I have absolutely no musical training, but I have always loved and enjoyed Indian Classical Music and had propensity towards songs based on the Raagas. You said that right, because whenever I listen to them they touch my feelings, they are always sensational, although I have no knowledge in music yet they strike my waves. My all time favorite composers from film industry were: Khemcandra Prakash, Naushad Ali, Rosan Lal, Madan Mohan, Chitragupta, S.N.Tripathi, Shaukat Dehlvi ( Nashaad), C.Ramchandra, Iqbal Qureshi, Sajjad Hussain and so many others. great Iftikhar Bhai,Enjoyed And Appreciate your choice,I was having Double mind whether to reply this or not because your post is 3 yrs old.But the Kind of Choice is wonderfull lot many names you have written in your choice really all are very nice and great ppl,i think you must be liking few more also but Just Missed them ,O P Naiyar,Ravi,Hemantkumar,S D Burman,R D Burman.Secondly I wud like to bring this to your Notice that these were not just Musicians but each one of them Is A HUGE-UNIVERSITY/INSTITUTION. And most amusing part of it is that few of them have just had very formal education of Classical music,For instance O P Naiyar sahab had no education of CLassical (I consider him King of Romance in film music),Ravi had very little formal training,Roshan ji Learnt Rag Yaman from Ustd Allauddin Khan (Maihar-Guru of Pt Ravishankar) only for 6 months and I consider him to be King of Yaman(He has given the most melodious compositions of Yaman-(Chupa lo yu dil me pyar mera,Niigahe milane k ji chahta hai and many others). The learning the music is later, first is the "Passion" that one must have accompanied by deep thinking,rest all gets done automatically.I consider my self to be the luckiest fellow on this earth to have taken birth during their's Era . Ravi Sahab Pahadi Ke Badshah Chudavi ka chand ho,Nile gagan ke tale aur na jane kitne pahadi,Tujhko pukare mera pyar. Hemantkumar-Bhimpalas ke badshah Lekin Unka Yaman -Vo shaam Kuch ajeeb thi-Aisa Yaman Koi nahi soach paya.. O P naiyar Sahab Ka kedar Jo sirf Bhakti sangit ka rag mana gaya -Aap yu hi agar humse milte rahe (Romance ka bemisaal namuna) Kamaal ka kedar hai- Naushaad sahab ka kedar -Bekas pe karam kijiye. However, I have no knowledge about the composition and technical aspects of Ragas, yet I have been attending concerts of starting from Amir Khan to Ustad Rashid Khan, Pt Bhim Sen Joshi, Pt Jas Raj & Rajan & Sajan Mishra. What a heavenly experience because I have occasionally tears of sublime happiness while listening to all these maestros. Would be eternally grateful if you could have similar collection based on various Raagas.

Very likeable compilation of songs. Decades back a short program called Swar Sudha in Vividh Bharathi introduced rAgas to the listeners through film music. The fifteen minutes program would play one Raaghu based film song, a classical vocal rendition, and an instrumental rendition. It wa a good way to learn appreciation of classical music.👌🏻
I thought of bailing out when she was talking for about 2 min's with no raag.. And then I sensed the raaga and again she stepped in for more background 🤔😊

The original raag base is Abheri. Tansen adapted and sang in Akbar's darbar. Since then it is called as raag darbar. In south, raag is still popular as raag abheri.
Just a correction of the comment by Ishan Tiwari two years back, (sorry I just noticed it.) 2 years ago this raag was made by tansen. that explains its beauty." This is one of the ancient Carnatic Ragas. Its ancient name is Kannada or Kaanrha. There are some variations- Adhaana. Tansen brought it to the court as he was a court singer. Please check Natya Sastra and commentaries on Carnatic Music. Its beauty is in the use of komal sur Gandhar, Dhaiwat and Nishad.
Sure he brought it to the Court with a few changes..it was not the original Kanada raag that you refer to..Please be balanced in your comments without glossing over facts if they are not to your liking.
