I do, however, wanna put my input in on this whole "Not All Men" bullshit. I've been raped, sexually assaulted, sexually harassed, and physically assaulted. I've been catcalled since the age of 10 because to men, "I don't look, dress, or act my age." I'm tired of people saying that being catcalled isn't a form of sexual assault.....um, sorry to burst your bubble, but yes, it is. It's also verbal harassment. Especially when you ignore their comments, and they start throwing out slurs like "Whore" "Slut" "Bitch" "Skank," tell me that's not verbal harassment cause it is. I've been threatened to get pregnant and threatened to be raped by dudes I don't even fucking know. I've been followed to my car and even to my house at night and in broad daylight. I have guys sending me dick pics on Snapchat all the fucking time talking bout some "you like" or "come suck it" I- I AIN'T ASK FOR THAT SHIT. That's fucking disgusting. I openly carry a taser, pepper spray, a knife, an alarm, a window breaker, a Kubaton, brass knuckles, and a whistle. Sadly, I can't take 6 out of the 8 items into sports events, concerts, or movie theaters because they are a weapon. To my Men: We know that it's "Not All Men' WE FUCKING KNOW THIS. But how is a female supposed to know which men will hurt her and which men aren't? Especially when we are out at night, walking to our cars, being outside in general. How are we supposed to know? We don't know, so therefore IT IS all men. * Also, stop continuing to ask for nudes, sex, or any type of interaction once they say no. NO MEANS FUCKING NO. STOP CONTINUING TO ASK. They can also change their minds, especially once they have given consent to having sex or any form of interaction. "I don't want to anymore" "I don't feel like it." "Maybe" "No" "I don't know" "No Thank You" "I don't feel comfortable." All of these, are NOT a "Yes." If yes never came out of their mouth, then IT IS a NO. *(This applies to both Men and Women.)* To People who blame Rape Victims: FUCKING STOP IT. It's NEVER the rape victim's fault. Stop asking them, "well, what were you wearing?" "Why didn't you scream or fight back?" WHY DOES IT MATTER WHAT THEY WERE WEARING?!?!? No form of clothing is an open invitation to have sex. Young-ass children are being raped in their pajamas and you ask that shit? Do you fail to realize that many victims can't fight back due to them being drugged? Date rape exists, remember that. Many won't remember what happened to them because of their drinks being drugged. With trying to fight back, 99% of the time the person doing the rape, is 3 times the size of the person they are raping, and most victims do try and scream, but does anyone come to help save them? No, no one comes. Those who have tried to scream, have either had a hand placed over their mouth, something put into their mouth, or have been told "If you scream, I kill you." Another point, stop telling them when they come out about their rape experience "It didn't happen." "You just want attention." It helps children develop a healthy, more positive body image, instead of using nicknames that their genitals are something shameful or bad. It also gives them the correct language for understanding their bodies and asking questions about sexual development. - Penis - Vagina - Clitoris - Vulva - Scrotum - Anus These are not bad words, THESE ARE YOUR CHILDREN'S BODY PARTS FOR FUCK SAKE. Stop giving your daughters especially, the nickname "Cookie" in terms of their vagina. Cause what happens when they come to tell you that someone touched their cookie? What does your mind go to? Actually cookies or their vagina? Schools don't teach Sex Education well at all. Schools teach students more about STDs, STI's, HIV, other sexually transmitted diseases, and the MALE reproductive system than the women's reproductive system. I had to self-educate myself on my own body, and I'm a female. That's also why MANY men know very little about how the female body works, and then try to tell us how it works. SHUT THE FUCK UP

As someone who has been molested, sexually assaulted, and Even raped this hit home. When I heard this song I bawled my eyes out remembering the men that did those things to me. I still hold my breath when I go out I hardly leave my house without my kids and husband. Even though it was a long time ago. I'm fourteen and was sexually assaulted at 6 it was a failed rape, then at 8, and a few more times through 10-12, it never got to rape and I severely apologize to those who had to go through worse. Three of my friends have had to go through the same thing, no matter what they did, nobody deserves to be violated.

A couple weeks ago me and a few other girls confronted a lad on something insensitive that he had put on his story about rape and sexual assault. When we did this, every single boy in that room started to say its not all men they called one girl a bunch of names said that our statistics were incorrect even though we told them the sources. By pointing out the behaviour of one person, it causes others to recognise their own behaviour and one of two things happen. They either realise they're in the wrong and try and reform or they go on the defensive and have to inflate their own egos in order to feel better about their actions. Frome experience it's usually the latter. And its exhausting

I did go to the police, they ofc investigated, but out countries police is dumber than a pebble, so the investigation didn't go on long but due to no proof, the case was closed

I was raped from 4-10. And that's just what I remember. I'm terrified of men- if my own father could hurt me in such a way then how am I expected to be able to trust men? I'm only fourteen, but I know this is something I'll never truly get over. And I know I hurt my peers around me when I flinch away but I can't help it. There's no getting back that blind trust.

Our words have so much Power, the more you talk about it the better you will feel. The first step to heal a bit is to accept who you are and that you can't change what happened to you. this is why my sister never takes her kids out anywhere when it's just me and her, Sam (her husband) either stays home with the kids or I do. So much truth, so much pain. Did remind me of that old adage "men are afraid women will laugh at them, women are afraid men will kill them". Have actually heard a guy say that proves women have all the power cuz men are so affected by a woman's opinion and to get the same response requires a threat of violence from men. Like, look how much power you have, you can destroy a man just by laughing at him! I was too dumb struck by the 180 degree interpretation of what I thought was obvious that i couldn't form a response then... I can now. That men don't fear being attacked by women as much as being laughed at because a guy is able to think more about his ego and doesn't worry about his safety when 'chatting up a woman' where as a woman often has to think if I say no the wrong way will he get aggressive? I have guys sending me dick pics on Snapchat all the fucking time talking bout some "you like" or "come suck it" I- I AIN'T ASK FOR THAT SHIT. That's fucking disgusting. I openly carry a taser, pepper spray, a knife, an alarm, a window breaker, a Kubaton, brass knuckles, and a whistle. Sadly, I can't take 6 out of the 8 items into sports events, concerts, or movie theaters because they are a weapon.

But, if you have to tell them to change when you know that they are going to stay in their rooms and your excuse is "I'm trying to protect you." I'm fourteen and was sexually assaulted at 6 it was a failed rape, then at 8, and a few more times through 10-12, it never got to rape and I severely apologize to those who had to go through worse. Three of my friends have had to go through the same thing, no matter what they did, nobody deserves to be violated.

A couple weeks ago me and a few other girls confronted a lad on something insensitive that he had put on his story about rape and sexual assault. When we did this, every single boy in that room started to say its not all men they called one girl a bunch of names said that our statistics were incorrect even though we told them the sources. By pointing out the behaviour of one person, it causes others to recognise their own behaviour and one of two things happen. They either realise they're in the wrong and try and reform or they go on the defensive and have to inflate their own egos in order to feel better about their actions. Frome experience it's usually the latter. And its exhausting

I was raped from 4-10. And that's just what I remember. I'm terrified of men- if my own father could hurt me in such a way then how am I expected to be able to trust men? Remember it was not your fault, none of it was your fault. Talking about it with people you trust helps the most. Let your tears out and speak up. Our words have so much Power, the more you talk about it the better you will feel. The first step to heal a bit is to accept who you are and that you can't change what happened to you. I also recomend Self love Meditation and maybe some self love hypnose (there are Videos on RUclips). There are at least the things that helped me. I also recomend the Song "better from Kerli" and also "Blossom from Kerli". These songs might also help a bit with the healing process.

I've listened to this song for like a 20 times since the morning and it still hit hard... Can't get over the pain in these words.... It describe how helpless and powerless we feel when we have to deal with just other humans like us... It's disappointed to think that no matter how far the world keep changing and improving...it still unsafe for a human to just walk on his own bc of his gender

Did you guys know due to Covid lock downs, child molestation, sexual abuse and domestic violence have been on the rise?! This is sickening . And to hear this song. Thinking about all the people out there going through this just breaks my heart and crushes it into powder. Because so many young and old are helpless and I can’t do anything to save them 😩😩💔💔😭😭. This song just reminds me of how easily men can get away with such evil things
this is why my sister never takes her kids out anywhere when it's just me and her, Sam (her husband) either stays home with the kids or I do. She says, "it just takes a second for something to happen and their gone." her and I both are survivors of this, and it really hits home so I can't blame her for keeping her kids inside, the world is so dangerous, and her kids are to innocent for the world.

Never went through something tragic (I thank God for that everyday), but I understand. I understood early thanks to the guidence of my mother. Its a shame that girls have to become aware of the male gaze and grow up quickly because of it. Even more so to those who go through worse. 😞
through the ages 10-14 i was sexually assaulted by two of my cousins. growing up i thought it was my fault. i even experienced harassment. it’s gotten to the point were i turn away whenever i see a guy alone. they were supposed to be my family, i trusted them. i loved them. i’m still trying to heal. i told my mom abt one and he denied everything. how is it far that i’m still left with the pain and he gets to pretend like it didn’t happen? like it didn’t ruin me?

makes me also think of guys wondering why I haven't had sex in a long time and them being like "well girl I can change that". them completely ignoring the fact that I have been raped and sexually assaulted more than just once.
By now I'm very open about the fact that these things happened to me because I stopped feeling ashamed of it or blaming myself, despite the reactions I got when I first opened up about it (one of them was my brother telling me, I wasn't raped and he'd also jump a girl if she was hot and sleeping at his place and he woke up horny... very messed up btw)
there have been so many guys over the years being like "yeah well but I'm not like that" - might be true but that doesn't take away the trauma or stops me from having panic attacks when being intimate with someone. men telling women it's okay to just have fun when you've been traumatized by that exact thing is a real issue. not respecting boundaries, even if you openly communicate them. that's an issue.
if people could respect each other and their boundaries, things like that wouldn't happen. and people telling others they are "anti-everything" just because they stand their ground and stick with their "no" isn't helping either.

Found this after someone said (in a thread to someone else) go look up not all men. So I did... and this came up. Was really not ready for how much truth was gonna get piped through my earphones. Raw and powerful in its honesty.
Reading the comments... is not for the faint of heart. But! Illustrates just how many women, and children, can relate personal trespasses to the lyrics. So much truth, so much pain. Did remind me of that old adage "men are afraid women will laugh at them, women are afraid men will kill them". Have actually heard a guy say that proves women have all the power cuz men are so affected by a woman's opinion and to get the same response requires a threat of violence from men. Like, look how much power you have, you can destroy a man just by laughing at him!
I was too dumb struck by the 180 degree interpretation of what I thought was obvious that i couldn't form a response then... I can now.
That men don't fear being attacked by women as much as being laughed at because a guy is able to think more about his ego and doesn't worry about his safety when 'chatting up a woman' where as a woman often has to think if I say no the wrong way will he get aggressive? Will he wait around after closing? Will he follow me home? Is it this skirt, I thought it was cute but the way he's looking at me like I'm a 12oz rib eye makes me think maybe it just screams skank.

The woman is worried that if she says no he could make life unbearable and push her to leave, because he's embarrassed. Will he spread rumours about her? Will he keep asking? Will he get aggressive. He's not worried about HR, if he was he wouldn't have asked. And what's wrong with asking someone for a drink? She's the one who was unreasonable after all. Women don't fear the backlash of a rejected man because we have all the power, or fear all men out of some bigotry. Its because its happened, not once, not twice, but for me, the majority of my interactions where I've been targeted as a possible viable 'mate' and hounded, bullied, lost jobs, verbally abused, and worse... Just cuz I said no thank you.
Oh the ire! How could I?! Dreaded rejection! Maybe that's why so many of the guys I've known have thought catcalling and weak bravado seeking chat up attempts and thinly veiled invites to 'get drinks' are height of flattery and I should just be grateful (funny, they're always so cross when they find out I don't drink alcohol. The clear disappointment that they won't have the aid of alcohol to incapacitate or lower my guard. If they just wanted to 'get to know me' in the non biblical sense, then why were they so dejected, even enough to cancel, that I won't be having more than maybe one cocktail.)
My guard isn't up for no reason. Maybe tonight you take my no thank you with grace. Chances are if you were a friend though, you don't want to be friends anymore. Or you'll keep asking until we just can't be friends. Or dropping 'cute' (read:lewd) comments about how attractive you think I am, and how hard it is to ignore. Freak. I'm just female. Not a stunning model by any stretch.
But maybe you won't.
And statistically, for every guy I said no to, I'm just thinking.... um nope! Not one has just gone 'no worries!' And left me alone. Every single one has pushed and pushed, gotten aggressive, violent or lost me my job.
So while you may think you're the one unicorn in the forest and my fear is unjustified, that right there *is* the privilege. That's why the saying goes, men are afraid women will laugh, women are afraid men will attack. Its learnt behavior, based on years of experience, and going by the comments... I'm not the only one.
But tell me again, how you're the only man who never treated a woman badly for the unconscionable crime of turning you down. Or laughed when your bro came back from a failed attempt and called her a frigid bitch, belittled him and reinforced the idea that real men can have any woman any time. Or heard about a work colleagues behavior and dismissed it openly as guy talk, or blown out of proportion. Or told a complete stranger nice ass, tits, legs, or to smile luv!

The thread on twitter was about maus and how to teach hard truths in school. Oof, this song should be played in sex Ed classes. See how many of the girls cry and the boys argue its not their fault, they've never ever ever done anything so why are all the girls in tears. Cuz you my friend, are probably wrong in your assumption, but okay let's say you're one of the unicorns, but every girl in class looks like she's been trespassed upon by a guy/boy at some point. And THAT'S the point. Stop saying not me, and start thinking why so many do. Why so so many women feel this way. Have these awful experiences...
And then get blamed.
We can't win. The one time we might think fuck it, have more than one drink, wear that cute dress that makes you feel confident, and give that guy the benefit of doubt, God help us if we're wrong. Studies show no one else will.
That's the kicker. Convince us a game of Russian roulette isn't deadly then call it suicide when we pull the loaded chamber.
Okay I'm gonna leave it at that. Didn't even scratch the surface but these experiences are so common I'm sure, sadly, someone else will go into what I haven't.
