I sure will use it. We have been blessed enough to visit Disney 3 times this year. We have one more trip for Christmas and after that we will take a break for at least a couple of years. Most in my family have never visited. We purchased DVC but before then we had only stayed at Pop. Still only visited twice in my life. Flights alone have gone from $500 for my family of 5 to $2500 so you can understand why I wouldn't want to wait in line behind every local person and RUclipsr when we invest so much money to go. I think this product is specifically for a person like me.
I agree. The no hopping thing is what's crazy to me, especially if you bought the MK one. But the per person option will make it viable for some families over the actual VIP tour.
My wife and I have 4 kids, so the costs multiply pretty quickly for us. We usually stay at Value-level resorts or at Disney Springs when we come down from Iowa. I was, admittedly, a little hurt that Disney was introducing an option that is likely out of our financial reach. But at the same time, we've never stayed at a Deluxe resort, so I'm already in a different demographic than the target demo of this new option. I also accept that Disney is a publicly-traded company and they are beholden to generate revenue for their shareholders. If they have a premium (true or perceived) product that is constantly selling out, most other businesses would be raising the cost of that premium product. They just have to be willing to accept the bad press and know that they risk damaging the brand in the pursuit of profits.
I think you have a really levelheaded approach to the announcement. I rarely stayed in Deluxe resorts before I moved from Iowa, and if I did it was only a day or 2. Always seemed like a waste of money on a room I wouldn't use for anything but sleeping. I'd like to see this offered to everyone eventually, because I would've possible splurged for it, even if I was staying at Pop Century for the week. Probably a pilot phase before they roll it out to a larger audience. Thanks for watching!
@@themeparkgiant Agreed. I hope they offer it to all hotel levels eventually. My wife and I came down in November for a 3-night "EPCOT Food and Wine" weekend and stayed at All-Star Movies. But we did go to Magic Kingdom for a day and might have splurged for just the two of us in order to make the most of our one day at MK.
I remember when they quit letting disabled persons take a separate line. I use to get the annual pass every year. But when they stopped allowing you to take the other line and began doing a queue. I have mobility issue and only have a certain amount of time before I'm just done and have to go home. I can't wait, whether its in a line or elsewhere, like I could before my disabilities. So Disney basically changed the rules and made Disney inaccessible to me. I had to fight with them to get a refund for my passes. With their new policy I might be able to get on one ride, before I would be forced to leave, where before I could manage 5, maybe even 6. Which I thought was somewhat worth the extreme price they sell passes for.. But to go there and sit and wait for one ride, they don't care for the disabled, its all about the holy dollar... $$$
Disney pricing is so complicated. So for this you need deluxe hotel, regular admission for each day, premium pass for each park??? Why wouldn't one just do vip as you mentioned?
Probably not something I will ever have the $ to do. I crack up every time I hear the “I’m done with Disney” proclamations. And I most often hear it from people who would never even go in the first place.
I've been hearing it for as long as I've been reading Disney message boards/social media, which goes back to around 1993. Disney has been "pricing people out" for as long as I can remember, yet the parks are busy all the time now.
What are your thoughts on the new Premier Pass? Will you be using it?

Absolutely! Time is money on a Disney vacation, in my opinion. I don't blame you one bit for taking advantage of the Premier Pass! Have a great trip!
Seems like a vip tour light at these prices, think party of 4. Especially without being able to hop.

VIP would still need admission, and would still be a lot more for a day.
