I'm really happy that Andy recognises Muchova. She's an amazing player with beautifull tennis and i think a lot of people kinda forgot about her, cause she was almost 1 year out with that Wrist Injury. If she can be healthy in 2025, i'm 100% sure she will be climbing to those top 5 places for sure.
A great video with solid takes on all 20+ athletes. The format was great and I like that AR, JW, and Producer Mike have slightly different ways of expressing their views even when they may agree. It keeps things interesting. Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy, and prosperous 2025 for everyone.
Merry Christmas guys, look forward to some more battles next year! I have to give credit where it's due and you've done a great job with the podcast. Well done. 👏
Soooo excited for 2025 WTA. I think the top 5 is incredibly strong right now and will make the slams really competitive and exciting. The rest of the top 10 and even outside of it has great players that can beat the top 5 on their best days. Very competitive field right now and we've got wildcards like Osaka lurking as well. Bring on the Australian Open! Great episode, Andy!
With Coco's forehand and service game now clicking; it will be a nightmare come through for all of the WTA. Osaka will have a moving brick wall to overcome.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I thought you might mention that Dasha got to 6 finals this season and on all 3 surfaces and won 2 titles....pretty impressive i think👍 She did amazing 🤗
Amazing episode as always team! What about a mini ep on all the retirements in 2024? (excluding Rafa, ok maybe just skim over his retirement a tad bit lol)
Eggsalad. Love the show, love this recap, keep it up chuckers. Paolini was a major figure this year. Pegula breaks through at a major. Coco is terrific in every phase but one and I have to think that will be corrected. The testing parameters/system is a trainwreck that must be fixed. Collins is still a lousy case for sportsmanship, imo. Rybakina took a very necessary step, and hope it goes very well for her. Aryna is a joy on & off the court. And much love to Dasha Kasatkina.
I want to clarifying some that Jon didn't accurately recall!!!! SASCHA joined Serena's team in 2007/8 way before Patrick came around in 2012. He lived with Serena and Venus
I would have loved if you guys had the name of the player up while you were talking about them. You don't often repeat their names, and I felt like I just always managed to miss you saying it!
Great segment, stoked for the ATP edition as well, might be to granular for this episode but Shnieder vs Fernandez rivalry is real! peeped there head to head and you can tell why Diana was so happy to beat her in Hong Kong
The thee players that I think that can win their maiden grand slams are Qin Wen Zheng, Muchova and Andreeva, I think one of them will win but not all three. Qin Wen really should have won the year end final and had all the chances of doing it but not putting in the final nail, but we saw a trend of continuous improvement over the last few months after the USO. Muchova, by far the player with the most complete tool sets in WTA, great athlete, great defender as well as attacker. Andreeva, very smart young player, has a tennis brain that mature than her age and has a great coach in Conchita Matinez who is harnessing her talent to be a slam winner.
One if the top four has found another gear and it will be on full display throughout the year. The other three in the top four have all peaked and cannot reinvent themselves. The player with the higher ceiling will dominate the majors. Get your popcorn and watch it unfold.
lol what a lovely hagiography of the top 20. I know JW is running scared after the eighthead debacle but come on guys, you can be a LITTLE critical of players.
it'd be great if. ( big IF. ) Rybakina and Muchova could play even 2 seasons healthy... but the 4 slams will probably be some mix of Sabalinka, Gauff & Swiatek. perhaps someone will get totally hot like E. Raducanu a couple years ago , but Who to pick out for that ? OK. the 4 I'd be real happy IF they won, but a long shot for each & maybe their last real hope. Keys , Badosa , Paolina , Muchova. Near everyone is aware of Muchova , 20 -7. Win /lss this year and I heard on TV the ONLY WTA player with more winners than errors..... ps - agree with Ostapenko , one of my faves to watch.
Merry Christmas Re Collins, I did watch your interview with her, and yes it did change my opinion of her on-court persona for the positive. And then she, and Navarro behaved liked spoilt, entitled brats at the Olympics. Basically playing up to the negative stereotype that Americans expect to be treated better than other nations whilst retaining a limited education. I have avoided their matches since. Just a personal preference.
It would be great if you guys upped your game and production quality by showing pictures if not video of the players instead of three old talking heads, ahem. You have a quality product but you're in a visual medium, for crying out loud.
She behaves exactly the same way towards all Russian Belorussian players which has been explained several times by her and others Ukrainian players the reason. Try to understand , don’t judge bc you don’t know what they are going through with their families, friends, cats and dogs thanks to their neighbors.
@@jolanciabe8602 yea , it's brutal. I really don't wanna pin a Countriess actions or whatever with a Player. believe it for not , Opera of all things has the exact same issue.
You guys are so silly. This is not a popularity contest, maybe you guys should actually watch some matches. Muchova is way overrated. Forget never winning a big title, she has never even won a 500 title. Yet she is the best player to never win a major? Come on, you guys are embarrassing. The best player to never win a major is the same player who BEAT Muchova in the USO SF... Pegula
Quick...who has had a better career Muchova or Paolini. It's easily Paolini despite the hype around a non producing Muchova. When is Muchova actually going to step up and win a big event? It doesn't look like she is capable of doing so. Talk about all hype and no substance, that's certainly Muchova.
@@MarkJones-yo5un Paolini was thrashed by Muchova in USO. Paolini is not going to repeat any of her result next year. Anyone play Paolini in a major title is a given to win one.
Personal opinion: I think Andy would have been a great coach for Iga Świątek :D
Iga was 64-9 this year 🎉
Yeah sure but she was hopped up on melatonin

I love Muchova! Please stay healthy Karolina!
This format was great, avoided the cliched tropes that JW mentioned at the end. Can't wait for the ATP episode!

Great show and good recap&prediction 🎉😊

I really appreciate these topics where you go though the top 20
Great review! Really enjoyed the analysis and what we can look forward to in 2025! Ready for atp edition of this
As always a joy to watch and to listen. Thank you guys, i'm a new fan of tennis and your podcast is part of the reason I'm Loving it more
Good pod and happy to see Wortheim back.
Brilliant year end summary.
Good show. Comments on players were succinct. You kept it moving. Another good show.
What is JW's status at T.C.?
Great video! Love to hear about WTA players.
What a great podcast this is. Thanks to all involved and I'll be looking forward to what you have to say about the ATP side. Happy holidays...
Great podcast! Thanks for the content! Waiting for the new season! 🎉🎉❤❤
Skipped over Osaka a little bit at the end .. Never sleep on a former #1 and gs winner!

Could you do a Top 10 prediction for both WTA and ATP? If that's not possible this year, maybe next year you could give it a try.

You got to get Roger on in 2025 Andy!!
I suggest in the future players' pictures are shown when you mention them.
Class comment John. Thankfully you aren’t cancelled 😊

Was surprised to see Shnieder beat Fernandez so easily in Hong Kong.
This episode was not intended for those who don't follow the WTA.
"An ARBITER of inconsistency?" it's never too late to go back and get that degree Andy.

Are you a newbee in tennis? a 500 title is never remotely comparable in achievement to a semi finalist of a grand slam.
