroverted or introverted BS sold by the pop culture
@@ShwetabhSenpai I didn't even talk about pop culture. What I'm saying is, to be a good teacher, you need to be a good public speaker. 90% of teachers in India aren't good and I won't even call them teachers. And a good fraction of new teachers have a fear or anxiety in them.
And teaching isn't that kind of job where you can just shutup and work in a corner. Researchers can do that. And mostly highly researching individuals wont become professors. Yes they may deliver guest lectures and speeches but teaching on a daily basis isn't something they might do
