Thanks, Ian for sharing, after watching your video I will go download the most recent version. The topological problem is resolved, looking forward to your exploration videos of the latest version.
The dimension updates are very similar to what I use at work, Solid Edge. Definitely a step in the right direction from an deficiency standpoint. I found a bug recently. Where should I report that? I can certainly send an example to you if you're interested.
A heads up: Apparently BIM is native to 0.22. If you have BIM installed (as I did in Windows) you will get a warning to uninstall it and then be unable to uninstall even in 0.21 because the directory had been renamed. This may affect other Workbenches but I don't know for sure. I had to: Exit FreeCad 0.22 and rename \AppData\Roaming\FreeCAD\Mod\BIM021 directory back to [...\BIM]. I was then able to uninstall BIM in 0.21 so I could avoid the error message in 0.22. It didn't seem to harm the functionality of the dev version either way. Thanks for the video. Lots of new features for me to explore.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I just downloaded, but now it is Revision 37709. Having some issues others might need to look out for, when I started the first sketch the window to select the plane was partially obscured in the lower left of the screen. At first I did not realize what was happening and once I figured out to drag the window up it subsequently pops up in view. Also the XY,XZ,YZ plane geometrical views remain on after starting the sketch, haven't figured out how to turn them off yet. Otherwise everything is working as you demonstrated. Best Regards
@@Adventuresincreation Figured it out, selected the Origin in the Model pane, hit the space bar and toggled off the Planes view. Must have been a solar flare when I first started the program!
Thanks for for the update! A couple of years ago i put in the following issue on the Freecad forum: "From what I can tell there is no way to click on a vertex and see what constraints exist on it(I assume that is because it is not "real" piece of geometry since it is a point). If you click on the 2 lines that form the coincident constraint you get ALL the other irrelevant constraints associated with those lines " As a casual user I frequently have to go back and rethink which pieces of geometry are best constrained to each other and not being able easily revisit and edit them was a deal killer. Wonder if they have fixed that?
Your videos are amazing. Thanks in advance. Could you please make a quick video about creating gcode for imported step file. Freecad indicates error regarding set origin and does not creates gcode. I designed a piece in fusion360 exported as a step file format then imported to freecad only received set origin error
SHA256sum checks that the download of the installer file was not corrupted during downloading. Trusting FreeCAD as a source has nothing to do with that.
Very unstable. 1. When I go to Preferences, Themes, only 3 are showing, unlike your drop down. Add in brought more themes. 2. I get an error opening any .FCStd from prior version. 3. Clicking the supported formats in the open file type drop down locks up the program. 4. Import is grayed out, how to import a file?
@@Adventuresincreation so here is the trick to import. I create a new file, then import works. But no information is there. Just the body. No origin, nothing.
They changed the name in the latest dev version the workbench is now called cam but mine looks the same and works the same as it did when it was the path workbench
Unfortunately TNP fix broke Assembly 4 and the developer of that workbench is upset about his work being demolish somewhat. It remains to be seen if someone will come up with a file converter from A4 to Assembly WB in V1. Perhaps you could look into this subject?
@@Adventuresincreation even if the new assembly workbench gets to a useable level, it will not help those who have been building complex assemblies in A4 for last few years… I have waited for TNP fix for a long time but now it looks like I am stuck with v0.19 since all my assemblies are in done in A4.

Excellent, it is great to use, I have pretty much switched.

It's great 👍

You can report the bug on the main page of freecad.org select contribute>report a bug
Worth a download to have a play.
Definitely

So perfect this tutorial sir
Thanks for the feedback
Glad you think so!

It's about to give Fusion 360 a run for its money
Let's hope so

I am not sure if that is included, might be worth a look.
You left out the most important new feature of sketcher. You can specify dimensions while drawing.
That's a good one too!
You missed auto symmetry or the new midpoint. It's a bit tricky with out remove redundant constraints.
@@TheMegaturk I have another video coming with a bunch of these features.
A few weeks later and already v 38001. Moving fast!

nice development. I see still missing handles for extrusion. Are they somewhere?
Do you mean to extrude a face?
@@Adventuresincreation yes right. As it occurs in Fusion360 or Solid Edge
@@Not-Only-Reaper-Tutorials I thought that was what you meant, Freecad doesn't do it like that. You would still have put a sketch on that face.
@@Adventuresincreation it was an FR asked for long time now. I expected it was taken into consideration for the 1.0.
In the latest build you can select any face and pad or pocket it.

Why no build for Windows 7 !!!!!!
If you are using Windows 7 you may want to give Linux a try.
