- Mountain Summit Bivvy Wild Camp on top of Glencoe's highest mountain Bidean nam Bian via Stob Coire nam Beith in Fog and Rain. Bidean nam Bian via Stob Coire nam Beith is a lesser approach to Glencoe's highest mountain Bidean nam Bian. The ascent is stepp and relentless with several stream crossings before it lets to the Bidean nam Bian Mountain Range Ridge which leads to the top of Stob Coire nam Beith and finally to Bidean nam Bian. On top of Bidean nam Bian we bivvy wild camped and experienced a cloudy, cold and rainy night with high winds before we descended via the Lost Valley.
I hope you enjoy our summit bivvy wild camp on top of Glencoe's highest mountain - Bidean nam Bian! ATB Stripey

Good shift again mate! Keep them coming.
Thanks a lot Kevin do my best, unfortunately the weather is recently not particularly inviting for great summit views 😏👍
Your videos are great👌👌👍👍
Thanks a lot Frederick 👋🙂👍
Fantastic ☘️ a great fan ..you're a crazy dude :) great vlogs
Thanks a lot Merky W glad you enjoy it! 😊👋👍
@@StripeyHatGuy it was amazing. I was there in July so brought back memories.. "holy Moley" great catch phrase Stripey Guy :)
Great bivy camp what more can be said
Cheers @MurchiesMountains recommended this vid
Thanks a lot mate 👍
Great video as always! It was such a pleasure meeting you in the car park before you started! Hopefully see more of your adventures soon 🙂
Hi Paul was really nice to meet you - hope you got some nice photographs 👍
@@StripeyHatGuy sure did you can see some of my photos on Instagram 🙂🙌🏻
Hi Paul, absolutely stunning! 😳🙌👍
Subscribed for the accent, staying for the adventures :)
Hahaha thanks Soarific 😂😊👍
Nice one Stripey. Pity about the clag but good to get out 👍
Absolutely Kev, at least on the way up we had some stunning views 😃👍
Magical..Absolutely loved it ..Hard slog up but worth it😁👍
🙂👋👍
Fare play to you and Robert for bivying in those conditions Stripey.Pity about the night views for you.I always been lucky in there and been blessed with good views.Still to ascend the way you guys did so that something i will need to look into.😀👍
Thanks a lot Andy. It is quite a nice and lonely approach up to Bidean nam Bian - apparently not many people go up via Stob Coire nam Beith (e.g. couldn't find a video on RUclips when I was planning it). 👋👍
Sod’s law Stripey. Beautiful conditions all the way up, you reach the summit then bang, clagged-in for the duration. Been there done it many times it’s all part of the game. Sunny days are just round the corner and without the rough you don’t appreciate the smooth. Great vid once again, keep em coming.
Thanks a lot Richard that is very true. 👍
Nice 1 mate . Pity about the views. Do you live in glencoe now 😆. It's an amazing place.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Cheers Tam! Well Glencoe is just easy accessible from Glasgow and it is from my point of view just a brilliant place with so many different rocky mountains/routes. Have only been once in the Cairngorms but honestly they hills up there are a kind of round and it is quite a drive which I would only do again when the weather is divided 😉 👍
I think you need to rename yourself 'THE STRIPEY BUNNET OF GLENCOE' lol! pity about the weather but its all about getting out and doing it eh! cheers stripes. Paul.
Hahaha! Sometimes you are just lucky and sometimes, well you have just a good time in a "body bag" 🤣👍
Absolutely love your enthusiasm!
I like your channe'sl name. How did you come up with that name?
No views for me either on my one and only visit to Bidean Nam Bian, and I was so looking forward to them☹️!!
At least they were much better on Stob Coire Sgreamhach😃!!
Well you are one ahead of me then and thanks for reminding me that I haven't had any luck from Stob Coire Sgreamhach either. The clouds disappeared though when I walked over the Beinn Fhada ridge 😂
Nice Video can only imagine how horrible it is sleeping in a bivvy bag when it rains 😂😂😂 Thanks for sharing mate 👍
Yeah wasn't the most pleasant experience, thankfully it stopped short in the morning that we could get at least ready without rain. 😂👍
Enjoyed this sir, the views were cracking until you summited! xD Oh well, at least if you rolled off the edge through the night your bag would have kept all the bits in one place, haha!
Yeah a pity particular when you rush the last bit... will probably need a 4th time 😂. Thankfully there are plenty of routes left which I want to do nearby so I am positive that at some point it will work out with a sunset from Bidean nam Bian 🤞👍
@@StripeyHatGuy excellent :) Nothing to complain about in Glencoe!
Absolutely, rocky mountains and in my case also nearby!
How was your sleep, comfortable?
Enjoyable Post as usual.🖖
Hi SeeScotland, it was comfortable but a fresh breeze in the face and from midnight on it was kind of ugly as it started raining so I had to close my "body bag" over which means that the condensation builds pretty quick up/you need to hold it open. Unfortunately only the side facing the wind has a zipper 😂. 👋👍
At least you got some views on the way up if not at the top. Maybe next time 🙂
Yeah hopefully 🤞
Stripey! Other mountain ranges are available 😂
Only joking, have you considered buying a pair of pool shoes for any river crossings or island escapes. The're ridiculously light and cheap to buy.
Hi Alistair, I actually have some Teva's which I normally use, not so light but also good for summer usage. 😎👍
In case anyone wondered - the little red flags were for the Skyline Scotland races. They mark the course with flags then remove them all afterwards.
Cheers Kim, completely forgot to mention it in the Video. Actually wanted to look up the results, absolutely impressive what some can run...😳
@@StripeyHatGuy it’s amazing ….. mad but amazing!
Great video. What walking poles did you use on this trek?
Hi Adidas RC, the poles I am using are the Leki Micro Vario - the alloy version. I have a link in the description to the current model - not sure if Leki still does the "foldable" ones out of alloy so. ATB Stripey
@@StripeyHatGuy thanks mate. I'll take a wee look.
You are welcome, I use Leki now for 20 years or so and have really nothing bad to say 👍
@@StripeyHatGuy I'm missing one arm so I grudge paying for 2 poles. I need to invest in a pair though so I might just have to bite the bullet. I look forward yo your future video's.
Stay safe!
Maybe it is worth to reach out to Leki/Black Diamond 🤞. ATB Stripey
A shame about the weather spoiling the views again. A good character building bivvy though 😉
Yeah the weather is just difficult recently, still good to be outside so and you safe the water for the morning shower 😂
Hi,couldn't help but notice all the numerous red flags littering the route,I'd pick them up and bin them all.
Hi David, they were just put up for the Glencoe Skyline Race and removed the other day. 👍
If you can't Run,on the hills, without following Red marker flags and Arrow markers, then you shouldn't be out.
See your point David, I mean I grew up next to the Alps in the far south of Germany so I am used to way markers and signs all over the place (only place is not on glaciers) - but it is for sure much nicer without them! What I consider more bothering is that people leave their ropes at abseil points (Dinner-time buttress, Great Gully Buttress, ...) Which are for sure not safe anymore after years exposed to the elements, like a rock climbing littering 😏
