The Mavericks Ceiling 📈

  • Kenyon Martin of the Gil's Arena crew has high praise for the Dallas Mavericks Rookie Dereck Lively II. He sees a lot of himself in the young NBA Star, who just needs to hit the weight room and develop a bit as a player. When Kenyon Martin was 19 he was immature and didn't know the game very well. But he developed into and NBA Superstar and now he thinks Dereck Lively can do the same for the Mavericks. Catch this and more NBA rookie takes on Gil's Arena every week.
Gil’s Arena premieres every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30am PT / 2:30pm ET.

Most bigs do those little soft drop in dunks. I understand its to preserve energy but i still think that a big that finishes with aggression makes the defense think twice about contesting. Like how shaq, Dwight, kmart, Stoudemire would finish.

It's not just about getting stars or what, they picked the most financial friendly at the same time the lowkey diamonds in the rough and players that compliment Luka the most. It's a combination of the 2016 Cavs that came back from 3-1 and Harden's 2018-2019 Rockets where he liked to Iso ball and pick and roll with the big, if the pick and roll is shut, then passes to the perimeter. Mark Cuban is also nostalgic about his championship roster that's why he's been getting players similar to that team. He took lively because of Tyson Chandler's importance during 2011. Dont watch many mavs game from where im from but if lively is getting love from kmart and saying he sees his game in em is dope and only says how high his potential can be cause k.mart was a beast before the injuries and him playing thru em and not healing right so dallas has a great team for the future and will be scary for sure

Lively moves like Tyson Chandler, and Gafford moves like Caron Butler. PJ is like a beta version yet of Shawn Marion, and Luka is like a small Dirk, Kyrie plays maturely like kid but + the offense of Terry, then they’ve got DJJ who plays hustles like Barea.
They pretty much built this team like the 2011 Mavs Champ team. Built the defense towards their already existing offense juggernauts.

Huge compliment for that youngster. But let’s be honest here K Mart. 😂 Not even his tendencies are close to what you had at that age bro. K Mart at that age was trying to rip off them hoops in college. In the league he was trying to rip them off and make his opponents eat the dam thing.😂🤦🏽‍♂️💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
