I agree with your comment on story - I hate when the person filming & telling the story thinks they need to be in the video too ! Often you can't see the place for their stupid body in the way ! Thanks for a nice video !
Being a Canadian with Crichton as my last name I was overjoyed to get to visit Crichton Castle 20 years ago. There are many castles far more impressive to see in Scotland but when you have even the most vague of family connections to one it makes it so much more wonderful. Also: There was a lovely pub a couple of miles away where they served by far and away the best Steak and Kidney pie I've ever had!
These structures are so amazing. The fact that they were built that long ago and still standing is amazing. I was christened in a church that was built in the 1300’s on the Isle of Wight.
Yes, I think it definitely seems to be that the castles that weren’t too involved in any major battles are in better condition today. Geography and the importance of their position during the 1600s seems to be the factor on how well they stand today.
Having just flown and uploaded a video of Crichton Castle i then came across your video. Nice flight and filming. Well edited a big thumbs up from me. You have a new subscriber 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I once read that it was said of Francis Stewart (Crichton), bane of James VI, that there were few things he did not know and few crimes he had not committed!!!
Many thanks. Yes, we seem to be quite lucky in that they don’t get vandalised. I think there is still a feeling of national pride associated with them. The vandalism usually happened to most of them in the form of stone re-purposing in the centuries following their abandonment - when other nearby structures utilised their ‘building materials’.

So much of this castle still standing! If anyone rich enough is reading this , why not offer to buy it and restore it. What a grand home it would make!🤔☺️
Loved it and the back ground music, they should show this sort of thing in schools it makes history all the more interesting.
What a great way to learn of our Scottish History.
Excellent video, enjoyed the history and seeing the iconic crichton castle, how beautiful!
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Nicely Captured. I like how you tell the story through subtitles. Great shots and editing. Music fits the subject. Professional job.
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it.

I’m thinking the music was from Dead can Dance . I’ll have to listen to my collection of theirs again . Cheers . 😎🥃

No, as you say, its always more interesting when you have some DNA in the game.

Thank you, much appreciated.
My grandmothers ashes were scattered there. She lived nearby and loved the castle.
I did too as a child, visited many times.
Thanks for sharing. It’s a beautiful location and an interesting castle.

Nördlingen sieht aus wie eine erstaunliche Stadt und sehr gut erhalten.

Thank you, I appreciate it.
WOW! Great Work! 💯💯💪💪🙏🙏
Thanks for your feedback , I appreciate it.
I was married in that castle, I’ve even slept the night in it many years back. It’s a very special place down in the glen for me.
Quite a connection. I hope the overnight stay wasn’t your honeymoon:)
@@Seekerfilms that was other occasions when I fancied a night to myself in the old place!
Great video , From an American Scotsman. If that castle was in America it would be all graffiti .

Very Professional and informative 👏 you have a new subscriber
Much appreciated and thank you.
Love the music . Who is it ? Drone footage is great as well.
Thanks, it’s from a Celtic composer - whose name I don’t have at the moment. The Shazam app might tell you.
@@Seekerfilms Thanks . Cheers😎🥃
whats the music for this?
Hi Peter, It’s called ‘Celtic Sound Track’. Sorry, but I don’t have any more information than that.
That's what you call a castle
It seems to have grown out of
the landscape on which it sits
I agree. I really want to film the interior when the castle re opens as that’s pretty special in its own right.
Always so sad to see all these magnificent castles in ruin 😢
Agreed. I guess the only positive is that they are still here - whereas some have gone completely, having been robbed for their stone.

Thank you.
Hate the constant rapid cuts and jumps - makes observation impossible
It’s a shame the video made you feel hatred:)

Good idea. I think the problem is that it always costs a fortune and is full of red tape.
I don't think that these ancient buildings managed by National Trust etc ever get sold back to the public.
