Do you like both bands? This is the first time I'm reading this, Siouxsie and the Banshees they were a highly respected gothic band, dd faded into a pop band, I don't see the connection
best cover ive heard of this. Simon was amazing! My only complaint is Simon forgot the lyrics during: "When you think your toys have gone berserk its an illusion you cannot shirk" 1:54
I believe that most of the people in the audience don't know who is Siouxsie and the Banshees , while they made strong, dark albums in that period, they were photographed in numerous magazines.
@@smrteypntz It's hard for me to believe that you also listen Siouxsie and the Banshees (where Robert Smith from The Cure also played) and dd, need separate the good musicians from the fancy bands
@@DuleBajic lol the 80s wars among -Hedonism Goth and Dark are over and kids were listening to both more or less secretly already back then 😁 edit after all both R. Smith and N.Rhodes were make up buyers
I wasn't expecting that to be so good based upon their previous attempt at a covers album almost thirty years ago, given this was a SATB song I immediately thought about how fantastic they were not only at their own material but at making covers better than the originals.
@@brooklineg7727 I will admit I've not listened to Thank You since the mid-90s but certainly didn't rate their cover of White Lines, the original is a masterpiece.
@@teresaravenshaw5477 White Lies is my least favorite on Thank You, and the one that does not add to the original I dont know why they feature it at every concert... as the first song, it does kind of block the rest of the album... the songs that are next level are Watching the Detectives, Perfect Day, I want to take you higher, Lay Lady Lay, and a very original 911 is a joke
Oh God! This is everyting! Thank you so much for posting! Siouxsie and Duran Duran, the idols of my 80s youth -- and still today! Is that Andy on Simon's left?
Dom Brown plays the John McGeoch riff nicely. Whilst on the album Andy T only plays a part of the riff right at the beginning & for the rest of the song deploys his customary more rocky edge.
It's a great song that requires great musicianship. Great job except for the drummer. It's like it's the first time he ever heard the song. Certainly no Budgie.
Well there's a funny thing. Sequinned pretty boys Durren Durren take on a song by somebody who knew what they were doing. Whatever next? Spandau try The Jam.
That's what I was thinking.I know I'm old when punk meant getting knocked(tripping your brains out) to the floor face-down in blood, broken glass and vomit .I stiil have the battle scars, albeit covered in Ben Gay patches. Now there's "punk rock cruises" on those cheap Caribbean package jaunts, and now this.I truly admire those earnest, talented people doing John Mc Geoch guitar runs from their bedrooms here on RUclips. This kinda shit just cheapens stuff though.Siouxsie by a bloated old Duran Duran in LV though? it's just so cheap.Probably received by an audience that have never heard of them.
Could not agree more - very poor indeed and a cheap imitation with the wrong drum patterns. I play in bands and when we do covers we do them our way but this is just hose shit.😡😡😡
@@happynowadays And in Las Vegas at that.I'm sure Punk Rock bowling in that hellhole's fun,but it seems contradictory to me.And,as an admitted Banshee (near) fanatic,a cover version there by Duran Duran seems to cheapen them even more so.Of course, that city would turn the Titanic into a thrill ride or Auschwitz into a theme park if it meant profit.

WOW!!! Mind Blown!! Love Duran Duran Love Siouxsie and the Banshees the best of both worlds ♥
Really hard track to play because of the unusual transitions. Nailed it. My respect for Duran Duran just tripled.
Well chaps - being a die hard Duran and Siouxsie fan, i'm seriously impressed !
What a voice!, Simon
I honestly would have shit myself and lost my mind if I was there.
This is the best cover they played
Why of course it’s The Banshees baby .
Because the song is fantastic!
The tone of John's bass had me spellbound!!
Great, thanks for sharing. Love Siouxsie and the Banshees and Duran Duran! Great moment!

Amazingly it is possible to like bands in more than one genre.@@DuleBajic
👏👏👏👌💫incredible! As a lifelong SATBs fan I’m overwhelmingly excited at hearing this amazing cover by yet another talented band. ❤
OMG this is everything and more wow go on Simon!!!!!! The whole cover is done graciously and carefully with a respect for the original 👏

I love it!❤
Simon Le Bon live is incredible , bow to his talent and overall they are so damn good - always amazed realizing they are more than double my age
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG loved this
Will Siouxsie cover Girls on Film??
WOW Siouxsie cover!
Great cover. Really wish they had recorded this gig professionally. They are still musically diverse and still impress after 40 years, amazing band.
They're recording this cover in the studio for their upcoming "Halloween" album.
They just did 😊
So gratifying to listen to this performance. Yeah.
Awesome! Thanks very much for sharing 🙂. It must have been a fantastic concert.
Absolutely fantastic!!! Love this cover, what a gig !! Thank you for sharing 🙏
Amazing guitar player.

I beg to differ. We were all singing along.

This is fantastic!
This is the type of cover that should have been on Thank You LP.
I was worried how they would pull this off. However! I'm really pleased how great it sounds . Marvellous

Try another listen of Thank You... when Duran Duran makes a cover, they make it their own. They improve the original tracks.

Loved the siouxsie track ,this is not too bad makes a change to hear someone else sing it apart from me screaming it 😀

No, Andy left the band a long time ago. He plays solo now.
It’s Dom Brown. He’s a great guitarist and a nice guy. Kills it every time. 🤘🏻
John dressed as his wife is killing me. They are so cute together!
looks s bit like Nick Beggs 😆
WHHHHAAAAT!?!?!!?!? Amazing.
I love D D and Sioux too❤️❤️❤️😎🎸🎧🎧💓🥰🥰💞💙🎹
Amazing 🤩❤️🔥
extraordinario, fantastico
AWESOME TRACK/ oerformance!! 😍💥🤛🏼😎❤️
Great!!!
Very nice.

WOW un cover de Siouxsie!!!!
Siouxsie
Good version, enjoyed that.

That was a great treat! I do think the drums were sorely lacking compared to the original version.
Well Budgie is Budgie...
No one beats The actual Banshees .All Siouxsie and the Banshees covers they made their own this is lame by Duran Duran.
Well why don't you let Budgie be Budgie and Roger be Roger?
I'd say more straightfoward drums led to a poppy version.
Wooooow😻👻👻👻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Is that Nick Beggs on guitar?
The tall, slim, long haired chap!
Edit
This is a lot better than I thought it would be.
Thanks for uploading
No. It is John Taylor.

I'd look like an idiot 🤦🏻🤣
Eu tentei tocar este som no meu baixo, é e bem fácil, e sofri vendo John tentando afinar o dele... 💗
Does Nick beggs is playing bass with them ?
It's John Taylor in costume. I thought he looked like Nick Beggs too but really I think he was styled as Gela by Gela.
What a great covers band DD are. John copes with his bass out of tune with no problem at all. Super easy, barely an inconvenience for him.
It's a great song that requires great musicianship. Great job except for the drummer. It's like it's the first time he ever heard the song. Certainly no Budgie.
Es su estilo y hay que entenderlo. No es un baterista enérgico pero si es muy respetuoso con su trabajo.
And the voice bass and certainly the guitar.
Well there's a funny thing. Sequinned pretty boys Durren Durren take on a song by somebody who knew what they were doing. Whatever next? Spandau try The Jam.
Fun, but the drums are all wrong.
Not a patch on SATB version sorry
Not bad but, Original is still better my own personal view though ( each to their own i suppose).
This is one of the worst covers I've ever heard. Right up there with Pat Benetar's version of "Wuthering Heights."
