    What's the reason to wait 24 hrs for finishing/polishing appointment? Is that generally done in private practice? I've never heard of it.

      To make sure the amalgam material is fully set. If your amalgam is not fully hard and you polish them, it will be a brittle/weak restorations that will not last long.

      @@muhammadaziq4920 Yeah that's what I figured but I don't think it happens in private practice too much? Maybe sometimes but not usually. Right?

      @@lSomeRandomGuyl yeah, as far as I concern for private practice in Malaysia, they're not using amalgam anymore. But for the government clinics, the dentist will set an appoinment next day for the patient after restoration had done.

      @@lSomeRandomGuyl Ideally it does...but the patient often cannot return the day after and the polishing gets put off/ never happens.
