- Zeaton and I are excited to present some of our TBC Priest Warrior 2v2 games to the community. When we started arena in TBC, we didn't expect to get Gladiator let alone a Rank 1 title. We hope you enjoy our games and our overexcited comms.
To those of you playing TBC Priest Warrior, we hope this might help you learn and enjoy the composition more. Over the course of Season 2, we made a lot of mistakes and lost tons of games to more than just the comp - it's frustrating to play at times, but keep learning and keep improving! We'll have a written guide coming soon with more details on what we think about in each matchup in the Warrior PVP and Priest Discords for anyone that's interested.

So much nicer comms than other glads I've seen highlights of. You never whine about resists/whatever and you're really efficient in comms, very objective and to the point. Great video!

Watched this on one go. So smooth just to listen to. Most of the times rank 1 players are a bit annoying to listen to, as they get toxic real fast, but you guys are just great. Keep it up! Would love to see another arena montage from you guys. Also LOVE to see a non meta comp that high in the rankings.
The competitive side in me got a Question for you. Why did you drop in rating and winrate in s3? Did the meta change with gear progression and made it harder for you guys to climb? Did you just play games for fun after achieving rank 1 titles? Just really curious to know, please dont get me wrong.

Thank you for the kind words! To answer your question, it was a bit of both for us in S3 - we wanted to take a more relaxed approach to the season after getting R1, but gear progression 100% hurt Priest/Warrior. Moreso, Priests in 2v2 just felt a lot weaker in S3 with the rise of Resto Druids and an abundance of double DPS. WD and RM gaining power and popularity, alongside Warglaives, stand out as key detractors for our power. TBC is a fairly queue dependent as it stands and Priest/Warrior's worst matchups all felt worse and the more 50/50 ones felt like they slowly started slipping away over the course of S3. Our estimation is that the comp is solid in S1, best in S2, and starts to fall off hard in S3/S4. All said, we were quite happy to have earned S3 Gladiator in 2s.
We'll get another video out with S3 footage in due time with some of our favorite games, we still definitely had fun despite more of a struggle. Hoping to queue 2s a bit more regularly in S4 as well to try and keep up with things :)

damn that was intense to watch, back in the days i was gladiator on druid lock combo i really felt these fights xD u can reset whenever u want as wl druid
glad youtube recommended this, it was very entertaining. i love abnormal comps (i play feral/rogue and post some vids on my page) PS you should disable error notifications on spells etc. its more notable in footage haha i only recently disabled mine but its an improvement.
Love the vids, I know you say priest/war s4 is weaker. Be cool to see some current season games.

Dude I love wow always have but I haven't played in years and was always a hardstuck 2k player even though I loved pvp. This video makes me want to level my classic toons to 70 and *really* learn pvp. Like everyone else is saying, your guys' comms make this a threat to watch. Yall are good good lol.

Great Video! Any tips you have for setting up TellMeWhen? Also, which healthplate addon do you use to show those icons above the default heatlh bars? Looks clean and easy to read
I believe the icons above the default health bars is from BigDebuffs but my UI is kind of hacked together. For my couple TellMeWhen icons, I mostly just have buff/debuff present = show (ex: intervene) - nothing complicated! WeakAuras should be easier to configure to achieve the same thing but I am a boomer with TellMeWhen.

I play this comp as well at a much lower rating then you but druid warrior seems fucking impossible for us to win glad to see at least 1 of that matchup in the vid!
Nice to see a non-standard comp at Rank 1. Do you think this would be possible without double dwarf racial? I could see the warrior getting away with not having Stone Form, but for a priest it would be GG against any rogue comp. Given the prevalence of rogues in 2v2, would you say you basically have to be double dwarf to run this comp?
Without double dwarf, some of the Rogue/X matchups are still winnable but more difficult depending on what the other team does. We played our alts up to Gladiator as Dwarf Priest / Human Warrior S2 and it felt fine. Double dwarf is the best version of Priest Warrior overall but you can do very well/have fun with other combinations. Double dwarf is essentially a minmax for Priest/Warrior but not necessary by any means :)
On Alliance, the more important thing is that your Priest is Dwarf. On Horde, UD/Orc is solid and can do very well, esp into tougher non-rogue matchups.
I've seen this 4 times before I read " ah the swine double dwarf"

TY for the kind words! Zeaton (Notaez) and I specifically leveled two dwarves ahead of TBC for Priest/Warrior after talking to Agarwen about it (top private server warrior, shoutout to him).
I love playing priest warrior when i’m skirming, I’m at 1800 playing priest mage and would love to try ranked with a skilled warrior.

If you mean the highlight box around target on Gladdy, it is under "Highlight" - show inside + show border around target

You can make a macro to use a healing spell and start drinking at the same time. Folks call it drinkbug because you can't do it manually (have to use a macro).

Super congrats. This comp is insanely hard. I'm trying it as not-a-dwarf and I'm pretty sure it's not even viable w/o stoneform on both teammates?
It is definitely viable without Stoneform on both. You'll have different strengths / weaknesses but something like UD/Orc can be very strong depending on matchup.
The heartbeat on the warrior fear @25:28 is actually pretty gross ngl..
Btw, it doesnt matter for Crusader striker pally (tbh a lot more viable; i mean cursader strike build does simply lot more dmg than reckoning one) if you hit it or not. He doesnt have reckoning with crusader strike.

Hey, in your opinion which "tier comp" is easiest for you?
In our opinion, easy isn't the right word per se - DPW doesn't really have any "easy" matches similar to other comps that counter one or many comps. Moreso, there are matchups where we as DPW have a greater degree of having our skill/strategy dictate the matchup given our limited toolkit & limited ability to play proactively. Therefore, our preferences are matchups that are more consistent where we have a bit more control in how things play out. In that regard, Resto Druid Warlock fits this bill the best as a top "tier" comp - it's all about avoiding CC, keeping your Warrior mobile, managing mana for a long game, and slowly building a win condition through target selection between pet & warlock. Fighting LD as DPW is quite dynamic and we have much more agency to determine the outcome compared to other matchups where our options are either limited or quite linear (one can only do so much as DPW when a Rogue Mage opens on you out of stealth or a DPR trains Priest start to finish). Hope that helps!

Several addons here that fit that description. Health bars are standard Blizz nameplates. OmniBar + Gladdy for enemy CDs, OmniCD for party CDs (intercept was broken for this video).
