This is such an efficient video for people like me who have studied this 100 times but always forgets how it goes. I just need a quick revision to refresh memory and this is perfect. Thanks! Saving this video
Thank you so much! My lecture slides were horrible on acid - base balance but you explained it so well I was able to make amazing notes from your videos!!
Hi, just wanted to point out that the activity of glutaminase produces Ammonia (NH3) not NH4+. It is NH3 that combines with the H+ in the lumen to produce NH4+. Thank you for the video, it was excellent.
very well done . . . i am starting my own channel for some advanced version of acid/base in critical care and was looking around what is available . . . I think this saved my time as I will refer my students to these videos as starting point . . . congrats . . .
Good day! I'm supposed to do a report on chloride shift that's happening in the kidneys, but I'm so confused. Where does it occur exactly? Hope you get to answer my question. Thank you!

Just a question please - in the collecting duct, where did/does the NH3 come from please? as we previously had been discussing NH4. Thank you!
alot of help
keep it up
Excellent
Very well explained and graphed! Quick question, is poor breathing a cause of acidosis by higher conc of CO2 in the blood?
More co2 in the lungs and less 02 in the blood
great work
great :)
Thanks alot
Why the removal of hydrogen ions as NH4 decreases the requirement of bicarbonate to buffer the urine?
Thank you for this🙇
You're welcome!
So beautiful I love this
How did the ammonia get produced in collecting tubule though.... ?
Please , the reabsorption of bicarbonate by the echengeur Na/hco3- is active ???
@2:39 why is the co2 released into the cell?
I believe to be circulated into the lungs and then through diffusion and respiration the CO2 should release.😅
Amazing
At 1:30 how the concentration of [H] increases after excretion it should decrease right??
Wow 👍
Can you post the pdf to these notes! Would love to take notes with these pictures on a pdf
Good day! I'm supposed to do a report on chloride shift that's happening in the kidneys, but I'm so confused. Where does it occur exactly? Hope you get to answer my question. Thank you!
may be a silly question.. but what is the cell? Red blood cell?
Nephron cell - epithelial
