Can't wait to give the new detachment a shot! It has reinvigorated my love of the faction. So glad GW realized they needed to do something special for Drukhari to make them fun to play again in 10th.
Great review as always and congrats on the W Only Skari used the bomber - points go up Skari now uses 3/4 of the armies units… ***Rocking back and forth in the corner bitting teeth**😂😅
Yeah the new army rules are amazing! I do like the full squad of wyches with lelith leading. Them jumping out of a raider is busted. Deep strike - disembark - (gain Lance and ignores cover) shoot pistols- 1cp to charge and empower with a pain token in the fight phase -Use her thrilling spectacle ability if need be (You get to Re-roll hits, re-roll wounds. Strength increased by one and AP increased by -2 on all models.) nothing should survive that. You can then spend 1 cp for the wraithlike retreat to move towards objectives or back to the boat to do it again next battle round. Boats and hoes strategy is legit 😂
Ha. The fact that you had the same thought about Wracks makes me happy. I am in the process of painting 3 squads. (Stripped my first squads paint, because I wasn't happy with it.) Have them screen things, or charge early to build up some pain tokens with their deaths.
Don't forget the Stratagem in the new Detachment, that allows units in transports (especially Wracks) to deal mortal wounds. While getting the Wracks stuck in early has its advantages, for pain token generation, don't sleep on those mortal wounds either. They could really make the difference in some games.
So cool to hear you Drukhari are performing now! I don’t play that often, 1-2 a month if I’m lucky and haven’t had a chance to try it yet. I’m not sure my brain can cope with that many models haha!
Hot Dang! Glad to see Skysplinter slaps 😁 Question I've gotta ask: Did the lack pf extra pain tokens change your playstyle in any way? Did you have to hang back for the first 2 turns / patiently wait and build up pain tokens & CP while getting ready for a 'go' turn? Or were you aggressive from turn 1? Where you able to farm enough tokens from tank kills and Wrack deaths to get the jump early and slam into 'em?
I'm still learning 10th and Drukhari, so I do not know, if this is too much of an investment points wise and/or overkill, but hear me out: THE KABALITE CAN-OPENER You need: 2 Venoms, 1 Raider, 2 Units of Kabalites A and B, 1 Archon (leading Kabalite unit A) with the Sadistic Fulcrum Enhancement Put the Special Weapons half of Kabalite unit A and the Splinter Rifle half of Kabalite unit B into the 2 Venoms. The Archon and the Splinter Rifle Part of unit A plus the Special Weapons part of unit B start the game embarked on the Raider and in reserves. The Venoms and their contents can go do their stuff. Let's focus on the Raider here: If the opponent has put a transport with a unit in it on an objective you want cleared, the raider deep strikes within 12" and the Archon plus his half of unit A disembarks. Start of the Shooting Phase, you use a pain token to empower unit A (and also the Raider, thanks to Sadistic Fulcrum). The empowered Raider then can shoot at the transport with 2 Dark Lances and 1 Blaster, which could/should? be enough to destroy the transport, granting you 1 Pain Token. After the transport ist gone and it's content has been placed on the battlefield, you can spend 1 CP for Skyborne Annihilation on unit A for 10 splinter rifle shots that are sustained 2 (and 2 splinter-pistol sustained 1 shotsfrom the Archon) with anti-Infantry 3+ and ignores cover, that all have full re-rolls to wound. Bet case, you spent 1 Pain token and 1 CP, but gained 2 Pain tokens for killing the transport and it's former passengers. What do you think?
Hey Skari - If you have time, I'd love to hear a short Tactics video on how you use the Beastmaster and what your expected value is from it! Some tricks around it would be really helpful to visualise.
Great video Skari! I've been playing 2 games with the new detachement so far and found one thing. Full squad of Kabalites with Archon, jumping out of Raider, pain token and the new strat to give them sustained 2 - with full reroll to hit AND wound AND ignore cover it felt like cheating. Terminators were falling like autumn leaves.... and you can still jump back after the action.
I would say that the wyches are best attached with Lelith and be sent forward as a missile with a Raider. With Pain token, the Assault Vehicle Strat, and her innate ability, you can have a potential turn 1 charge with all the wyches having 30 Str 4 Ap -3 with Lelith being able to pop her once per game and have 12 Str 4 Ap -4 attacks. To add to the sauce, they will also have Lance the turn they charge, which makes things more eye-catching to your opponent. They will become a big enough distraction for the rest of the DE army to do their own thing.
Played one game with the detachment into world eaters and the Haywire scourge came in very clutch against a toughness 13 Lord of Skulls. Love the detachment so far.
Great report, pretty wild with this new detachment that you're hard wiping people off the table with DE now. Glad to see this detachment is as fun as it looks. How have you been finding the Archon with Incubi in comparison to other threat groups we have like Lilith + Wytches or Archon with full court + Kabalites? I'm currently preping a 1k for my locals tourny and trying to work out what's worth cutting or building around with these changes.
awesomeeee!!!! 5 games in won 17-3 pretty much everytime which was pretty good but picking up the army new from space marine fundementals so keeping on the training wheels before going all out.
So hyped to see them doing well and to see this aggressive and fast playstyle. Love me some Venoms. Question: Any thoughts on Lelith with the Wyches? Their damage output isn't as good as an Archon + Incubi but their flexibility with the stratagem seems worth it. Curious if you don't think she's quite right or if she just didn't make this initial cut!
The wracks are a great idea, I had built something similar but with no wracks. I did buy a Tantalus in celebration so that may start taking a space in my lists 😂
I keep talking up Venoms to my local guys who are running Raiders and felt like I was the crazy one for not running any Raiders. I feel very vindicated by this video - they always serve me so much better than Raiders.
Have you run into hyperspace necrons yet? I find court of the archon is our best way of dealing with c’tan-court+shooty kab squad sustained hits 2 empowered with lethal hits and a charge from the same unit has about a 75% chance to wipe the c’tan , if you’re grenade stratting then the odds go up a little more. What do you think about the court?
congratulations...! Nice list!! One question. Would you try to squeeze in some Talos for the staying power and ability to contest primaries? Not to mention the build in haywire which as you said rocks the meta right now. Also the fact that they get permanently empowered after killing a unit helps with pain token economy no?
I do suspect Raiders and venom will get those 10 points back, in 6 months. But is is nice to hear how the new detachment works well. Do wonder if the new detachment make wyches work now, if they jump out of raiders in groups of 10 with succubus, or if they still strike to weak?
Another question for you Skari, because I'm also weighing Drazhar vs. 3rd Archon - what is your take here? So far in my 3 games, I'm leaning toward a 3rd Archon. Drazhar's ability to generate some more pain tokens sounds nice, but it's harder to pull off than expected, especially into certain matchups. He does hit harder in combat, but the no wound re-rolls for the squad is the big negative with him.
@@SkaredCast Sad. If Drazhar still had the insane output of 9th, he'd be more worth it, but as is he just drastically reduces the output of the incubi when compared to the archon, and the +1 to wound is usually redundant with Lance. Hey Skari, I'm probably trying out the new detachment on saturday with a similar list. Do you put the special weapons of the kabalites inside the venoms? If so, did you use the stratagem for sustained 2 after disembarking? Or do you feel spending a pain token on the transport itself is more worth it? Greetings
Question usually when an army gets a new codex we get a character or two. Which character do you think we will get when the codex drops? My money is on Urien Rakarth, since we already have a relativly "recent" model for him. Would love Vect but somehow i really doubt we will see him anytime soon.
I went to an RTT this Saturday, did well, but my opponent drew assassinate in round 1-2 all 3 games, and all 3 games the beast pack just died and gave up 5 points….. there’s no way they would have gotten it otherwise. Only an archon in a ship they couldn’t get too. I’m thinking about taking the beast pack out, because they just don’t kill much, and give up assassinate too easily….thoughts?
Question if you see a role for Talos in the current detachment? I have 4 in the list currently, similarly to address the shortage of pain tokens as they seem pretty self sufficient?

@skari i had a question With drazhar leading a unit disembarking from a transport does his ability stack with lance as both are adding a +1 to the wound roll?
I don't think they will since geedubs goes off their bad tourney stats to nerf/balance. Drukhari were near the bottom of win ratio at lvo... They obviously don't watch our Archon Skari in action.

The old world event the day before this one. I’m working on my tournament in review for that one should be out next Monday.
What do you think about running court of the Archon?
I think there is play there .
Instead of Drazar to potentially help generate Pain Tokens, how would a Death Jester do instead? Force those Battle-Shock tests every round.

With drazhar leading a unit disembarking from a transport does his ability stack with lance as both are adding a +1 to the wound roll?
It does , but you can only apply a +1 so the +2 only helps if the enemy also has a -1
@SkaredCast thank you Skari 😊
Been telling my gaming group that haywire is great.
It's great until you go against Tyranids or Daemons.
It’s fantastic
@@toferkrz946 They still great: in that games they switch from shooting to bodyblock, both Tyr and Daemons hates bodyblock!
Lelith is pretty pretty strong. Did you try her?
I have , not with the new detachment yet.
So as a pain engine fan which detachment works better for a mostly homunculus list
Both, but the Realspace raid has the -1 to be wounded and that helps a lot.
@@SkaredCast ah gotcha
Have you ever thought about using death jesters to help farm power from pain
I want to start a Drukhari army so much but they are waaaay to hordy and expensive :(
Couple of starter sets …
Nerf incoming! Haha
I don't think they will since geedubs goes off their bad tourney stats to nerf/balance. Drukhari were near the bottom of win ratio at lvo... They obviously don't watch our Archon Skari in action.
lol!
Oh good. Drukhari table everything again.
Hahah, or get tabled.
@@SkaredCast live by the anti infantry 2+, die by the toughness 3 army wide
Skari is the best archon! always kicks butt
Thanks !
