My controlling ex boyfriend wanted to see what I was writing, but I already felt like he couldn't be trusted, so I copied out the first chapter of a Margaret Atwood novel and let him read that. He was sorry to tell me that I had no talent and should stop trying...

Ah Marian, I can’t thank you enough for sharing your writing tips with us. You’ve really made me realise that it’s an achievable goal as long as you sit down and get the work done. You have really given me the impetus to get a routine going and let my unconscious spill out on the page. I recently read your book ‘Rachel’s Holiday’ from the library (I’m a late fan, I admit) but it was the catalyst for my obsession with your work and you as a person. You really cheer me up and are such a lovely person. The way you say certain words in your accent makes me smile. Thank you again! X

I have never read one of your books so have no idea what you write about. I do have a big and still growing eclectic library and read from A -Anthropology to Z -Zionism and everything between. I have a growing fiction section many of the classics the complete works of Shakespeare, Some Dickens, a big collection of Sci-fi with my two favourite authors in that genre Philip K Dick and Michael Crichton.
The biggest section in my library is the Theology section particularly books on Gnosticism I also have lots of books on Quantum Physics and books that explore Consciousness and Entheogens.
I understand that when people write books especially fiction they lose their eidolon this is their everyday self, what simulation theorist call their avatar and their Daemon takes over. I have experienced this many times myself even though I have never written a book. When this happens you are in the zone, time disappears and it feels like magic as the Daemon is your higher self. I do feel that people have been subjugated and disempowered by those who control the system. I also believe it's very important to read eclectically.
I saw your feature in the DM today and then found this video which I found to be enjoyable. Who knows I might let my inner child out one day and write a book although I seem to prefer to collect them and read them.
