- Jeep footage between early 1940's through the 1960's, all to the tune of Burning Bridges by the Mike Curb Congregation. some footage from "Autobiography of a Jeep" Compiled and edited by Brian Thompson
Wonderful video, Thank you for creating this.
jeep is legendary , it's man's best toy , jeeps has its own values, that's why its been said, " it's a jeep thing you wouldn't understand "
love the older jeeps , Nothing can be compared with the tuneful sound that comes from an old jeep, especially if driven on warm summer nights
From a distance, you can figure out with the elevated headlight beam that it's a jeep .
These are true facts to me

Thanks! You said it perfectly!
so True!!!!! The Best!
This song makes this video better than all the others without a question!
my veterinarian uncle bought a privately owned willys jeep from an american soldier living in Clark airbase here in the Philippines during the late 1950's, when he migrated to the U.S. himself he left the vehicle to my architect father which then bought the trailer which he uses when moonlighting as a building contractor, i learned to drive on this jeep at 16yrs old with students license, got a full license at 18, I installed a cassette stereo under the passenger seat and i use it with my friends to JOYRIDE around town during summer barely out of my teens late 80s it was a golden time in my life, its also very useful during monsoon season since i can wade deeper than ordinary car. that jeep was so memorable to me. it was still running when my father died in 2010! although rarely use by then due to the delapidated condition of the body. i have plans to revived it but my kins(all females) voted to sell it instead im in financial constraint at the time so i cannot buy it out , really sad seeing it pulled out of our garage its such a treasuretrove of wonderful memories of my teensand early Twentys life.. this video made me relive those memories.. im in my mid 50s now.
When men were men and jeeps were jeeps.... ✨
Ten years ago me and my mates took two jeeps to Normandy, drove around in uniform big cigar's playing this fucking magic
The jeep (and the brave soldiers that used them) were one of a handful of pieces of equipment that won the great war.
Perfect combination....well done 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I was a Jeep Driver in the 70's for the S3 while in the Army. They can handle a beating. I recall seeing Toyota Engines in some during 78-79-80
Some rugged little bastards. To bad modern Jeeps aren't this tough.
Oof my back hurts just watching this lol
I belong to a military truck group and there are lots of WWII jeeps of varying types, great bunch of guys absolutely just a blast to be around BUT their Jeeps are treated like like, I will call them the Golden Girls!! Things cannot be to hard, muddy, rough, big ruts, all conditions are a reason NOT to drive on this road. I drive a German Unimog U1300 and I am looking for the snarliest nasty thing I can find to drive through. I respect each and every one of these guys but it can take a little of the sport out of the game!
OK... That's it... I'm selling my Geo Metro and gonna get me a Jeep! Way cool ride!
Great video!!!!
Hello from Sweden 🇸🇪
Jeep 👍👍👍👍👍
This song made me a Jeeper
Oh yeah 👍 love mine
Thank you for this video clip. My dad drove a Jeep in the US Army in the mid-1950s. He loved seeing this compilation and I loved it too!
It must have been exciting to drive one of these, tell him thank you for his service!
Thank you Willys. For its existence, thanks to the creators. Thanks Mahindra Jeeps, India for giving us an opportunity to buy, experience and enjoy the capabilities of a true Willys.
Don't forget American Bantam.
This idiots never give credit to the real chjeeap creator.
I drive a jeep, Mahindra doesn't make jeeps, it's a trade marked name, they make crap like the rotor. Can't hold a match to what my wrangler can do
@@robertmason2225 i can see how frustrated you are. Its ok.
Mahindra never made a Jeep, they made a cheap knock off.
Only in a Jeep! Thank you for such a nifty but all-too brief video!
Awesome, but the lack of a roll bar is something I may never understand.
Rock..singer..and...darmer
...caer.....l.o.v.e..r
It can swim
It can fly
It can plow
It can shoot
It can give you joy from the drive
I cry when I watch this
Hermosos los Jeep, mi papá tenía uno y en el dábamos la vuelta, muy bonitos, saludos desde México
Yup, just like today's 'Jeep'...… :( I have had three CJ 5's, two '79's and a '64....fun times!
LOVE IT! I purchased the Kelly's Heroes soundtrack just for this song. And I listen to it while I drive to work every so often. For me this song is so synonymous with WWII Jeeps that I want to get a WWII radio set for my 1944 GPW and modify it to play music and blast this song as I drive down the road...
I hope you still keeping that masterpiece, and enjoying it
Remember the first time you drove a rental car! That's how a g.i. felt with their first time behind the wheel of a jeep!
Even as late as the 1940s,there were people who'd never driven a motor vehicle of any sort, yet there the government was, putting them behind the wheel & controls of Jeeps, trucks, tanks, aircraft & ships.
As soon as this video ended I had to go take my YJ for a spin around the yard in 4WD
0:42 his driver get neck broken after that 😂😂
Ihr Orthopäde ist immer für sie da ;-) krasse Szenen die HWS oder LWS hinter sich herziehen , auch wenn ich ein absoluter Fan von solchen Autos bin
Those Jeeps are cool.
Best car ever
when you watch this vid you have to think, "those jeeps are still around and running after having the shit beat out of em" they just dotn make em like they use to do they?
My fav. Jeeps❤
Serving America, Britain, and Canada's Forces!
Man I wish I had one so I could have some fun
unreliable and unsafe??? these jeeps are rock solid and practically bulletproof. its man that has salliedout
Unreliable?
As long as I don't leave the key on in my CJ, its good
Unsafe?.....yeah, it's not modern safe
Nothing is safe in a combat zone.....
11h 9id back in 83. mine was a ford mutt. had a tow rocket launcher on it. whenever i see a jeep i still say to myself "still better than walking"..
the best thing human ever made??????????????????,,,,, i think so
2:33 what model is this?
Good car 👍🙂
the first allmighty vehicle
awesome!
Best car
The mother of 4x4
I served in a jeep. Just so you know.
Beautiful!
Jeeps are great!
The jeep was better designed then they knew . Believe it or not there was a suggestion to convert them in to a sort of helicopter , then tow them behind a bomber over to France for the D-Day invasion ! It would have consisted of a free spinning main rotor like a modern 'copter . With a canvas tail , twisted to counteract the torque from the main rotor . Which would be detached on landing. On test one was filled with concrete , and dropped from a height and found it could withstand 11 "G " !

God damn how can you expect soldier to shot enemies with broken ribs and jaws...
My thoughts also.

Jeep has lost its way in the hands of Chrysler/Fiat
Swiss army knife of vehicles
But the german unimog is the real Swiss knife of vehicles
Throw back to before the government made you wear a seat belt
Have you ever seen a smash, where the driver didn't have a seat belt on ? I have . She went right through the windscreen, she had been a pretty girl too . And I still have nightmares about it and this was 17years ago .
@@welshpete12 Dude..
What about the young mom who burned to death because she couldn't get her seat belt unbuckled?
Bad shit can always happen
@@jeffreymccarty1388 About one percent of accidents involve fire, about the same for landing in water. You have a much better chance of smashing your face into the windshield. There are no guarantees in any given situation but it only makes sense to go with the best odds.
viva el club willys
muito bom saber que tenho um deste
This was when jeeps weren't shit
Neck broken in five, four, three, two, one. ....
MAM 2 JEEPY...I KOCHAM JE.....
0:42 broken neck 😬
Славный УАЗик ничего не скажешь
Бомба 💥
Wo
Can you imaging how unreliable and unsafe the original Jeep are by modern standard? A number of the soldiers would have twisted neck base on the jerking of the jeep.
Peizxcv lol couldn't hand this to the current soy boy military they'd all be 100% disabled with broken vaginas and PTSD.
Imagine?
I drive one.
Whiplash
The song is pretty bad
It's from Kelly's Heroes.
