  • Techo VS Weeks VS Cafe Note! It's a B6 Slim comparison, which will be your favorite?
*Edit: It has been brought to my attention that a Hobonichi Weeks does not have yellow paper because of dirt from daily use, rather it is easier on the eyes. That said, I'm still a fan of bright white paper ; )

The cream paper in the Hobo is supposed to be easier on the eyes when used on the go outside in the sun.

Yes, unfortunately I didn't do my own research before recording. I learned my lesson!

Thanks so much for this video! I've been looking for a good comparison video between the Jibun and the Weeks and there are pretty much only videos out there comparing the Jibun and the Cousin. Can't wait to hear how you find the Jibun to be going forward when you're able to start using it. The Hobonichi site says they made the Weeks paper yellowish not so that it wouldn't show dirt as easily as the white paper, but so that it would be easier on the eyes as the Weeks is more of an on the go planner and more likely to be used outdoors. They really think of everything at Hobonichi!

That makes more sense about the yellow paper. I'll put an edit in the description box! Glad my video helped you, and I can't wait until November so I can start playing around with the weekly layout :)

I enjoyed the video! Your direct descriptions and comparisons are great! I'm late in the year to be switching, but I am going to try the switch from Hobo Weeks to Jibun Lite this week since I have been drawing a weekly timeline spread in the notes pages of my weeks and basically have my planner open to that spread every day, it makes sense to change it up. I have an older Cafe Notes also, so I'll try pairing it with that like you do! Thank you.

The yellow paper reduces glare outdoors.

I found that out later...Hobonichi really does think of everything!

I think the paper is yellow to reduce glare since it goes out and about with people as opposed to hanging out on a desk. Also, the moon phases won’t be spot on due to Japan being about 13 hours ahead of the US.

Yes, you're right about the paper. I should have done my own research 😬 as for the moon cycles, I had noticed they were slightly off too.

Thanks for this thorough comparison! B6 Slim is one of my favorite sizes-not too big, not too small. I’ve been trying to decide whether or not to buy a Hobo Weeks (which I have used before) to go with my Nanami Cafe Note B6 Slim notebook (I love and adore Tomoe River paper, and am so sad that they have slightly changed their manufacturing process-sorry for the rabbit trail) for 2021. Thanks to your video, I am now pretty excited about the Jibun Techo Lite Mini (did I get those in the right order???😅)!!!
P.S. Fellow very busy super-ADD brained gal here. I MUST have a brain on paper. Digital for some things(grocery lists, contacts, etc.), but paper seems to work much better with my brain for day-to-day stuff. Thanks again!

I agree! I must have a paper planner, there is no way I could be completely digital. Did you end up buying a Jibun Techo Lite?!

Ha ha…rewatching this video on a whim almost a year later, because I’m likely getting a JT mini lite for 2022! 😅 I see I never answered your question, so here it is.😉🥰

Thanks for this...I’ve been tempted by the Jibun planner, but this one won’t work for my needs.
