I think Daphne is well aware of her privileged upbringing in comparison to many. I've always enjoyed watching her interviews and her ethos on self presentation to the exterior world. I remember watching one were she explained how she loved the idea of outer armour and the articulated finger gauntlet thingies she was sporting and I sat up and thought.. oooooh.. how awesome! and, what era was that articulation based on? lol. I think the way she is conversing is almost like a stream of consciousness style? I think people are getting hung up on the stops, starts and stuttery ummms than the content of what she is saying. She just didn't seem to think it was perfectly acceptable to negotiate terms and conditions with those she intended to do business with Before she poured her heart and soul (and probably her own funds) into the task. This is also probably a teachable moment: don't become blossom buddies with people who are in reality colleagues within an industry. They can guilt trip you so quickly, esp if you're already that way inclined, into believing its disloyal and crass and even immoral to ask for renumeration.
