The Zgounder transformation is now over 80% complete, with the 60kV power line on track for commissioning by quarter-end.

I spent a month in Morocco last year. It was my first trip to African continent and I was very impressed with the country. It took less than an hour to cross the Strait of Gibraltar and the coastal cities are linked by high speed trains that rival those of Europe, China and Japan.
Morocco is of course a Muslim country but unlike many in the Middle East, men and women mingled freely. We saw much of the country in a rental car. The roads are very good, all the way to the edge of the Sahara and in the mountains. Most people are unaware that movie production is a major industry and Hollywood has built a major film studio here.
Aya has all the right ingredients, operationally and from a macro perspective.

This is iligal what you do is kind of stilling. The local society doesn't benifit anything of what you exploiting. There is no road no service no hospitals. The people are so poor.

In addition to prioritising local recruitment (99% Moroccan & 45% local), we purchase locally wherever possible.
Residents of douars located close to Zgounder now have access to a) the freshly renovated health centre at Askaoun with a weekly clinic provided by our own mine doctor; and b) to the renovated school at Askaoun which is served by our donated school buses.
Last year, our second full year of community projects, we also carried out 3 mobile health clinics in collaboration with local health authorities and upgraded water access infrastructure in 7 villages. Also, we launched revenue-generating projects for local communities including an experimental community saffron farm for farmers in the region and support for local agricultural co-operatives.
