The acting element has clearly improved since these days but the facts and value in the advice iven and demonstrated remains at the highest of standards. Thanks!
At the end where you tell us not to expect the cover to be perfect thank you for your honesty about it warping, a true sign of a great company that will openly admit its flaws.
Hahaha, been learning a lot from the BRS guys; as a complete beginner (no tank yet) the BRS160 was very useful, and then I looked for overflows and get something from a decade ago with no production values! Ryan seems like he's discovered uppers for the more recent vids haha, he's way more excitable.
I liked this video, simple and gave me the facts. before seeing this I was thinking about using a drill guide, and you already showed me it will work, thanks for this, I just subscribed
How did you manage to find other guys with the same stoner cadence to match your already chill delivery? Every co-host you bring on this channel sounds the exact same. Not complaining, I am really intrigued. Oh, and I love your content!
oh yea now you need a follow up on the bulk heads lol im posting this video on my pages so people could see how its done and how easy it is to drill a tank thank you
Hi, I noticed you guys only sell the overflow boxes, but do you sell overflow walls? What I mean is, for people that drill through the bottom of their tank.
Nice video! Should probably do a follow up vid on how to instal a bulkhead properly, and plumb the drainage lines. While it seems easy and intuitive, I have seen allot of leaky bulkheads in my time as a professional custom aquarium manufacturer.
Cool, if you guys do start selling the overflow walls with the teeth drilled into the top of them. I will be your first customer! And I'm sure many more will follow. The overflow walls are very hard to come by.
also beside tempered vs nontempered..how do you determine size of box overflow and do you just center the hole inside the overflow box or is there is set distance..ie 1" from top?
Question I need to use a 65mm hole saw in your vid you use a guide but the hole saw is small an fits the drill guide base I was planning on purchasing rocker guide cause I want to put on synergy shadow how can I be sure base of guide will accommodate 65mm hole saw? Thanks
I have a 40 gallon with dual 24" stainless overflows with a Magnaflow Glass Pack. Patriot Koi KP10000 Koi Pond Pump tying in a 2 liter floating bed. My Danio's love it.
Hello love watching your vids. Can you tell me what determines the hight of the drain hole How far down from the top of the tank do you drill it.Cheers.
I have read the same thing, but used silicone to glue baffles in my sump without an issue. I think there may be some concern about not forming a true watertight seal, but for my application (or for an overflow box,) that's not really an issue.
Ugh, just cracked my aquarium, at least it was only a 14gallon frameless (was going to be a refugium). There any other tips for frameless or something? I was barely applying pressure, it cracked right when it was about to finish
Nothing special, all of the same advice applies to a rimmed or rimless tank. Sometimes those small tanks have very thin glass, which makes drilling a challenge.
Hey I have one 1" pipe for in and out of my 150 gallon tank. I've been told it isn't enough for the output...water is currently filling 😬... is there a way to drill without laying the tank down again?
I use silicone to glue my acrylic baffles to glass also, but since it adheres to glass and possibly not the acrylic I more or less build it up along the seam and let it solidify, since there isn't hardly any pressure against the baffle. I don't know that I would trust attaching an acrylic overflow box to the inside of my glass aquarium.
I'd actually say that slower is better - more torque, less friction, but your have some better power tools so it isn't an issue. I like your drill guide, they don't sell those where I am.
So for a 55 gallon im not running a skimmer no sump no overflow i was gonna get a hang on back skimmer but now im so sure whats best¿ a sump and the skimmer inside the sump¿ whats the sump for do i need an overflow too

Thanks!
LOL seeing you guys 8 years ago is hilarious ❤️
They’re so adorably awkward
At the end where you tell us not to expect the cover to be perfect thank you for your honesty about it warping, a true sign of a great company that will openly admit its flaws.
Thanks dudes, even old vids still helpful.
nice to see a new video after a long hiatus. Part 2 with plumbing would be awesome
This is so cheesy and basic I love it. You guys have came such a long way. This video reminds me of public speaking class.

I love you, guys! Lately I've been finding all the answers in your videos, makes it easy since I already know you're a reliable source of information.
My oh my Ryan has come a longgggggg way 💯💪🏻🤣

Hi, how is your tank with the overflow
I would like to see the placement and setup of the the overflow and skimmer
How do you call that overflow box? Can't find it on the internet.
This is the one featured in this video: www.bulkreefsupply.com/cpr-retrofit-overflow-box.html
what size do you make the holes? and how do i determine how high in the corner or how low in the corner to drill it?
I use acrylic baffles in my glass sump and no leaks all holds water just fine
Hello love watching your vids. Can you tell me what determines the hight of the drain hole How far down from the top of the tank do you drill it.Cheers.

Are those boxes made of acrylic?I've been told acrylic wont silicone to glass.
are there " Good Better Best" hole saws? Or a brand you recommend over another? Thank you greatly for your time and help! I really appreciate it!
You guys are awesome :D
What size overflow box do you recommend for a 135 gallon tank?
Can you drill a tempered? My fish aquarium store said they would not touch it.
I thought you guys would be doing a bean animal overflow this time...
good vid, none the less
Ugh, just cracked my aquarium, at least it was only a 14gallon frameless (was going to be a refugium).

" they warp a bit due to humidity - so dont expect them to be perfect" LOL
how do we figure out the exact placement of the box so that the aquarium will fill to a level that want it to be? Thanks.
at 4:32 Ryan is like "Come On Reed" I'm trying to smoke this Doobie! LMFAO
What if you wanted to close hole, what will you use to do so??
very cool
Hey guys i have a 40 breeder looking to do the same set up. what size bulkheads did you guys use? 1" or 1.5"?
Hey I have one 1" pipe for in and out of my 150 gallon tank. I've been told it isn't enough for the output...water is currently filling 😬... is there a way to drill without laying the tank down again?
Could you tell me what size of the drill should i get to fit one inch bulkhead?
What's the best way to clean a reef ready overflow box?
Oh! Kool. Thanks
So you can glue an acrylic overflow to glass just with normal sylycone? :O
I use silicone to glue my acrylic baffles to glass also, but since it adheres to glass and possibly not the acrylic I more or less build it up along the seam and let it solidify, since there isn't hardly any pressure against the baffle. I don't know that I would trust attaching an acrylic overflow box to the inside of my glass aquarium.
how far from the edge of the tank should the hole be drilled?
whens ep.8 coming!!!!!!
good job buddy! seems legit
I'd actually say that slower is better - more torque, less friction, but your have some better power tools so it isn't an issue. I like your drill guide, they don't sell those where I am.
***** what is the name of the "drill guide" ? I might start looking around for one of these locally.
So for a 55 gallon im not running a skimmer no sump no overflow i was gonna get a hang on back skimmer but now im so sure whats best¿ a sump and the skimmer inside the sump¿ whats the sump for do i need an overflow too
I was wondering how many holes I could cut with one bit?
Thanks bro ..:)
I have been told and I have read that silicone won't adhere to acrylic.
we need the 2d part!!! ;)
If u only need a return an a drain in ur fish tank, why some ppl have 3 or more holes in their tanks?
👍👍
Do u guys just have a bunch of 40 gallon tanks laying around :)
Are they Bill & Teds brothers?
A classic
This guy reminds me of Frank from the show Raising Hope
Is this a glass Aquarium?
these guys reminds me Bevis and butthead!!!
I like this video there not shouting they must have had a J
why not just measure the water properly so the water doesn't overflow your sump simple
It’s likely that a significant amount of water is going to overflow 😂🤣. 🥺😩😱
very cool
