      amzn.to/3f2hXyl
      Any Electric furnac is OK if it goes to 800℃ degrees, and also it is for making jewelry or glass art.
      However, electric furnac is expensive.
      Art clay silver also can be burned with gas stove at home.
      Before burning, please dry the item completely.
      If the item remains moist, it may burst or split in the fire.
      To avoid danger, cover the item with iron net when you use gass stove.

    As much as I love the ring making aspect, I'm interested in if you do anything special to the sea glass? Is it real sea glass, wash and do you "polish " it? What is your process to get it jewelry value? Any tips would be appreciated. Thank you for sharing

    • @artclaysilverkosugi

      Amber, thank you for watching.
      Of course there are all real Japanese sea glass.
      I bought them from Japanese sea glass hunter. She selected only round glasses and bleach them to remove dirt.
      Some of sea glass jewelry makers polish with natural oil, but I prefer smoothly than glossy. ;-)

      Thank you for your comments :-) I apologize to be late.
      What I used for wrapping the sea glass is called “royal silver race”, which is made of pure silver.
      I searched them on Amazon, but It may not available :-<
      This is Japanese Website which sells them.

      You can also set a stone with pure silver wire.
      I will introduce how to do it soon.

    This is great! Do you need to pickle the bezel or anything with it being, not clay?

    • @artclaysilverkosugi
      @artclaysilverkosugi  Год назад +1

      Helen, thank you for watching.
      As you said, it is better to pickle the bazel with liquid type clay, because art clay silver shrinks about 10% when baked, and sometimes clay peels off from the silver frame(especially the flat type frame) .
      In this video I used bumpy silver frame. This frame is not easy to peel off, so I just sticked the clay on the frame with art knife. ;-)

    What oil was that so it won't stick? and what did you put in the basket with the ring?

    • @artclaysilverkosugi
      @artclaysilverkosugi  Год назад +1

      KRUPA, thank you for watching!
      Any natural oil is OK. For example, olive oil. What I use is multi-use oil for tool maintenance.
      When I bake, I put the ring on the insulation board and fluffy insulation blanket.
      Instead of inslation board, stainless or iron mesh is practicable.
      Insulation blanket is used for filling the gap and avoiding ring’s deformation.

    Great video! What are you applying to the ring at 3:43? And how does the bezel stay in place?

    • @artclaysilverkosugi
      @artclaysilverkosugi  Год назад

      markieta, thank you for watching.😊 I apply just some water to make the section smooth. Art Clay Silver consists of silver and binder(derived from pulp), so it gets soft with water.

    • @kikiventer
      @kikiventer Год назад

      Thank you! So there’s no need for soldering the ends of the binder together? I’m asking as I’m curious about how the sea glass stays in place!

    • @artclaysilverkosugi
      @artclaysilverkosugi  Год назад

      There is no need for soldering. ;-)
      Art clay silver is easy to dry, and easy to get soft if you add little water.
      When it is burned 800℃, the binder burns out and become pure 100% silver.
      At the same time silver frame dissolves and joins the art clay silver.
      About setting the sea glass on the ring,
      Usually stones are fixed with prongs, but I sometimes use glue for glass…
      Is this the answer you were hoping for? :-)

    Your clay is way too thick. Five minutes isn't enough. Use the proper tools a d save yourself some money on clay. The base of the bezel is at least 3 times thicker than it needs to be. If using sheet silver, it would never be that thick. Your ring was too thick. How much are you charging , as you use so much clay? They would cost more than market rings of the same style.

    • @artclaysilverkosugi
      @artclaysilverkosugi  Год назад +4

      Thank you for your comment!
      The common ring’s thickness is 1.8~2.3mm. So, as you say, this ring is thicker than the usual(about 2~3mm).
      However, I think there is no rule like “ rings are allowed only Xmm” , and this ring is not too much heavy and thick(I usually enjoy putting this ring!).
      I use every proper tools following Official Art Clay Silver Club in Japan.
      Also, this channel’s theme is not “Making original jewelry as the cheapest way”. Art Clay Silver is not very cheap, but not too expensive(about 15$ per 5g). This material gives us fun to make original jewelries in easy and fastest way.
      Thank you for understanding.❤️
