  • Partita No. 2 in C Minor, BWV 826 by J.S. Bach
The Partitas were written after Bach’s move to Leipzig in 1723, where he had focused extensively in his first three years writing Cantatas for liturgical services. Partita No. 2 was published individually in 1727, then as part of a set of six keyboard suites in 1731 under the name Clavier-Übung I (Keyboard Practice). These were the first works published under his own direction at his own expense, which he designated as his Opus 1.
Each Partita has a certain character, or affect, and my description for this Partita is "Drama".

Note on Editions: The slides shown are from an edition in the public domain available on imslp.org. This is not the edition I am playing from however, so from time to time there are some minor variations.
