Silk from India is considered some of finest in the world. Thailand also produces exceptional silk. There's a reason silk and linen have always been on the expensive side. And in every generation globally considered a luxurious fabric.
Real silk is incredible. I bought Indian silk bed sheets. People are like it makes you all sweaty and it sticks to you, but it doesn't. That's satin (ie polyester) fabric which does that
See I always grew up being taught about the Silk Road and how merchants would travel thousands of miles but I never understood why it was so expensive and sought out for until I saw videos like this.
@@FinalFront I *_HATE_* polyester in the heat 🥵 (In cold climate it's okay).
I don't get why people love polyester shirts that are (supposedly) supposed to "draw moisture away from the skin" and keep you dry, that's why a lot of golfers and soccer players shirts are polyester. I can't STAND polyester in the heat or when I'm sweating like in the gym. It feels sticky like I have a plastic bag over me, it doesn't feel as soft as good cotton, and I sure as heck don't ever feel no "wick" effect from the sweat.
I LOVE good, soft, light, cotton for under shirts and other clothes.
I _DO_ like some artificial fabrics like a cotton/lyocell blend, I have shorts in this fabric and it's as soft as the softest cotton I've ever worn! And feels exactly like really soft cotton.
I also love cotton/modal blend. I have some light fabric pajamas in this fabric and it's also INCREDIBLY soft and stretchy. Pretty much feels just as soft as the cotton/lyocell blend.
But I always see these golfing and soccer shirts and shorts and even in cool climate I can't STAND those clothes.
SOME of the newer polyester clothes that has been made differently is okay, either doesn't get as hot but still feels like a grocery bag on you, or, is incredibly lightweight and not as "sticky" but still doesn't even come close to real soft cotton.
But I just found these lyocell and modal blends last year and I love them even in the heat because they feel exactly like real good cotton and I can't tell the difference.
I don't own ANY silk though. I always thought it had the same "sticky" effect like polyester but I guess reading your comment that's not the fact.
Now you've gotten me curious and I'll have to try it.

Ancient Chinese invented silk and traded through the Silk road.
@@Johnny5932usources? Saying it was invented and traded on the Silk Road is like saying the sun makes light. We already know this. Your vague comment doesn’t really explain anything. But the fact that someone realized the worms made this silk webbing and that you could harvest it and spin it into clothing or fabric in general, some amazing stuff. People back in the day were so smart and inventive. Feel like we’ve lost that nowadays and that we mostly only make shit that nobody really NEEDS these days. Just more shit to waste money on and fill our houses with.

People do this in America also

We complain about our jobs but seeing these people working so hard and for so little money , I’m sure. This makes you appreciate the beautiful things in life that we take for granted😪. These people deserve our total respect !!
The thing that always amazes me is the the the where in the U.S. it takes a whole factory and chain(s) while here it is like a handful’s of village men and/women getting it done. Like here it looks to be one guy. And also he is using an intuitive wood instrument to harvest the product
To think the pricd of silk is expensive and the people live like this is really heartbreaking honestly
You do realize this is their actual culture you're putting down, right?
Life looks so rough for some of these folks ive been seeing, but they press on with their work with smiles on their faces. I feel so much love for them. Please guys lets not argue the prices are too high for their wares and craftsmanship, lets not barter to get it for less. Be fair. Please put some value on their work and their lives.
Trust me, their lives are truly wholesome and contented, full of community and the beautiful outdoors
You must be so full of love, feeling, as you do, so much love for them.
sadly they probably don't make as much as the middlemen who just buy and sell it
😮 respect deserve ❤
I had no clue how silk was fabricated, please god bless this people. Thank you for your amazing work.

The hands on work ethic of foreigners never cease to amaze me!
I always knew where silk came from but I never knew how it was made thank you. Your labor looks so peaceful.
Peaceful? How
I'm sure those caterpillars don't think so
They are in extreme poverty making little money and getting exploited
My apologies i did not have knowledge of their exploitations. I was poor and worked hard for a living and sometimes i whent trough hunger. But i felt happy and free, knowing i did not owe anybody anything. I felt peacefull working outside
In the breeze and no noise pollution. Work may be hard but humble and honorable. Working hard knowing that the product you produce came from your own hands. I used to live in small town in the forest near Canada and i miss it so much, the quietness and the noises of natured. I hope I answered your questions.

These Bangladeshi silk farmers and weavers are some of the most hard working people. I wish they incorporated some newer technologies to get yields from the silk harvesting.

Fabricação do fio da seda. Aquela larva faz parte do processo.
This people are best and should get paid with high price for their hard work.
