- Let's review the water source options for aquaponics. What can we use and what is the safest way to top up an aquaponics system.

The best pH control is achieved by alternating Potassium Hydroxide KOH with Calcium Hydroxide CaOH. Builders Lime CaOH is widely available. You should sell both with directions to your clients. Also tap water, bore water, pumped water etc may have XS gas force dissolved by pressure. They are all pressurized supplies. It is always necessary to spray water into ponds from above. The finer the spray and the bigger the fall the better. This allows the water to breathe and loose any XS gas or breathe and become oxygenated. The mixing as it falls into the pond also oxygenates. This will remove some of the chlorine as well.
Thanks Jim :)
I wonder if a little clay could be used to help clean the water. It binds to + molecules. It can be mixed and then allowed to settle to the bottom overnight. It could theoretically help remove lead, mercury, pesticide, but also good things like calcium and iron.
Yes, I only use it when clay contaminate a pond.
Always best straight out of Australia greetings from Germany.Tell me do U put posstasium in the water 💦?
Hello! Yes I do add Potassium Hydroxide into the aquaponics water for pH regulation and plants fructification mainly.
@@AquaponicsRevolution thank U I put little of Iron in aswell it works great thank U for U answer.
Hi I wanted to ask about the quality of tap water if it contains calcium and magnesium ions minerals
Yes tap water is not ideal but sometimes it's our only option. only top up 10% of your volume at a time.
Yes, and whenever a percentage of evaporated water is added, the value of ph will br relies
I live in sudan , we have the nile reiver . so what shall i do? thnx
Thanks, good question. If the water is not polluted with heavy metals and other pollution you can use it. Alternatively rainwater or well water will do
hehe, I get a video for all my questions :)
True 👍
@@jonathanmartinetto2344 I have to come up with more pertinent questions then!
But water was a huge one, no one is really develop that topic
Well you didn't dig deep enough my friend, I developed this topic a while ago : ruclips.net/video/kq8E4k_iEEU/видео.html

Please Jonathan, help me out with my paid $7 tutoring session
What about catching Rain water and pumping it into tanks and recirculating it? @AquaponicsRevolution
Yes. rainwater is a great option!
